I am celiac and was so excited about this place. The chicken is good, I really can’t complain when i find a place that I can eat at a not worry. The thing that bothers me is the price of the GF beer. It is the most expensive compared to any bar I have ordered it from. $10? Really? I know what a 4 pack costs. I’ve been to the brewery in golden, it’s local and you’re telling me you can’t price it better for your celiac gf customers??? $8 a beer is a profit, $10 is crazy! How do you support a community but overcharge tremendously on locally made beer? I can’t sit and enjoy beer and chicken there. Two beers is $20 on top of the cost of everything gf being up charged. Give us a break on the beer. That is crazy to me! I am so sick of people taking advantage of the GF upcharge? That’s done with now.

I used to work here and I would not say this is a celiac safe place to eat. That was five years ago and they could have changed their practices since then, but when I worked there they had shared production areas and fryers. They are very allergen friendly, but as a celiac, I wouldn't risk it.
With a 900° oven for quick bakes, this spot offers amazing pizzas, a fun atmosphere, and top-notch quality that keeps patrons coming back!

I don't typically trust restaurant pizza with my celiac, but their website is clear about their Gluten Free procedures, so I felt pretty confident about eating here. I got a margherita with pepperoni. The crust was good. The dough is made in-house, and is stretched (in a separate area, with separate toppings) like a normal pizza crust. My gluten eating mom actually preferred the Gluten Free crust over her normal one. That being said, don't order your pizza "extra crispy" if you don't want a heavily charred crust. Overall, it was REALLY nice to have a fancy restaurant pizza that I could trust. This place is Celiac safe, if that's why you are looking at the reviews.

It’s order at the front, then they bring items to the table for you. If you like Kombucha, they have a rotating homemade Kombucha flavor which they make very well. First time coming to ‘El five’, my partner and I were first sat in a very awkward table on the edge of the restaurant- thankfully they were accommodating to moving us out to the patio. We were initially asked if we had any allergies (my partner has a gluten allergy and another allergy as well- any consumption of either causes severe debilitating migraines, blacking out, and loss of appetite for at least a week) we were made aware of which options were gluten free- the server was more than knowledgeable about the ingredients and advised us of the fact that they use the same fryer for both gluten and gluten free options. If you have celiac, I would avoid getting food here.
We initially were looking to get the eggplant fries which say they’re “gluten free” but yet are not guaranteed. Our server gave us a recommendation based on allergy preference. When the food came out we weren’t sure what we had ordered since we had to switch our initial pick so we were not dealing with any cross contamination. They ended up bringing out the wrong dish to the wrong table and unfortunately my partner consumed a good majority before we were made aware the mistake happened.
If you are gluten free or have any sort of allergy definitely be weary of ordering and double check before consuming. They ended up not charging us for our meals thankfully- unfortunately that doesn’t change the mistake made but the gesture was appreciated.
On the bright side, the drinks were good and the people working at there were very nice- just be cautious and ask twice.
** Update- definitely a major concern for anyone with celiac, not worth it for the price or the possibility of being served food containing an allergen without them triple checking that they’re doing everything right. Our bill totaled $160 for two people. The only reason we went here was for the abundance of gluten free menu items advertised, which they clearly cannot truly provide. You would think they could afford to have a separate fryer to actually accommodate the allergies that are LABELED MENU ITEMS LISTED AS GF.
I hope someone within management/ownership realizes the detrimental effect that this caused and will make changes to the way they prepare/serve food. I have been to restaurants with no gluten free options that were able to accommodate us no problems and no worries after the fact.
Don’t waste your time or money.

The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, my brisket sammy and tater tots were cold. The gluten free bread here is not that good- it’s dry. The candied pork belly wedge and the hotbox mac and cheese were both very good. The restaurant was really cold, and the music is super loud. While the food was decent, all the other factors make it a 3 star.

So things to note about this place is that if you are Celiac and cross contamination is an issue the actually options for your are much lower than what is labeled Gluten Free. I will say that was pretty disappointing. I’m new to this and was really excited thinking there were so many options only to find out most of them were technically not celiac safe. (Guess this is something I’ll be getting used to.)
With that being said, still had a wonderful experience. Great drinks, the staff is top tier and the server was super clear and helpful explaining what was actually safe for celiac. What we did get was delightful. Absolutely worth going to just make sure you clarify with your server on what will have cross contamination and what won’t even though it’s labeled GF.

We had breakfast there twice while staying at the hotel. The service is excellent and the Eggs Benedict was amazing. The use polenta instead of bread and proscuitto instead of the more traditional Canadian bacon. I would like to go back and try dinner here as the ambiance is really cool. Big windows facing the street. I am Celiac and they have lots of Gluten Free options in addition to a dedicated GF prep space. They take it very seriously and I was safe here. I can’t over emphasize how amazing our time was here. We let them know in advance it was our wedding anniversary and there wasn’t a single staff member we interacted with that didn’t make a point to tell us “Happy Anniversary.” - it was so lovely! They even gave us a special Anniversary menu!
Every single sip and bite was exquisite. We’ve been to Italy and we’ve eaten true Italian food- this is the real deal. But what really seals this as a “must go” is the service. Brittany, our server, was so amazing. She made us feel welcome and appreciated. She was extremely knowledgeable and truly elevated our experience. Brett and Connor were both extremely helpful as well. Connor was our sommelier recommending the perfect bottle of wine in our price point. I nearly forgot to mention that I’m gluten feee and Brittany made sure that everything I ate was safe. She knew the menu top to bottom.
Overall, 11/10 ❤️ Brittany tipped the scale!

Spectacular food! The staff were super friendly and attentive and were able to accommodate for a severe gluten allergy. We had the Vodka Penne (with gluten free pasta), and the sausage french bread pizza. Both were really tasty, lots of flavor. We also ordered one of their gluten free cannolis and a piece of strawberry cheesecake to-go and were very pleased with both. I am not gluten free but my wife is, and her pasta and cannoli didn't taste any different from traditional recipes! I would actually order it myself. The restaurant had a cool atmosphere. It's a pretty small place (only 10 or so tables) with family photos on the walls.

Only go here for dessert and cocktails! This place has the samw quality of food as Applebee's. I ordered the balsamic Ribeye and while the balsamic was a nice touch to the flavor of the steak. The cut amd cook was identical to Applebee's. The mashed potatoes were no better than apples bees. My kids ribs and other kids grilled cheese where like Applebee's quality. I was shocked. Adding balsamic to a steak doesnt justified a $10 price increase over Applebee's. The cocktails were really good and they have a separate gluten free menu which is nice. Gluten free souffle was also delicious. I will be back but only for drinks and dessert.

Had dinner here not too long ago & made sure that there were items on the menu that were gluten free as my girlfriend has Celiac Disease. When we were sat, my girlfriend asked what items are gluten free (to be 100% safe) and he said "just tell me what you want and I'll see." then she asked if he's our waiter or someone else and he said "we all help each other". Ok. Then the wine list arrives and my gf then had to ask the gal helping us with wine what is gluten friendly on the menu. She was SUPER helpful. Clearly the gal that helped my gf with wine confronted 'our waiter' because for the rest of the night, he was overcompensating and being awkwardly talkative. We just wanted our food at that point. Then on top of all of those awkward interactions with our waiter.... he charged us for an extra bottle of wine we didn't drink. I then had to flag down a member of the staff to initiate a return/bill again while our Uber was out front waiting for this. Spent $500 on dinner which was great BUT the experience with the waiter ruined it. Cherry Creek Grill is the better choice, their staff is ON POINT.

Celiacs, be extremely cautious! I was mistakenly served a regular hazy IPA containing gluten after specifically ordering a gluten-free option. As someone with celiac disease, I was excited to enjoy a beer again and trusted the staff to serve the correct one. Unfortunately, they gave me the Steep Hazy IPA instead of the gluten-free Holiday Hazy IPA. Being from out of state, I didn't recognize the difference right away and assumed it was what I ordered.
This kind of mistake isn't minor — consuming gluten can have serious medical consequences for people with celiac disease. The staff did comp my bill, but the error left me very distressed, and there’s no way to know yet what health repercussions I might face.
If you have celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, I strongly recommend exercising extreme caution when ordering here.

I have celiac so have to eat gluten free, going to a restaurant where every item on the menu but one is gluten free is incredible! But for people who think gluten free isn’t good, I’m the only one in my family who has to be and they all said some of their meals are the best they ever had. One had the filet. Another the Salmon. Urban Egg is that brunch spot if you're in Colorado Springs. The vibe is welcoming, the menu is stacked with unique options (including GF-friendly ones), and the staff? 10/10.
I ordered The Cure (it's a pineapple, vanilla, OJ, coconut water bev) and yes, it did cure me. Light, refreshing,, juicy, and not overly sweet. Also had the hazelnut cold brew, which was super tasty and gave me life.
For food, we went with the Denver Bot Chicken Benedict Bliss. Originally thought it could be made gluten-free and was sad it couldn’t be, but they baked it for me instead and it was still so good. The flavors were spot on, and now I’m just out here dreaming of a GF version with that crispy fried batter. Manifesting that for next time.
Also tried the Ultimate Breakfast Sando with turkey bacon + avo. Solid sandwich, but I’m a thick sourdough or croissant for breakfast sando kinda person, so the bread wasn't exactly my thing. Still tasty, just a personal preference.
Overall: amazing staff, thoughtful menu, and tons of great GF options. Which isn’t always easy to find. Would def come back (and next time I’m trying a pancake flight).
