I ate in the Burlington one while visiting from Pennsylvania. I really wish we had one of these near where I live. The abundance of gluten-free choice and dairy free choice was exciting for me. Food was very tasty but for the burger it costs $3 to add on sweet potato fries, 2 or $3 for a gluten free bun, and even $2 freaking dollars to add tomato and onion, what?!? All these things cost normal prices, are easily available, and should be options not requiring repricing. Furthermore the moment I walked in with my water bottle filled with spring water I was told I couldn't drink that in there due to policy, but they didn't have any non-sparkling pure water alternatives, instead forcing you to drink disgusting heavily chemical laden tap water. I never write reviews so the fact i'm writing this is your sign. We can't support businesses with practices like these with our hard earned money.

For 99 restaurant is pretty good. The food was as expected. There was a bus of 56 people. Did it just come in before us that we were going to have to wait a long time and we got our food would be Soso. But for having such a large crowd, the restaurant did really well. My husband had a rice bowl with pulled pork and I had a cheeseburger and a gluten-free roll hi. I asked for medium rare, and it came out just that.

Great food! Great service! While the four of us all had beautifully cooked and delicious food, we had to order a second round of the ice cream sandwich dessert because it was so good, lol. It was very crowded when we were there, but we were still able to have nice conversations in a normal tone of voice among our group. We appreciate that! I have celiac and I was very grateful for our server's and the kitchen's approach to my dietary constraints.

My girlfriend and I were coming back home to NY from a day of skiing at Okemo and were craving some good food. We found The Publyk House while searching for locations on our route home. It looked good, the menu options looked great, and decided to stop. We weren't exactly dressed for dinner out, but no one commented and everyone was extremely friendly and cordial. The atmosphere and volume of the dining area we sat in (just past the hostess' podium) was perfect. There was a rustle and bustle, but not so loud that we couldn't still talk quietly between ourselves and still be heard.
She ordered a Pomegranate and Lemon Drop cocktail, I ordered the Rumchata Iced Latte. Both were quite enjoyable. For an appetizer, we opted for the Baked Brie (with Gluten Free option Crostini) which considering the chill of the day, hit the spot so perfectly. For our main meals, she ordered the surf-and-turf style sirloin tips, medium rare, with baked potato. I ordered the Hawaiian Chicken; both came with a fresh baked mini loaf of bread and the Publyk House's own maple butter, as well as a salad bar which we absolutely loved. The salad bar had just enough offerings to let us make it our own, while not having so many options to be overwhelming.
Our waitress, Alyssa, was positively great at her job. She seemed just between boisterous and happily familiar with us, just excited to serve us and make us feel welcomed, she was also attentive to us, but not overbearing.
While eating, the employee responsible for the kitchen was on the floor to answer a question about an item and if it was Gluten Free. Later on, I saw that same employee in the back smiling and laughing with the other staff. It's a sign of a great workplace and environment when things run well, and the staff get along. Overall this was a fantastic experience, and we plan to make this place a regular stop!

We stopped for breakfast after camping in Vermont and before heading to camp in New Hampshire. This is such a perfect diner conveniently located for those on the road. The place was clean and the staff was lovely! I got the breakfast sandwich on the gluten free bread and the GF bread was EXCELLENT! Decided to take one of my best friends to St. Johnsbury for his birthday weekend-he showed me the town online and told me about Dog Mountain, so, of course I booked a 5 day trip to the historic VT town! Well, we both love breakfast. I always felt I could eat breakfast any time for any reason so whenever I go anywhere, my first search is “where to eat breakfast near me”. We tried another place the first day…but the second day we went to The Kitchen Counter. It was the best decision for breakfast and the first morning was all I needed to know that this little cafe would steal my pancake, egg and bacon filled heart! I ordered the eggs Benedict with tomato and spinach (I try the Eggs Benny at every breakfast place) and I was not disappointed. Coffee is self serve and free pours. If you sit on the stools at the counter, the servers and chefs are right in front of you serving and making your food while conversation fills the room. The busier it seems, the better this well-oiled machine runs. I decided I would return for the remainder of our trip.
The second day, I couldn’t decide if I wanted blueberry pancakes or the biscuits & gravy with eggs, so I got both and our hostess was full of smiles and a bubbly personality. I haven’t tasted a more satisfying sausage gravy than when I made it myself at home with my grandmothers recipe. It turns out Crystal, the chef, makes this homemade sausage gravy in-house and special for Sundays…I am SOOOO glad I got the opportunity to experience it! I would give The Kitchen Counter Cafe a 10 out of 5 if I could and I encourage you to walk in with a hungry belly because you are bound to be satisfied! They do have vegan and gluten free options.

The Gryphon is a GEM. Earlier in the day it is quiet, reliably open (this is special in VT), and attentively and knowledgeably staffed (you will adore Alex; his incredible experience is evident in how he tends to each guest).
The food is comforting and so impressively well executed, you'd think the chef should be on the Food Network. Who doesn't love an approachable and concise menu of items they know how to do well every time?!?!
The environment is a perfect balance of old world class meets comfortable open lounge with creatively delicious cocktails and staff committed to finding the perfect meal or drink even if an adjustment is going to help you enjoy the experience better based on your personal flavor/food/ingredient preferences.

They advertise a lot of gluten free options but they don’t have a dedicated gluten free fryer. This is always hard for me because if you have celiacs disease this is really misleading and those items are not actually gluten free. Really fantastic experience the entire way through. If you’re planning to come, BE PREPARED TO WAIT! But it is WORTH THE WAIT. I’d recommend coming a little before you’re ready to eat, you can go get a drink in the brewery behind and also shop at the craft beer store across the street. Cocktails are great and big beer and wine selection. Definitely finish the meal with housemate limoncello. We got A LOT of food and all of it was delicious. Top 5 of what we got:
1. Chicken Wings - I think we ate these too quick to get a photo. They were dry rubbed and so so tender and flavorful. Very crispy.
2. Roasted carrots - they tasted like they were smoked and had a subtle but delicious maple glaze.
3. Pickle Plate - beets 11/10
4. Baked Beans - warms your entire insides.
5. Duck fat fries - perfectly crisp
HONORABLE MENTION - the ranch is one of the best I’ve ever had and the garlic aioli that came with the fries.
The staff was super friendly and quick. They were knowledgeable about allergies and tons of gluten free options available.

The staff was pleasant. The menu offered a variety of entrees that our family of 5 could appreciate. That said, meals were VERY disappointing and the quality of food was lacking. We did not finish our meals and did not feel the need to take leftovers home.
Per menu:
Mongolian Beef
LaPlatte Farm skirt steak marinated in a sweet and spicy hoisin-oyster sauce, sautéed with confit peppers & onions, broccolini, served with basmati rice and topped with scallions and house pickled hot peppers GLUTEN FREE.”
The LaPlatte beef was sadly way over cooked, sauce was very salty, and the only identifiable vegetable in the dish was one sprig of broccolini.
The Fish and Chips should be served on a smaller tray for presentation purposes. There were two small pieces of fish and a handful of chips served on a large metal tray.
Bottom line is the quality and flavor of the food was poor and way too expensive for what it was.
I love to give 4-5 star reviews but was embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to the group. Huge buyers remorse.
