During our stay in Sayulita, we found ourselves returning to Santas Iguanas twice in one week, it’s that good! This cozy Italian spot delivers on both flavor and atmosphere, making it a standout choice for a delicious meal.
I couldn’t resist trying the Iguana Pasta, and it did not disappoint. The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce had an incredible depth of flavor that balanced richness with just the right amount of spice. My girlfriend had the gluten-free Bolognese pasta, and she loved every bite. It’s not always easy to find good gluten-free options, but SantasIguanas nailed it with their homemade pasta and hearty, slow-cooked sauce.
The drinks here are just as impressive as the food. Whether you’re in the mood for a refreshing cocktail or a well-paired glass of wine, the bar has something for everyone. The atmosphere is laid-back yet inviting, perfect for a casual dinner or a romantic night out.
A special shoutout to Sarah, our amazing waitress, who made our visit even better with her friendly service and great recommendations. If you’re in Sayulita and craving Italian food, Santa’s Iguanas is a must-visit!

Very nice Italian restaurant! Friendly and efficient service. I think the owner knows how to set the mood in the evening! The place is pleasant outdoors. They make gluten-free pasta, so that's nice. The salads, however, aren't amazing.
Experience breathtaking sunsets and a vibrant beach atmosphere, complemented by exceptional service and expertly crafted dishes.

To all my Celiac and gluten-free friends, you have to come to this restaurant. As soon as I told them that I have gluten they made a note. There were so many options on the menu . They kept making sure that the stuff they gave me was gluten-free. The two servers were Gilbert and Luis which were so attentive to me the whole night. I had the beef medallions and The coconut shrimp was so fresh and delicious. If you are in Puerto vaita you have to go visit them. They even gave me crackers that were made out of corn and made sure it was gluten free for me. If I can give Luis and Gilbert 10 out of 10 I would gracias. Amigos.

If you’re a real pizza lover, I’d suggest giving this place a miss. We ordered two Diavola pizzas, one on a gluten-free base with vegan cheese and one regular.
The gluten-free base came at an additional 100 pesos, which is quite steep, but I was curious to try it. Unfortunately, what arrived was more like a 1mm-thin tostada with a small amount of melted vegan cheese, no tomato sauce, and just four slices of what seemed like very basic salami. It really didn’t resemble a pizza in any way and was sent back straight away. Thankfully, we weren’t charged for it, which I appreciated.
As for the regular pizza, it wasn’t much better. It looked like something from a very low-end all-inclusive buffet. The tomato sauce was unusually dark and definitely didn’t taste like San Marzano as advertised. The base was flat, undercooked, and lacked any real flavour or texture.
On the plus side, the service was excellent. The waiter was kind, attentive, and very apologetic. I really felt for him, as he did his best in a tough situation.
As an Italian who has lived abroad for over 20 years, I’ve had pizza in all kinds of settings and don’t consider myself particularly picky. But sadly, this just didn’t come close to what I’d consider pizza, especially at these prices. Piola used to be great years ago, but something seems to have changed. I won’t be returning.

I have celiac (strictly gluten-free), and I'm vegetarian. I came here because of multiple reviews that were positive for those with celiac disease, and the restaurant overall had good reviews in general. Unfortunately, I had a pretty poor experience. As vegetarian/gluten-free, the waiter recommended a salad or a warm cauliflower dish in a mole sauce. There was some complimentary pickled vegetables with various sauces and fried tortillas/chips that came out, and the waiter assured me the chips were also gluten-free. I began to eat them, and then they came rushing back later to notify me the chips/fried tortillas were in fact NOT gluten-free. At that point, the dinner was mostly ruined. I ate my main course cauliflower dish which was pretty good, though left the restaurant quickly afterwards. Unfortunately, I did get sick soon afterwards from the food, so I can't give a positive review of the restaurant. The restaurant also just handled it by having the waiter apologize, and then still got charged full price for all the items, and also pressured into giving a tip despite all this. Anyway, definitely not going again.
A charming spot with a vibrant vibe, perfect for diverse dietary needs and tasty dishes that won’t break the bank!

We came around 1pm and the place was almost empty. They accommodate glutenfree (Pasta Option and a couple of meats). Service was okay but the food took forever and was mediocre. Wouldn’t come back.

Gluten Free Baked Goods are the best. This is a bit of an unusual review. I have to eat Gluten Free. I had one of the cupcakes at Flora Farms and was impressed by how good it was. We have a home in Pescadero up the coast an hour and usually are in Baja for my birthday. I decided to order a cake from Flora Farms. We had to pick it up 3 days early after an airport pick-up. I was a bit worried about transporting the cake but we brought a portable refrigerator and managed with only a little damage that was later covered by flowers. I ordered Gluten Free Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting. The cake held up beautifully for 3 days - I froze it and thawed the day of serving. It honestly was one of the best cakes any of us - gluten free and not alike - had ever had. The frosting has tons of vanilla bean and the texture of the cake outstanding. There is the tiniest hint in the texture that it is gf that only I would pick up since I worry sometimes whether things are truly gf - that slight difference is reassuring. Enjoying leftovers for breakfast. Glad I only have cake on my birthday as it would be too easy to over indulge.
I imagine Flora Farms makes good cakes because of the wedding activity on site but very few manage a gluten free version this amazing.
Stunning sunset views and a vibrant atmosphere make this spot a must-visit, with fresh, tasty offerings and a welcoming vibe.

Great spot! My server was celiac herself and explained everything that was safe. Almost all pastas can be done gf with gf penne or linguine and most of the apps and larger plates are gf too. I enjoyed the burrata caprese and gf carbonara. Highly recommend!
BEST TACOS EVER!!! I had the la gringo taco which was AMAZING!! I also had the cheese crust pastor good but not as amazing as the above. My husband had the ribeye tacos and he said these were the best he's ever had. My kids and in laws enjoyed theirs too. The reason I took 1 star away is because after my MIL said she could not eat gluten they gave her a flour shell. Because of this she was not feeling well last night. Other then that everything was great. For desert we had the churros which were good but not as delicious as the corn cake!!! That desert is probably one of the best I've ever had and I own a bakery!!

Lovely restaurant, food was good, not exceptional but quite nice. Service was excellent and the ambiance while dining on the beach was lovely.
After dining at numerous beach restaurants in PV the beach vendors are very overwhelming while trying to enjoy your meal. It would be nice if some partitions were in place to keep vendors out so they aren't hassling you at your table. Drinks were okay, they had a nice selection of "not-your-average" cocktails.
Very accommodating to gluten and dairy allergies and the menu was easy to navigate these allergies as well.

It's good but not so small for so much money. This little ceviche cost me $290. I went here and ordered takeout because of celiac but how sad that we with celiac have to eat in expensive places. ALSO, they told me it comes with toast but they only gave me tortilla chips... something stressful for celiacs because I asked about their toast, not their tortilla chips. HOWEVER, I appreciate everyone who helped me with celiac, they took all my questions with great patience. 5/5 star service, it's just that there was little food. Many thanks to the host and the kitchen <3

This place is sheer perfection, it was the first restaurant we tried in Mérida and we're going back. Paula and the team have created a fantastic atmosphere along with delicious and beautiful food. It's not easy to create a balance of stellar dishes while still maintaining a welcoming and playful vibe, all the servers were fantastic. We had the duck tacos and the tuna tacos, Poema Oaxacena cocktails and guacamole you dream of. The design aesthetic of the place is remarkable, from the beautiful light fixtures to the surprise and delight of the treats and words of wisdom at the end of the meal. We can't wait to go back this week!
Also if you're celiac, they have everything identified clearly on the menu and communicated purposefully what I could and couldn't eat when bringing anything to the table.
Very tasty food prepared with lots of love. Many gluten-free options. They left out the croutons from the Caesar salad and served extra buns made from plantain for the burger. Extremely tasty and the fries are the tastiest on the island.

The food was great however, I would like to leave constructive feedback. The servers were not knowledgeable about gluten free options. I think it would be great to educate them especially since the menu is marked.

I love this restaurant! Beautiful decor, excellent service and the gluten free menu offered so many options. The Pad Thai chicken was delicious and gluten free. I rarely eat out because of my gluten allergy but I'm so glad I ate (multiple times) at Sasi Thai. The lady playing the saxophone was great. The other people who didn't have any food allergies loved the variety of food and delicious meals.

We were looking for a place to have dinner, we went to read the menu and we fell in love, not only because of the large number of dishes but because they have gluten-free pasta options.
They have a very beautiful garden, with tables under a tree, the garden is illuminated perfectly to enjoy a nice evening.
We ordered a bolognese pasta and a frutti di mare, both were very delicious, the portions are large.
They also have good drink options, we opted for a wine and clericot.
