We drive all the way from Lake Geneva, Wi (1.5 hours) to come here. I have celiac and their gluten free pizza is phenomenal. The true star of the show is the Eloté dip- you will be craving it for months after you have it! Whenever we’re in the area for a concert or trip, we make sure to stop. Highly recommend!! One of the best pizza places we have been to!
Enjoy a festive atmosphere, great service, and a fantastic selection of beverages, making it a must-visit spot.

Wonderful Dining. The atmosphere of this restaurant was fantastic. We had a wonderful experience. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten-free, and the restaurant seemed to be very conscious of gluten safety.

I've never been to a gluten-free restaurant before. We went with family for brunch. Since 2 of our party are gluten-free, it was great not to try to find something you can have and still worry about cross contamination. Their waffles are funnel cakes...so good.
Charming spot with a cozy vibe and impressive pasta variety, making it a beloved choice among diners for its unique offerings and inviting atmosphere.

I am so happy we stopped here for dinner. The staff were knowledgeable and so kind to me when I told them of my gluten and dairy allergies. Service was amazing and the food was sublime. I missed eating Italian for fear of cross contamination but they reassured me pasta were cooked separately. What a lovely place! I will be revisiting when I'm back in town.
Edit: Forgot to add, my husband got an Amaretto sour and he said it was the BEST one he's had.
This spot is a gem for those seeking careful food prep, accommodating staff, and a design that suits both health-conscious diners and diverse diets.

I was looking forward to eating here after an overnight flight because I have a gluten allergy (celiac) and this place had a lot of really good reviews (both here & other sources) about being accommodating.
Unfortunately, my experience wasn't like any of the previous reviews. The person asked if I actually have celiac, which was encouraging, but otherwise didn't seem to care and wasn't willing to take any additional precautions that others have reported (glove changing, etc.). I was hangry, and even though ORD is notorious for its lack of GF food options (it's embarrassing for an airport of this size), I didn't want to give them my business after that interaction. Hopefully I just got unlucky with who happened to be working at the time but still rather disappointing.
So, if you're looking for GF options while passing through ORD, I'd still give this place a try, just know that it's not a slam dunk and you might have to go elsewhere.
A cozy spot with a charming vibe, offering consistently delightful dishes, a great wine selection, and unique seasonal menu changes that impress.

I had pasta al limon with salmon ( gluten free) I chose zucchini as alternative for noodles, it was tasteless and the sauce is less dense like it's a soup unlike the picture, salmon is ok it wasn't burnt and good seasoned. Please correct it. My husband had a BBQ chicken it's good we like it.
Eclectic vibes with a stylish 1920s interior make this spot perfect for friendly gatherings and tailored experiences, accommodating diverse tastes seamlessly.

Boka - A Good Dining Experience with Some Limitations
Boka, situated in Lincoln Park, is known for its upscale ambiance and innovative menu. While the experience was pleasant, it fell short of the high expectations often associated with this Chicago favorite.
Food & Menu:
The menu, crafted by Chef Lee Wolen, presents modern American cuisine with some creative touches, including a few vegetarian and gluten-free options. One of our friends is gluten-intolerant, and the restaurant was able to accommodate this seamlessly, which we appreciated. While the food was well-prepared and enjoyable, it didn’t leave a lasting impression—good but not remarkable for the price point.
Ambiance, Accessibility, & Family-Friendliness:
Boka’s chic and serene interior makes it an appealing spot for an adult night out, but it’s not particularly suited for families with kids. Accessibility is a downside, especially when it comes to the restrooms, which could be challenging for guests with mobility needs, even though they were spotless.
Service & Valet:
The service was attentive and courteous, adding to the refined experience. We also took advantage of the valet service, which was $17 and cash-only—something to keep in mind if you plan to drive. While I didn’t try the wine and can’t comment on the pairings, the cocktail and non-alcoholic options looked appealing.
Final Thoughts:
Boka is a solid choice for a special occasion or an upscale meal in Chicago, with an elegant ambiance and good, accommodating service. However, given the price point and reputation, it didn’t quite achieve the “wow” factor. If you’re looking for a memorable, top-tier culinary experience, other Chicago spots may leave a stronger impression.
With a rich history of over 100 years, this bustling spot offers a diverse menu and a vibrant atmosphere that makes every visit memorable.

For Restaurant Week and to celebrate our anniversary, my girlfriend and I came down to Trivoli Tavern for a starter, an entree, a side, and a dessert.
For the starters, we had the sushi rolls. I had the crispy shrimp roll and I really enjoyed it. Usually I’m not a huge fan of avocado in things since a lot of dishes tend to overemphasize it, but the flavoring here was subtle and actually enhanced the roll. My girlfriend who is celiac could not have the crispy shrimp roll but they were kind enough to substitute that out for a gluten-free cucumber roll that she really enjoyed.
For the mains, I had steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked wonderfully and every bite was tender and delicious. My girlfriend had the gluten-free vodka rigatoni. A lot of gluten-free pastas are notoriously a little off but this one tasted incredible. She was also able to have French fries since they have a dedicated gluten-free fryer.
For dessert, I got the key lime pie. Even though I could barely fit anything else in my stomach after the rest of the meal, it was too tasty not to scarf down. Also, since we were celebrating our anniversary, they gave a complimentary ice cream with chocolate sauce.
Overall, I had a great dining experience at Trivoli Tavern. The staff’s attention to detail when accommodating my girlfriend’s dietary restrictions was extremely comforting. I’d love to come back again soon.

We had such a fantastic dinner at Bavette's on New Year's Day! We've been trying to get a reservation forever and now I understand why it's constantly booked. I have Celiac Disease and our server Rich was an absolute gem and put me at ease, explaining the kitchen procedures and how seriously they take GF and allergens. They also informed me about potential points of cross contact when I asked about desserts.
We ordered the whole meal (except dessert) at once so it could be put in separately as an allergen ticket, which is checked by the manager. When each dish was brought out, they confirmed it was GF. Honestly, a lot of the menu is already labeled GF, so it helped knowing I hadn't requested anything special or modified. They even brought me house made chips to start while my boyfriend ate the regular table bread.
We had the wedge salad, roasted chicken, brussel sprouts, and traditional filet. Then for dessert we had ice cream with hot fudge. Everything was beyond delicious and I didn't get sick from gluten! We're looking forward to another date night here. Highly recommend sitting in the lounge downstairs for a more intimate, special dining experience!

I’ve been to Au Cheval before my gluten allergy, but I have to say— the gluten-free route is the way to go, even if you’re not celiac!
Service was fantastic, and they offer two gluten-free burger options: a hash brown simmered in beef tallow or lettuce cups. I chose the hash brown, which was crispy, buttery, and indulgent, but if you want the meat to shine, go for the lettuce cups.
We also got the bone marrow, and it was to die for—highly recommend! If you’re GF, it comes with lettuce cups; otherwise, you get toast. They offer small (2 bones) and regular sizes—the small was perfect for sharing.
That said, I’d rate the burger meat 7/10 — not quite the holy grail Chicagoans claim. And if there’s a long wait? Probably not worth it.
This charming spot offers a vibrant atmosphere with a focus on high-quality ingredients, catering to various dietary preferences for a feel-good dining experience.

I’m so happy we found a great Philly cheesesteak place!!! We’re definitely going to become regulars. I love that they have a gluten free bun option that can actually hold the sandwich together and not just crumble away like most gluten free breads do. The rocky is really great but the authentic is even better. The vegetarian option is really good too!
Expect a stellar experience with top-notch recommendations from the servers, a vibrant atmosphere, swift service, and an inviting patio vibe.

My partner had the burger and got violently ill later in the evening - horrible vomiting. We called to let them know and ask for a potential refund or some remedy and haven’t heard back yet although it’s been three days. I also ordered salmon that was marked as being gluten free, but was served with wheat berries. I’m not celiac thankfully so I just picked around them, but that seems like a huge menu oversight. Our server was pleasant, but management doesn’t seem to care about their customer’s health.
Cozy spot with delicious breakfast, a great selection of unique options, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit!

Anytime I'm down in the Wilmette area, I try to eat here. I have Celiac'sand even though they're not a designated facility, I never have issues. They have a fairly large gluten menu including pancakes and waffles. I had eggs, pancakes and bacon. All were very good. My friend who doesn't have dietary issues had their corned beef hash. She said it was delicious.
This spot offers a limited but creative menu with standout dishes and a vibrant atmosphere, though be mindful of unexpected credit card fees.

The visit was a mixed bag. It is nice they have a gluten free dedicated fryer for my wife's dietary needs. The help was friendly and inviting, and the food was tasty. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the order. We found the crispy cheddar curds had more vegetables than cheese curds and the portions were not consistent as our party of 4 had considerably less food than the party of 2 had next to us (served at the same time at the bar). We saw another order about 20 minutes later, and it was the same amount as our neighbors (a mound heaping over the bowl at the bar as well). We all ordered burgers, and my daughter's and my burgers were mixed up (fortunately we caught it before eating) and neither of us had the pickles as stated on the menu. Additionally, my burger was over cooked (previous reviews we saw heralded how cooking temperature was spot on). They did take it back, remade it, and it was fantastic. The menu is very limited (8 entrees) so one wouldn't expect the various mix ups. Is it worth a shot coming here again. Yes. The staff and food is good, so I will consider giving it another shot.
The vibe is bright and clean, with a fantastic variety of customizable options that promise a fresh and satisfying experience.

Best grilled cheese ever! My wife got the gluten free pita version and absolutely loved it as well. The sourdough they use gets a fantastic crunch, and the cheese tastes amazing. People complaining about the price need to go back to the preservative packed crap at McDonald's. Using only farmers market ingredients costs money. I'm glad to pay extra for quality.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with a unique menu and a great selection of wines, all while feeling the holiday spirit year-round.

Extremely disappointed in our service on Mother's Day 2025.
Why the heck do they give their wait staff tables that are placed all over the restaurant is beyond me. They should be giving sections where tables are right next to each other. It's a little more work for hostess, but especially on a holiday everyone's sections would be full and evenly distributed. Service would be SO MUCH BETTER.
We had Kelsey, but rarely saw her. We were outside. 1/2 her fault 1/2 restaurants!! She had one other table on opposite side of patio, but she was rarely outside. She only got an 18% tip because of it. We kept asking other staff for stuff and twice they never relayed it to Kelsey. We would have ordered another drink round if we would have had better service. It took forever to get bill which delayed them from being able to sit people faster.
As for the food, I can only talk about mine. I had a grilled prime skirt steak CHOPPED salad which came as a WEDGE salad??? They were so busy they didn't have time to cut the lettuce up properly??? Wasn't it suppose to have bacon? I got wedge of lettuce, only 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half, and the steak. It took me forever to cut up the steak and lettuce. Then a little cup half full of dressing? I put my dressing on very light, but that was ridiculous. I was eating raw lettuce and steak. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, don't think I'll go back to this location.
We also told the hostess we would need a gluten free menu which did not happen. My daughter is a wine member and she was also EXTREMELY disappointed.
A fantastic spot for special events and gatherings, offering outstanding service and a cozy atmosphere that guarantees a memorable experience.

Amazing food and almost everything is gluten free. The cheese curds are top 5 I’ve ever had and I grew up in WI were they make them right. The three cheese appetizers was a great combination of smooth, rich, and crunchy. The fish and chips were crisp and flavorful.

This spot is amazing—had on my Google list for a while!!! They do no processed foods and have a separate menu for vegan/vegetarian/gluten free-win!
The meals ordered were super flavorful, filling and just the right portions! I loved the Vegan Fungi With Cauliflower hash—the addition of the cranberries and sweet potatoes was an added savory bonus!
My friend also loved the maple Turkey sausage and the pancakes- that were thin instead of fluffy! They loved it! We left pleasantly full and at peace!
Last but not least, we both loved our waiter who was super attentive and patient too! Will definitely come back and bring more people!
This place offers a lively atmosphere, quick service, and a great menu selection that keeps guests coming back for more.

My experience was great for the most part. The restaurant was spacious and comfortable; the atmosphere was lively and fun; the bathrooms were clean; and the food and cocktails were fantastic. I chose Wildfire because our friend has Celiac, so I wanted her to have gluten-free options. She was pleasantly surprised that their gluten-free menu was so long. She said she was used to only having a few choices. The server also offered her gluten-free bread. So if you or someone you know has Celiac disease, this restaurant is a great choice. Just about everything took longer to make it to our table than most restaurants I’ve been to within the last few years. It wasn’t a horrible wait, but it was noticeable. Because of this, our server wasn’t around much. There were several times when I wanted to ask our server about another appetizer or another drink, but she never came by. That’s the only reason I took off one star—that, and the sneaky 3% they add to the check to offset costs. Yes, you can ask them to remove it, but it’s not like this restaurant is super cheap anyway. Why not add the 3% to the food in general if you’re struggling as a business? Regardless, I would definitely return.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with a spacious yet cozy setting, perfect for memorable gatherings and special occasions.

My bridal shower here was nothing short of perfect! From the gorgeous mimosa bar to the amazing selection of gluten-free brunch options, everything was absolutely spot on. They were able to accommodate Celiac and had gluten free and vegetarian/pescatarian options! My dad also can't eat shellfish or pork and they could accommodate that as well. The atmosphere was great, and the servers were very well informed and attentive. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this restaurant, some of the food wasn't exactly my taste, but I was also trying some new foods that I haven't had before. I really enjoyed the scallops and chocolate dessert pictured. The more important thing to me is I'm gluten free with Celiac and I didn't get sick, it's safe for those with gluten allergies!
