This place was awesome! I have celiac and to order gluten free the manager comes and takes the order and then the meal is prepared in a separate kitchen. I felt very safe eating here. I also did not get sick. Would definitely dine here again

For a single visit it was ok. The value was low. I ended up with over $160+ with tip for 6. I know that's typical for tourist areas but I think the experience was soured by a few things for that cost. - raccoons bothered us. I think one actually crawled near table and touched ankle making person at our table jump. Nothing else after that but that they were so brazen ruined the novelty. - they were out of chicken, a big part of their meals, out of hush puppies, out of mac and cheese, and more. I get it it happens. - then asked about the waffles and they said they could do it but without fried chicken so it would still be $22+ for two small waffles. This was where it felt like service was just not great. No attempt to find a solution, allow on side order, or substitute. I had to suggest maybe substitute fish and then they said ok. Probably a tired server, but still just no effort so with everyone exhausted we made do with what we could find on menu. The portions weren't great for the fried fish plate and turkey plate but the burger was huge. Charge extra for splitting a plate for you. ($7.99 or so) So overall I think the place is ok but the value, potion sizes, effort from staff, and such just made me feel there are other places I'd rather visit for such a high cost. We all have rough days so maybe you'll have better luck if visiting for gluten-free / celiac purposes.

Having lived on the Emerald Coast several years ago (before being celiac), the Back Porch was always a hit! Now, it still lives up to that reputation! Clearly marked GF menu online, and a good selection of options. Seafood Nachos can be an entree+ all by itself, fresh Gulf seafood including shrimp, Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Amberjack, etc. Several sides are available GF, baked potato is delicious. For sandwiches, they offer an Udi bun with NO up-charge!! Ask for Whitney if she is serving, knowledgeable herself and able to offer other GF places locally.

Our server Jes was fantastic. She helped my 87 year dad get his semi sweet tea just right by making it herself. The gluten free pancakes are the best I have ever had out. Love being able to eat out with lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend.

My fiancé and I recently came to Destin, traveling from Ohio, and really enjoyed the Ruby Slipper Cafe! I am Celiac and he is not and we were both able to enjoy our meals! I got the breakfast sandwich and thought it was great! I got a side of avocado and their pickled onions to add a little extra to the breakfast sandwich itself and it was the perfect addition! If you go to the Destin location and have a gluten allergy, ask for Cati! She is Celiac herself and made the experience wonderful! It was very reassuring to have her know exactly what I could and couldn’t have. Cati was also just a fantastic server in general and made the entire experience incredible! If we come back to Destin, we will definitely be coming back because of Cati and the awesome food!

This place was awesome! Not only super delicious but also a good gluten free selection. The pulled pork was good with a delicious BBQ sauce! Wish they had one near where I live. Definitely would recommend!

We were on vacation in Destin and went to Louisiana Lagniappe on a friend’s recommendation. So happy we did. Service is amazing and food matches the exceptional level of service. Lots of options and some daily specials(We were there on a night they were offering 2 entrees from a preselected menu and wine for 2 for about $65). They have so many options, a gluten free menu, and lots of drink choices as well if you are not a wine drinker. HIGHLY recommend eating here if you are in the Destin/Ft. Walton area.

This food is awesome! They even have gluten free bread and I’ve eaten here twice now and they did it right on the gluten side!! That’s a big plus for me right there. Their meats are top quality and they work hard to get your food out quickly. I highly recommend!!

I went for brunch while shopping in Destin. My server was Sean who was excellent. My avocado omelet was fantastic. I am gluten intolerant so Sean made sure I got gluten free toast with my meal. I will definitely go back there again.

Unfortunately I went here for fire roasted pizza on my honeymoon. I was so disappointed when every staff member was not paying attention to customers while every staff wearing AirPods. When finally ordering, the employees seemed to not want to make anything by saying they didn’t have it. Staff argued with me when I was going to order a gluten free crust (due to allergies) saying that the other crust tastes better and doesn’t cost as much… after spending $40 dollars for a sad salad and pizza and getting it 30 minutes later with us being the only customers they still messed up the order. i felt drawn to share with those who also desire to go… I’m sorry. Also this place is incredibly unsanitary. Food on the floors, dirty counters and utensils. Please save yourself the dissatisfaction and pick somewhere else!

We had an absolutely amazing time at McGuire’s Pub! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of character—exactly what you hope for in a great Irish pub. The rustic charm, cozy lighting, and friendly energy made it a place we instantly felt comfortable in. As someone who eats gluten-free, I was thrilled with the menu options. It's rare to find a place that not only offers gluten-free dishes but does them so well. Every bite was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. And the stout—delicious! Rich, smooth, and perfectly poured. It’s clear they take pride in the drinks they serve. A special shoutout to our server, Victoria H. She was the highlight of our visit—kind, attentive, and full of personality. Since things were a little quiet during our visit, she even took the time to show us around and share some history and fun tidbits about the pub. That kind of personal touch made the experience unforgettable. We’ll absolutely be back—and we’ll be asking for Victoria again! Highly recommend McGuire’s to anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and even better people.

Happy hour between 3-6pm. Great drinks! We had wings, fries, flatbread, fish tacos, jerk tacos and a gluten free grouper sandwich. Joe was super friendly and helpful. Kimmy was wonderful and very attentive with our gluten free customer. Everything was just great.

It’s a must try every time I visit Destin with my family. They have so many amazing breakfast dishes, they also offer plenty of Gluten Free options which we appreciate so much. Their coffee is the best I’ve ever had! So many flavor choices!!!

The entire staff provided exactly what was expected. Our table was ready at the reserved time and our server (Ana) was pleasant and attentive. Once the order was placed the wait was short and done correctly. One in our party required a gluten-free menu and Ana was familiar with that menu and double checked on one item. The evening was very good.

I have celiac and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about what I could have with my dietary restrictions. This is my hubby’s favorite place to go in Destin. The baked oysters are a MUST! My 8 year old even loved them, and he is super picky! We had the mussels as an appetizer and the sauce is exquisite! Thanks for another great experience.

This is my favorite little coffee shop in Destin! The owners are amazing. Staff is always professional, quick, friendly. Their gluten-free sandwiches are the bomb! Coffee is made the order quick, fast, delicious! Great place!

Due to having a gluten allergy, I was told I could order any of the sandwiches without a bun. I decided to be safe and go with the burger. On the menu it lists lettuce, tomato, and some other toppings. My burger came out as a slab of meat with melted cheese and nothing else (as seen in the picture). Add to that the fries that come with the meal are not gluten free. I was told I could substitute my side for something else but there would be a charge. They wanted to charge $8 to substitute the fries for mashed potatoes. Most restaurants when they offer a side that doesn’t meet an allergy, are kind enough to substitute it for no charge. Not this place. Add to that the waitress seemed put out with any questions asked. They were not very helpful. So, I had an overpriced extremely greasy burger patty and fries I couldn’t eat (because I wasn’t going to pay $8 for another side). I had to ask for lettuce and tomato that should have come with the burger.

We had a wonderful dinner last night, Edit took wonderful care of us, very educated about gluten free options, as well as several other staff that stopped by to make sure we were taken care of. Food delicious and while waiting ( briefly) for our dessert, Edit suggested we go out on the porch and take a pic of the sunset, gorgeous setting!

The employees had attitude. The wait time to even get a waitress was 10 mins. We ending up refilling our own water at one point. Then, the food was sub optimal. The only positive I would say is they have gluten free pasta. It’s overpriced and customer service wasn’t great. I definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The food and service was amazing! We are visiting from Colorado and haven’t had pizza this good in a while, especially with all my food allergies. They accommodated so well! I have a gluten allergy, so eating out is definitely not always a pleasant experience, however the folks here were extremely accommodating with an entire gluten-free menu. I am so glad they had this option available. The food was 10/10 and the service as well 10/10. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially if you are on vacation with a gluten-allergy.

The firehouse burger is very hot, but delicious. Great burgers and yummy margaritas. I’d highly recommend getting there early enough to experience their happy hour. We had a group of 8, one with gluten free requirements, and everyone was very happy with their meals.

We havebeen in to Tailfins last two friday nights. I’m celiac and have a soy allergy. Both times in we had same waitress she was very knowledgeable about gluten free items as well as the bat staff in letting me know that all their liquors r high quality. We have been back because of their knowledge for gluten free the food and drinks have been amazing. It’s extremely refreshing to eat at a place where u know they care about your food allergies. as I break out with a crumb on anything or by touching it thanks for being a restaurant that cares. The food was overpriced and the margarita wasn't that good. Great atmosphere though, especially sitting by the railing and watching the boats go by.

Food was decent. Was disappointed when I saw burger and fry on the menu and they were charged separately burger was small and $9... I'm gluten free and the cashier told me they have gluten free buns but then wanted to charge $2... Rather go at a different place order a burger and pay the same and get more food.

The local market is one of my favorite places to regularly have breakfast or lunch. Everything is made fresh and to order. There is a complete gluten-free menu and I highly recommend the watermelon Agua Fresca.

I am at a loss for words. Tonight’s dinner was truly an experience and one I won’t soon forget. I was recently diagnosed with celiacs so we called ahead to make sure the chef could accommodate my gluten allergy. They assured us that it wouldn’t be an issue and took note of our reservation time so that they knew when I would be there. The chef was aware and a menu was brought out to me that had markings on it as to what I could eat. There were even accommodations he could make to certain dishes to make them gluten free. The roasted beet salad was absolutely perfect. I could have eaten just that and been happy. I was also able to eat the whipped ricotta dip and the roasted crab brûlée. Instead of the naan and crostini, they brought out sliced cucumbers for me. I was so pleasantly surprised at the amount of options that I had, but I ultimately decided on the filet and bone marrow risotto for my entree. I didn’t want the meal to end. It was the best meal I’ve had since I’ve had to go gluten free. There was absolutely no room for dessert, so I can’t attest for that. Our waitress, Alise, was so wonderful in every sense. She was so kind and knowledgeable. She genuinely cared about making sure I was taken care of, as the rest of our group. I chose the watermelon strawberry margarita to drink and even that was to die for. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. I’m sad that it will probably be a year before I can come back, but it’s so comforting to know that there is a safe restaurant I could eat at when we’re in the Destin area again!

Custard is gluten free!! 5 ⭐️ Great customer service. The man at the order counter was so polite! The place is tucked away behind Waffle House but definitely a hit around our condo. The line was so long but they served us all within 5 min. They are fast and friendly.

UPDATE: they have a new chef and a new menu. They no longer have the famous shrimp and grits. We both settled for steaks and scallops. The steaks were choice grade and over seasoned. This is still a great place to come for a happy hour drink and watch the sunset. Super friendly staff. Stroll down the road somewhere else for dinner though. A highly trained staff and superb food. Provided a great anniversary experience. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, they were prepared Louisiana style with a tomato-based sauce. My wife had the scallops and said they were exceptional. Gluten-free is very easy here.
