I have just been diagnosed with celiac and when you are visiting a city you don't know with non-celiac friends, it's not easy to find something for lunch. It's good, and colorful. Pleasant terrace sheltered from the crowds not far from rue Ste Catherine. I was able to eat a Bordeaux cannelé. I had lunch there and took some sandwich bread to take away. I recommend and I will come back. THANKS
Enjoy a cozy vibe with a spacious layout, amazing brunch options, and a lovely terrace, perfect for a relaxed meal experience.

Great choice for gluten intolerant people. Wide variety of galettes and starters. Service was nice but there were misunderstandings due to the language barrier.

It is not a 100% gluten-free place, but they only eat the salad and the meat with potatoes. Therefore, what they offer in principle is gluten-free. The potatoes are homemade. The meat comes in a sauce (when talking to the waiters they told me it was also gluten-free) that for my taste contained a lot of oil, but the meat was just right. The place is very large but the tables are too close together. In general it is not bad.
Brunch here is a must-try, with generous portions and a diverse menu that pleases everyone, but it can get a bit pricey.

Wheat or gluten-free buckwheat pancakes, super soft, sweet and savory. The savory versions are integrated into a dish with really intense and well-assembled flavors. Copious, adjusted prices. Local ingredients. Well appointed place, quiet, wifi.
Enjoy high-quality dishes crafted in an open kitchen, with a vibrant atmosphere and unique creations that'll leave you wanting more.

I can agree with the comments here that mentioned high quality ingredients are being used.
They have an open kitchen visible from your table. The 3 waitress were all kind and helpful. Chef looked like he is enjoying making his creations.
It is the kind of restaurant where probably all dishes are great. We went for a classic galette and then for a sweet one with buckwheat ice cream (try it please! It was a pleasant surprise). Options for gluten intolerant guests available as they use different flour.
Experience top-notch cuisine in a charming setting, featuring a creative menu that impresses with unique flavors and accommodating options.

The Modjo restaurant offers a six-course menu at 88 euros and a four-course menu at 72 euros. These set menus are designed to provide a consistent dining experience, but the lack of choice may not please all customers.
Welcome and atmosphere:
The welcome at Modjo is particularly pleasant. The staff is cheerful and attentive, which contributes to a positive first impression. The restaurant room, spread over two levels, is nicely decorated and well appointed, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere. This split-level configuration adds an interesting dimension to the space, allowing for more intimate dining areas.
Mandatory discovery:
One of the notable points of the Modjo restaurant is its obligatory discovery menu. While this may provide an exciting culinary adventure for some, others may lament the lack of flexibility in choosing dishes. This format imposes a certain rigidity which may not suit all palates.
Quality of dishes:
The dishes served at Modjo elicit mixed reactions. On the one hand, the soup, which is often a starter dish, did not live up to expectations. Its lack of flavor and depth of taste can be a disappointment to those who enjoy well-prepared soups. Likewise, the desserts failed to impress, lacking creativity and taste.
Culinary highlights:
However, there are aspects of Modjo's cooking that are worth highlighting. The bread, served as desired, is exceptionally good. Its freshness and texture make it a delicious accompaniment that complements other dishes well. In addition, the sweet treats offered at the end of the meal are a pleasant surprise, adding a sweet touch to round off the culinary experience.
Accessibility:
An important negative point to mention is the accessibility of the toilets. These are not suitable for people with disabilities, which can be a major problem for affected customers. Additionally, the fact that there are no separate toilets for men and women may be perceived as a lack of comfort and privacy.
Gluten free:
A positive aspect to note is that Modjo accepts gluten-free requests, which shows consideration for the specific dietary needs of its customers. This allows those following a gluten-free diet to fully enjoy their meal without worrying about cross-contamination issues.

Very nice and cozy place. The service is very good, they are very friendly. It is not a 100% gluten-free place, but they have a menu where you can find dishes that are gluten-free and those that can be adapted. It is nice to find places where gluten-free dishes are clearly indicated. It is worth highlighting how good the banana bread was (gluten-free dessert).
Great terrace vibes and quick service make for a lovely evening spot, plus a menu that caters to diverse tastes.

I ate a gluten-free pasta with truffles, cream of mushrooms and burrata. I really complimented the waiter on the cooking of the gluten-free pasta because it was perfect (I was afraid it would be overcooked), difficult to find even in Italy honestly...
However, the dish wasn't bad at all!

Cosy, good and small selection of cakes (gluten free options) and food but well executed. Simple and delicious. I rate the fondant au chocolat.

Very cramped but the food is very good and healthy. Excellent for those intolerant to lactose and gluten. Be careful, however, of the second dish of the brunch (hummus and melted carrots) which contains gluten (gochujang) which suddenly made my stomach hurt. It was noted as gluten-free.

Small restaurant in a great place with outdoor seating. Food looked great for non celiacs.
I have symptomatic celiac disease and have to follow a strict gluten-free diet. The waitress asked for me and there were three gluten-free options
1. Red Curry
2. Bon He
3. Tam Belly
If you have celiac disease, please be super careful and ask again, even if it is uncomfortable.
I was first brought a dish for which, when I asked, the chef wasn't sure whether they had used soy sauce containing gluten. So they swapped the dish again.
I tolerated the food well afterwards, but without sauce it was okay, but not super tasty either.
A local gem with a cozy vibe, offering a variety of tasty vegan options and a solid selection of unique drinks.

I had dinner here with my Franco-American family for Thanksgiving. The meal was amazing!! Everyone loved it.
I have celiac disease and most of the menu could be made gluten-free. The waiter was really nice and was able to explain everything to the family members who only speak english. They were also accomodating and made a special meal for my 3-year old nephew. I highly recommend!

Small ice cream shop in a great place.
As I have symptomatic celiac disease, I have to eat strictly gluten-free. There is a digital allergen list and many gluten-free options.
I ate two scoops of
- caramel
- banana-chocolate
and tolerated them very well. Delicious ice cream, I'd love to come back.
Unfortunately, the ice cream looked so good that I only took a picture while eating it and not before.
2 scoops were 5,50€

Best meal I’ve had in France. We had a lot of great meals in Paris but this was the best one. We did the chefs tasting menu. Very accommodating for our gluten free and vegetarian friends, not just excluding items for them but doing new dishes.
We love these places with a strong concept. Located in the very original Darwin district, this restaurant is a continuation of the concept. Organic, gluten-free, vegan but in any case very good, reasonable price and impeccable service. You can extend the meal by walking along the banks of the Garonne. In the top

What a great culinary experience in Bordeaux. Staff really attentive, friendly and knowledgable. Food was really good. We went for the 6 dishes testing menu:really worth! The braised beef was and explosion of flavours in our mouth. Really recommend the cheese platter too with a gluten free bread absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!
A very good place for a quick lunch.
Your choice of vegetable lasagna, savory cakes and croque monsieur which vary depending on the day. All always accompanied by a salad composed of vegetables but also fruit.
The cookies are exceptional (dark, milk, white chocolate, gluten-free...).
You can have lunch inside with a few well-chosen books. At the moment, a few tables available on the square facing the cathedral.
Enjoy a top-notch experience with exceptional service and a prime location that guarantees a fantastic time, no matter your preferences.

The food was fantastic, the wine was fabulous. The girlfriend was seething from riding on the back of my motorcycle along the A10 for 125miles at 130kph, but was entirely mollified by the gluten free options*. In short: a triumph.
We were delayed in being seated, but the staff went out of their way to ensure we were cared for in the mean-time and provided us with a free aperitif, so they are not losing any marks there. Again, I triumphed, the girlfriend triumphed and the restaurant was a triumph. I was also riding a Triumph!
*gluten free options were inherent in the menu without any compromises.

We stayed a few days in Bordeaux and discovered this amazing restaurant.
Inside, the location is welcoming and the staff is very friendly and quick. The dishes are meticulous in detail and very tasty.
Being celiac, they listed the gluten free options (i.e. almost all the dishes) including the very fresh dessert!

The service team is very friendly, the quality of the food is very good. A small display error (gluten-free) for a banana bread which ultimately was not, fortunately without any real impact.
