I had high hopes after seeing the reviews and the gluten-free options.
The owner and staff were surprisingly hostile to our party as first timers, commenting directly to us (and others) throughout the meal about how absurd it was that we did not have cash on hand for payment. Very bizarre, and something I’ve never experienced before.
The gluten-free pizza tasted worse than a Domino’s pizza, and was twice the cost ($25). I can’t recommend much about this venue.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical when I realized it was vegan. I got a latte with almond milk and a gluten free savory biscuit and it was terrific! I don’t think I’ve ever had anything gluten free that was so moist. Will def come back and try some of their lunch items. Yum!
One of the most underwhelming Italian restaurants I’ve been to in the city. Service was great but both pastas, one gluten free and one normal were overcooked and gummy. Ordered two glasses of wine and it was spilled out of the glass while being poured.
Went out for dinner on a Friday night, and after a very rude manager sort of tanked the vibes of the meal, Yun was nice enough to give us a $50 credit over the phone for our next meal. Overall, I enjoyed the crazy peanuts, the mains are fair, and both our servers were lovely. Gluten free options as well. Thank you Yun for your fabulous customer service and hopefully that manager was just having an off day :)
I have a gluten allergy, I was visiting New York and got a Nutella crepe with strawberries and the ham and cheese crepe with buckwheat.
It was SOOOOO GOOD. And the service was great, fast and they were super friendly. Trying to get my boyfriend to go back before we leave. Will definitely return!
How divine is this burger!
And the best thing is that they have a gluten-free bread option.
Good service, especially from the girls who bring the food to your table and then are very attentive to helping you pick it up.
Sandwell was right around the corner from our hotel. What a find! We stopped in for happy hour, which was a lot of fun and a great deal. Best of all, the sandwiches were delicious and there was a gluten free option for my wife, which was a total bonus. There are A LOT of options in this neighborhood, but Sandwell is the place to be! Highly recommended!
I sometimes have to eat gluten free because of my wife. Unfortunately the GF crust just wasn’t that good. Not sure there is GF crust in NY that gets even close to the original crust. I didn’t try the regular pizza but it looked great!
We went to this cute place having read some positive reviews, and we confirm everything: good food, friendly staff, fairytale atmosphere. There are gluten-free options on the menu, more savory than sweet
I chose this restaurant because multiple reviews mentioned they had gluten-free options. That turned out to be completely false. When my husband asked about gluten-free choices, the server was not only dismissive but also acted like they had no idea what gluten-free even meant. They made no effort to check or offer alternatives, and the overall attitude felt unwelcoming.
On top of that, they were not accommodating at all when I mentioned my dietary restrictions. It was clear they had no interest in helping us find something safe to eat. We were also the only people of color in the restaurant, and the way we were treated compared to other guests did not go unnoticed.
If you have any dietary restrictions, I’d highly recommend avoiding this place. The lack of knowledge, the rude service, and the unwillingness to help made this a terrible experience. Definitely not worth the hype.
The staff is bar the best asset at this establishment. Every single person we dealt with went out of their way to accommodate us and make us happy. Literally every single staff member, they were amazing.
Their toasted chili sauce is divine.
They worked diligently to ensure the member of our party with Celiac disease was offered safe options, and when serving the dishes, they were careful to point out which would be good for them to eat vs. which would not.
The staff was also careful to advise us to mind the little dried red peppers cooked with one of the dishes; I have to assume some people must have had a bad reaction, because the peppers seemed pretty normal as far as hot dried red peppers go. IYKYK.
The food was good, but not make me want to rub it on myself good. It was good, but not amazing.
Perhaps with the exception of the smoked crispy skin chicken situation, which made the meal worthwhile.
All of the dumplings we sampled were very tasty, as was the multi-spice chicken dish we had, though for me, I needed a little salt to really brighten it up.
The reason for the not so great rating regarding atmosphere... We visited in the beginning of July and more robust air conditioning would have made things much more comfortable, and we were not the only group to be off put by the heat and humidity.
Overall, this was a solid experience with marvelous service. I would definitely go back, I just might not go totally out of my way to do it.
Ended up having dinner and Sunday brunch here in one weekend and enjoyed my experience both times. Waiters were well informed and helpful about gluten free options, and service was good. The place gets super crowded so even though it’s large reservations are a must. They just opened a sister restaurant called Asset a few blocks away to handle overflow.
Julia and Alex curated the perfect menu for my family and me. We were blown away by the 6 course tasting menu, catered to each of our tastes, including gluten free substitutions. We’ll certainly be back to this gem on the upper west side.
What a gorgeous restaurant! This place stands out amongst the rest of the Italian places in the city. Especially on the upper west side. Service was impeccable and everyone was SO kind. Delicious gluten free pasta option and bomb charcuterie. Highly recommend for a date or family dinner!
A wonderful treat with friendly staff. Unique flavors of croissants combined with savory options in their breads mean there is something for everyone. They’re not overly sweet, and there are even gluten-free options!
We went here last winter and loved the food and excellent customer service. This time the new menu wasn’t as good, the music was so loud the waiter and we could barely hear each other, and my family sat in silence the whole meal after giving up trying to talk to each other. I have food allergies, and while menu items are marked as gluten free, veg or vegan which I appreciated, they were not at all accommodating when I asked whether the brown sauce could be left off the garlic shrimp or if cucumbers could be left out of the pho. Its also possible it was a language issue because the waiter barely spoke any English which made it challenging. The only gluten free options were all spicy. When I asked the waiter how spicy the curry dishes were he said they were “mild, a 2 or 3.” It turned out to be so spicy I couldn’t eat it. I told him and he just shrugged and said sorry. Others in my family enjoyed the appetizers and were relatively happy with their meals. FYI, they offer some vegetarian appetizers, but only 2-3 entree choices for vegetarians.
Fantastic Thai food with plenty of gluten-free options! Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A great spot for a delicious and accommodating meal.
I strongly recommend the restaurant. The food is very tasty, large menu with a large variety of options for gluten gree and vegan diets. I eat gluten-free and they are very knowledgeable. They even have gluten-free nans. They have very good deals for lunch and dinner menus. The staff is very nice and welcoming.
Ate dinner here for the first time and the food is amazing. Layers of flavors and sophisticated menu options. I had the braised organic chicken with capers and currants and flourless chocolate cake for dessert as I’m gluten free. Delish. Will definitely be back.
This place is amazing!!! The staff was great. I did a mistake when I ordered online and the guy there was so friendly and understanding. I got the gluten free Luke’s trio. It’s so good, the rolls are buttery and well stuffed and the blueberry lemonade with honey went perfect with it. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent bakery. Somewhat pricey but delicious food. Free tap water is provided.
Their Cruller is a crossover between a doughnut and a churro. It's delicious. My wife had a gluten-free salmon and avocado, and she described the bun as very tasty, which is not a given in the gluten-free space.
Modern interior. You can sit inside and outside on the sidewalk. Wheelchair accessible. Restrooms on-site are clean but probably not wheelchair accessible, given the tight door.
I can recommend without hesitation. We will visit again.
Such a great UWS coffee shop. Quite a bit of seating in the back, although it can get pretty crowded. Their gluten free baked goodies are amazing if they have them in stock when you're there!

We come here often and are never disappointed. The food is consistently delicious, always fresh and they are on it with people who have gluten allergies which is appreciated! Cant recommend this place enough and for anytime of the day!
Lena is amazing and a joy to have as your server!
