Great vegetarian and gluten-free restaurant! The takoyaki are excellent. The menu is very generous and everything was very good! I'm glad I was able to eat a big dose of vegetables in Japan.
The boss is very nice and the music was great! Don’t hesitate to slip some nice little words into the floor microphones, they are directly connected to the kitchen 😁

My daughter found this place on Google while we were driving nearby during Golden Week and we visited. We were looking for a delicious pizza. They seem to sell gluten-free pizza, but we ordered two types of regular pizza. The beautiful salad, sourced from a contracted farm, is simply served with olive oil and salt and pepper, which is my favorite! Then my daughter and I ate the Margherita and the pizza (sorry, I forgot the name) that the owner developed and can only be eaten here, and we were very impressed. The crust was thin and even the burnt edges were delicious, and I regretted not knowing about this place until now, even though I live in Nara. The craft cola was refreshing and perfect with the pizza! Foreigners were eating in the parking lot outside, holding takeout boxes and saying "Good!" 😊 I will continue to come here!

While strolling around Myogadani, I suddenly came across the ``biossa gluten-free bakery specialty store''. Attracted by the word gluten-free, I decided to buy the "salted butter roll" to try it out.
When I took a bite, I couldn't help but smile at how delicious it was. The rich flavor of butter and the perfect amount of salt spreads in your mouth, and the chewy texture is irresistible. Butter rolls are delicious enough to eat on their own, but they also go well with a variety of dishes and side dishes. You can imagine what kind of combinations you would enjoy.
There are many delicious bakeries in Myogadani, so if the bread at the first shop you stumble across is so delicious, you may be satisfied without trying other bakeries. However, if you definitely add ``Biossa gluten-free bakery specialty store'' to your repertoire, you will be able to live a richer baking life.
The bread at this shop is completely gluten-free (rice flour bread). When you think of gluten-free bread, you have the impression that you have to compromise on taste and texture, but this is not the case at all with the salted butter rolls here. In fact, I found it to be so perfectly delicious that I didn't even realize it was gluten-free.
When you come to Myogadani, be sure to stop by ``biossa gluten-free bakery specialty store.'' I'm sure you'll be waiting for an encounter with delicious bread that will change your concept of gluten-free.

This is a gluten-free cafe that caught my attention.
I visited around 16:00, and I heard that most of the cafe sweets were sold out, so I ordered a meal.
Some of the meals were sold out, so I was unable to order what I wanted, which was disappointing.
I ate my meal thinking that if they had put up a signboard outside, I wouldn't have been able to enter.
It's close to Sakuragicho Station, so I thought we'd have a great time if they had a menu.
A hidden gem near the station with a relaxing vibe, offering creative dishes and plenty of options for health-conscious visitors.

I wish to give gluten free places a high rating, and I would give a 3.5 if such a rating was possible, but unfortunately I don't think that my experience was worth 4 stars.
1. The food was pretty good. I got a bacon and cheese burger and it came with fries. Pretty decent, not the best I've had. Frozen fries (nothing bad, just not special) that could've used more salt (no salt shaker on the table), burger that was juicy (a plus) but well done (disappointing but maybe that's how the Japanese like it?), barely any ketchup to dip and no sauce in the other container. The bun was very good, the highlight of the burger.
2. If you don't get a drink you must add 400 yen, which drives the cost even higher.
3. The location is not bad, but still 10+ minutes from the train station, so plan to arrive before leaving Nara (do keep in mind that they close at 5).
4. I just am disappointed with the quantity based on the price - I understand gluten free food and western food cost more but if I'm paying a higher price tag I would've appreciated a more generous serving of fries and sauces. I wasn't even offered a napkin.... (EDIT: I did see they provide more salt and sauces next to the bathroom, it was hidden, not advertised or given by default like many restaurants).

It is hard to feel completely safe or even have the option to try traditional foods with celiac disease and that are vegan.
I really appreciate the care that the restaurant owners put into crafting the dishes. The menu lists every ingredient so you can be confident about what you're eating.
This is tied as my favorite restaurant in Japan for dining gluten free/vegan!
Pros:
- Unique food options that I would probably never get to try elsewhere.
- Food tasted good to great. What really stood out was the Razin cake- it was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I'm pretty sure it was made entirely fresh when I ordered it.
Things to consider:
- Food is made to order. Some items might take a while but you know they will be fresh. Just don't expect to eat here in a hurry.
- You may need to get the attention of the staff for water refills, further orders, etc. They run a small operation so that's understandable. Perhaps they can leave some water for self service?

I wanted to buy gluten-free bread, so I went in just after lunch on a weekday. There was a cute, friendly female staff member at the back of the counter preparing the bread? Making the dough? There didn't seem to be any customers at the cafe.
It said it was a cafe, so I was worried I'd be able to buy just the bread, but I was able to.
The shop is located a little way down the road across from MUJI, across from 246. From Takashimaya, it's just past Tsubame Grill and on the left. From Futako Tamagawa Station, it's about a 5-6 minute walk.
I don't know if it's intentional, but the feel of the shop, from the exterior and interior, to the slightly dark atmosphere and concept, is very British (those who have been to England should know...)
I didn't call out to the staff, but they stopped what they were doing and came to the register, probably because they saw me pick up a loaf of bread from the display, so I was able to pay smoothly.
Rice flour bread is sold in tiny miniature loaves, and the price varies depending on the type, but it's about 400 to 500 yen per loaf.
From what I saw, there were four kinds: plain, sweet sake, chocolate, and raisin.
In terms of size, one loaf is about the size of a hot dog bun, I think. So, one person can eat a whole loaf in no time.
The bread is rice flour bread, and the inside is chewy. The crust is crispy and very delicious.
The inside is chewy, but it doesn't have the heavy, dense feeling that rice flour bread often has, and I think it's relatively fluffy for rice flour bread.
It was my first time there, but I really liked it. I want to go again. There aren't many bakeries around here that make gluten-free bread, so I hope they keep doing their best.

I got to experience gluten free Hiroshima style okonomiyaki that was prepared with such care! He utilized gluten free ingredients as well as a separate cooking space. While he was preparing the dish he talked me through step by step. It was fun to watch and learn!
Nakamura San explained that he wanted to prepare okonomiya for everyone to enjoy. He does gluten free, allergen free, low sugar as well as a softer version to avoid choking. He also prepares an original okonomiyaki which is what is prepared on the flat top in the photos (non celiac husband ordered that). We both really enjoyed this meal!
He knows basic English and communicated with a translation device. We were able to talk and enjoy his story telling.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is gluten free or celiac!
Look into making a reservation so he can have ingredients prepared for your visit!

I was soooo excited to randomly find a gluten free cafe on our way to Nara Park. The chestnut cake was divine 😍😍 we had the Oriental vegan plate, while not a fan of vegan soy meats everything else was amazing. I loved the tea selections and gluten free cakes. They have an upstairs seating area (Japanese style on the floor) as well as a few seats downstairs. It was a little tricky to find the entrance as it seems like you’re walking through a gap at the end of the fence so it was a really fun find!
Expect a popular spot known for its rich tomato broth and unique rice noodles, drawing in crowds for a tasty twist on ramen.

Run into Fukunoki because strolling Sapporo with my Moslem colleague. Fukunoki use that all ingredients are halal certified, and also have options for vegan and gluten-free noodles. The owner is friendly.
First I ordered the most popular Ebi noodle and yeah it’s so good 😍🤤. The sweetness from the shrimp and also the rich shrimp soup.
And the next day I come back again and order the Ebi Curry noodle. The taste of this type is more savoury than the ebi noodle, but I like ebi noodle the most than the curry one.
I also ordered the gluten free chocolate cake.

This is a great place for a regular Ramen experience or if you have any food restrictions. They had a very well priced kids ramen option that you can combine with various add ons. You order at the ticket machine and they have an English menu card that translates what’s on the ticket machine. If you need help, the staff is very helpful and can guide you through it. I needed the GF option and the lady helped me through the order process, and they understand gluten free so I didn’t have to fumble through a translation. My kids were able to enjoy a traditional ramen bowl while I could also have a GF meal. The only downside is that the cha su options are not GF at this location, so I had to go with the vegan option. However, the ramen was delicious, especially with the zesty garlic condiment. It’s a cozy place.

I was very happy!
It’s hard to believe that the pasta noodles are gluten-free.
It was delicious, so I visited the manufacturer and was shown the product, and it turned out to be organic gluten-free pasta.
I don't think it was written as organic on the menu, so it may change again, but I felt that they were particular about it, even though it was probably quite expensive compared to similar products.
It's vegan, gluten-free, healthy, and reasonably priced, so it's become my favorite restaurant.
