I was really excited to try this spot and was a little disappointed. Great and extensive menu with gluten-free, vegan, and healthy options. I ordered the pancake combo, and my pancakes were undercooked. They were perfectly brown on the outside, but the inside wasn't cooked through enough. My server was friendly and the restaurants decor matches it's name.

This place has some positives, but my experience overall was disappointing. The atmosphere was nice, with a spacious bar area and a great beer selection that supports local breweries, which I really appreciated. However, the food and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The French dip was a letdown – dry, with an odd choice of American cheese instead of the usual provolone or Swiss, and while mushrooms were included, which I know some places do, they’re not my preference. Overall, the sandwich just wasn’t good. The potato skins were also subpar, barely a 2 out of 5. On the other hand, the mac and cheese was pretty good, and my kid enjoyed it. There were some cleanliness issues. I found a small fleck of lint or hair on my cup, and I noticed the bartender using her bare hands to pick a lemon seed off the side of a glass while making water for another guest. These details were off-putting and made me feel a bit skeeved. While they do offer gluten-free options and a great beer selection, the food quality, service, and overall experience weren’t quite worth the price.

This place is great for the body and spirit. The vegan and gluten free foods are delicious and natural. I had the Fountain of Youth smoothie, a powerful ginger shot, and a lemon raspberry muffin for the road. Just an overall great place!

Early 4:30 PM dinner on 5/2/25. * Note: You can use the public parking lot across the street for $6 an hour vs the valet at the restaurant. I don't want kids driving my vehicle. We have been coming to Virginia Beach off/on for 24 years and dining at Waterman's each trip. 3 years since our last visit. Walk in. No reservation. Seated promptly inside as requested. Our standard order for two orange crushes placed. These crushes had very little actual orange taste and more ice than drink. $9.25 each. We have the drink recipe from Waterman's and make them at home regularly with the original Burnett's orange vodka. These crushes were made with the new Waterman's orange branded vodka. Didn't order any more. My wife's salmon salad and crab cake were very good. My lobster tail and sides were also good. A lot of flies inside the restaurant detracted from the meal. *Note this review was completed without using ridiculous un-discriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do yourself a favor, trust me, flavorful, or kids emojis etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees, but no one cares about the waiter/waitress/clerk names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. We don't care about your allergies, vibes, how "chill" you feel, or the need for gluten free food. **If you see a Google review posted with just stars & no text, report it via the 3 dot selection adjacent to the review. If the text in the review doesn't describe the food/service report it. This cleans up Google reviews and removes the slugs just trying to get reviewer points by marking a star or "paid" reviewers. The best in Virginia Beach!!! I have celiac disease and it was wonderful to go to a resteraunt with certified gluten free entrees- they have tons of choices!! Gkuten free Waffle was amazing 👏🏻 I also got an omelet, hashbrowns and toady ALL GF.

This has been our family spot for years when we come for family vacation. It’s 9 times out of 10 a great experience. Some good things. They have great gluten free options. Their orange crushes are the best. And the prices are deff reasonable. Some not so good things. Caution if you sit outside when there is live music, you can’t hear each other talk and will have to yell. Some of their dishes lack flavor. Their peel and eat shrimp are almost inedible due to not being deveined and hard to clean out yourself.

This is our occasional lunch date spot. Service is always great and food always delicious. My wife has gluten and soy allergies and the kitchen makes sure the food is safe. Highly recommend it. Also wine club is great for a quick pick up or if you need chilled champagne!

We hoping to grape some delicious coffee on our way out of town. The coffee to me just needed a little something more. It was ok. My son got a smoothie which I tried and was delicious. The have some nice grab and go sweets that offer gluten and paleo options that were yummy. Nice bonus. We did not try breakfast but the menu looked pretty decent when it came to that. Very health conscious place. Atmosphere is on the smaller side so don’t go prepared to side for long.

Delicious menu and excellent service. The kids really enjoyed their homemade soda and waffles. I had the biscuits and gravy and my wife had the grits. They had gluten free options for her, although the selection was limited.

Session is an experience! If you, or your friends, are looking for vegan or gluten free options- but there are still some in your group that enjoy a traditional bacon and eggs breakfast- look no further. Session is the best of both worlds- coming together- holding hands and doing its own thing! With this being our second time there; we were just as impressed as we were with our first visit. Having a pet friendly patio allows your lil fur babies to come along for some fun. There "in da club" sandwhich is fresh, delicious, and will have you licking your plate clean. The fritata- a beautiful blend of mushroom, dill, and egg with a bed of fresh greens- was fluffy and packed with flavor. The "your dad's go to" was a mix of 2 eggs however you want them, bacon or sausage, hashbrown or root vegetables hash, with a side of greens served with toast, butter, and jam. Once again, Session delivered and surpassed expectations. Service was a 10/10, food was 10/10, and we will most certainly be back in the future for round #3! My family had a really wonderful experience. We were a large party celebrating a birthday and everything was great. From the food to the service to the atmosphere. We're looking forward to returning for our next special event. Oh and every dish that was ordered was delicious. We had a mixed group of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and omnivore and everyone was happy with their meal.

Can for lunch, kitchen was running behind. But the food and dessert were worth the wait. Ordered soup and salad. Kitchen was so backed up it took 2 hours for lunch. Had to take our gluten free dessert for later as we had plans for the day.

My first time here! Having celiac disease makes it very difficult to eat out. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. Our food was top notch and even pointed out the spiced mustard was not gluten free. I never eat a full dish and I cleared my plate. I believe our server was Alainna! very good southern style food! my husband had the chicken and waffles and loved it! i can’t have gluten so my options were more limited but had the cobb salad with salmon and it was delicious!! i was going to have the filet but this location was out the day we went, i assume it’s a popular item! the happy hour is fantastic, $5 cocktails and the appetizers are $6!

My Husband and I go to Rudee's each year after the VA BEACH BOAT SHOW. I now have to Gluten Free and was afraid there wouldn't be much I'd eat there now...I am beyond thankful to see ALL THE GF ITEMS!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SUCH A BIG GF MENU!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Visiting VB, and I tried a few places that offered vegan and gluten-free food. This place was by far the best. The gluten-free vegan waffles with berries were amazing. The hint of lavender and coconut whipped cream took it up a notch. I also got a wrap which was also very tasty. And blueberry Lemonade was a little too tart for my liking but it was refreshing. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely dinner seaside, listening to the waves. The meal was perfectly prepared and served. Plenty of gluten free and dairy free options for my wife. Many filling dishes that are lighter on calories. Everything is clearly marked. The vegetables were delicately prepared with just the right balance of spices, garlic, herbs, and salt.

Enjoy a solid brunch here! There’s many good food choices. Seating can accommodate small and large parties. Eggs Benedict are creative and worth a try! Big fan of the carnitas hash. One item is explicitly listed as gluten free, but there are many items that can be modified to support that dietary restriction. The kids menu has breakfast and lunch varieties. It’s inexpensive between $5-7. A drink is not included. Apple juice cup is an additional $3. My non-eater child happily ate his grilled cheese with fries. Enjoy a single mimosa for $4. That’s a win! The boozy coffee drinks are solid brunch drink choices. Customer service is great. The staff was friendly and chatted with my child. Overall, good place to enjoy brunch.

Valet parking only. Stunning atmosphere, light and breezy Bohemian style. Chorizo omelette and cheese grits were fantastic (and heavy on the chorizo). Pancakes were thinner but very tasty. Service was great. A perfect brunch spot - just note that it is on the pricier side (but worth it). Gluten free items clearly marked on the menu and server & kitchen were responsive to GF order.

Food is good and a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. Just don’t come here for the service. They are slow (30 minute wait for soup and tacos…and it wasn’t very busy), the girl taking orders doesn’t know how to talk to people and made ordering really awkward, and they made a mistake on my food.

We enjoyed our breakfast. Wonderful north beach omellette. Just the right amount of crab and cheese. Ched Dean took care of my wifes allergies to gluten and soy. Its nerve wracking to eat out with allergies but our waitress Lalla did a great job of reassuring us. We did let them know ahead of our stay we were coming. I think thats very helpful for them.

Our server was fantastic but the gluten free food was not. With such a large menu, you’d think they would have a gluten free chicken main dish. They don’t. The gf four cheese pasta was mushy and grainy which may have been from they brand of gf pasta they use or overcooking. For the price point, they could get a better quality pasta and some simple gluten free options for those who eat poultry. I would save your money if you have dietary restrictions. For the amount you spend, the quality is low.

Summary: Nicole was funny and friendly! Food was delicious (and had gluten free sandwich bread) prices were very decent for our large party. Sit by a window if you need extra light to read menu. We came in as a party of 5 of visitors (Army base nearby). Nicole waited on us and she was SUPER friendly and knowledgeable on all the menu items. She was patient and quickly brought our food out despite the lunch rush (which the food was delicious and had good portion sizes by the way). The shakes were amazing and I was pleasantly surprised by the gluten free bread substitute on my Reuben. The atmosphere was cozy, but we went on a day that didn't have a lot of natural light so I recommend if your party needs more light to see the menu, perhaps sit near a window. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and the high reviews here aren't kidding!

Masala Bites was a such a pleasant surprise tucked into a corner of a shopping center on the way to the beach. The menu had a tasty variety of standards and some more adventurous items. I had a difficult time choosing. They cater to vegetarians, offer many gluten free items, and have goat and lamb dishes. The atmosphere was modern and clean, and the service was fast and pleasant. I'll be coming back on my next visit!

We came on the day the surges hit for Ophelia and this was a hidden gem! Staff was amazing, and allowed our doggie to be with us... we came in for breakfast and then had to have their supper too and everything was great! I appreciated their gluten free and healthy menu! Having Graze Kitchen cater my wedding was one of the best decisions we made. They crafted a gluten-free farm-to-table menu specifically for my husband and I's tastes. Everyone raved about the food at the wedding. Multiple people said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. One friend commented "there are few meals I will remember forever, but that was one of them." Not only was the food insanely delicious but the entire team was professional, friendly, and a joy to work with. Came here after my find my gluten free app suggested that it was a highly safe place to eat. Just 3 people in my party (2 adults 1 child). My waiter didn’t seem like he was particularly interested in talking to the kitchen about my intolerances (dairy, soy, and gluten). He didn’t write anything down and I had to confirm with him twice that he remembered them. The people at the bar were excessively loud and rowdy. After 45 minutes they informed me they were out of shrimp (the appetizer I ordered). After 70 minutes since being seated the food still hadn’t arrived. After 80 minutes of waiting the appetizer for the other 2 at my table came out. After almost 90 minutes since being sat my salad came out. They got my daughters wrong. The chicken on my salad was ice cold. I guarantee my waiter didn’t tell the staff about my allergies. Overall a really awful experience after being hopeful that I’d get a good, safe meal.
