Great place for those with celiac disease or a gluten allergy. I received GF bread and many of the dishes are or can be made GF. They have GF appetizers, pasta, risotto and GF dessert. The service was great.

Excellent restaurant! The only downside is the wait time (about 1 hour) as it is walk-in only and you cannot call to place your name on the waitlist over the phone. Nonetheless, great food and servers. We really appreciated how knowledgeable about they are about gluten allergies. We strongly recommend getting the fresh wasabi (3 dollars extra).

This was our first time and came highly recommended from a local, who comes often. The wait was over an hour but well worth it! All our meals were excellent and they accommodated well for gluten free needs. The orange hummus was incredible. Recommended!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the staff’s kindness. Their matcha is unbelievably smooth, and the pastries are just right not overly sweet but still satisfying. The fact they accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free diets is a huge bonus. It’s a bit small inside, but I’ve always managed to find a seat when I come.

My son and daughter in law took me here for my birthday. We had reservations and were warmly greeted at the door. The old rustic Italian ambience was very inviting. We started out with a Buffalo Mozzarella appertif and the tomatoes were very refreshing. I had the Veal Parmigiano with pasta. The portion of veal was amazing. The flavour of the tomato sauce brought back memories of Sunday dinners at my Zia's when families and neighbours got together for dinner. My son had the Pennette Al Salmone Offumicatto which he said he loves so much he orders all the time. My DIL the Gluten Free Fettuccine Alla Puttanesca. She said the noodles were some of the best GF noodles she has had. The service was great! Would highly recommend!

Sun Bo Kong is hands-down my favorite vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. I bring all my friends and family here, it’s the kind of place that impresses everyone, whether they’re vegan or not. The food is consistently delicious, and the menu is packed with variety. Some of my absolute go-to dishes are the pea tips with enoki mushrooms (so fresh and flavorful), the three kinds of mushroom in seaweed soup (deeply comforting), the vegetable deluxe (a colorful medley done perfectly), and the eggplant and tofu hot pot (a warm, savory favorite). Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of their bean curd dishes either, they know exactly how to make tofu shine. On top of that, the staff are always warm and welcoming, and the owner is an absolute legend, he can do a two-thumb push-up! You can feel the love and pride in every part of this place. The portion sizes are generous, and they have tons of vegan options as well as many gluten-free choices, which makes it easy to bring groups with different dietary needs. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Vancouver, Sun Bo Kong is a must-try.

The place it’s cute with a cover patio, waitress had the perfect interaction (we have found Canada waitressing to be a bit too much in the seek of “tips”) but the girls was just perfect. Food was amazing and pretty much everything on the menu u is gluten free and/or vegetarian which made me (coealiac ) and my partner (vegetarian) very happy. We could eat this food every day

Food was very good. Every dish was interesting. Many Gluten free and dairy free options which is a requirement for my family. Once the order was in, our waiter was hard to find. Unfortunately the kitchen screwed up the timing on the veggies which only arrived after we had consumed the main course. In mitigation, the manager apologized profusely (twice) and the items were removed from the bill.

Located in a historic 1894 heritage house, Espresso Bar & Bistro is a charming spot near Broadway and Cambie. This coffeehouse offers a wide range of options, including: - Pastries - Sandwiches - Breakfast dishes - Vegetarian/Gluten-free options - Cocktails, beer, and wine I've visited Caffe Cittadella multiple times, and it's become one of my favorite spots in the area. I've consistently enjoyed my experiences here. On my latest visit, I tried the Spinach Feta Cheese Pastry, paired with a hot chocolate. I requested a caffeine-free and low-sugar drink, and the staff made it perfectly to my liking. I highly recommend Espresso Bar & Bistro for its cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and accommodating staff.

Nice cafe although I think some of the previously posted pictures are wrong (don’t belong to the cafe). They seem to have the nondairy options for vegetarian or vegan people; however, that doesn’t help me as I don’t want to be forced to drink these so-called “milk”s just because I am lactose intolerant. That is to say, they don’t have lactose free cow’s milk. I can’t have each of the nondairy “milk” options for various medical reasons but in any case it could be the case that I just don’t like them. So I would prefer if they had an actual lactose-free milk option. Because of the reasons described above, I always have to get black coffee or tea. Their coffee is good and they have nice herbal tea options, so it’s not that bad. However I couldn’t try many of their lattes. I tried a matcha latte once with oat milk and it made me sick (as I mentioned I can’t actually have oat milk or any of the other nondairy “milk”s, but I tried it as they didn’t have an option that would work for me—big mistake of mine). And I didn’t try any other latte or any cafe latte. The gluten-free mini loaf was way too sugary. I’d recommend adjusting the ingredients in their recipe. I like the vibes in this cafe. Plenty of tables. The big table by the entrance is good but it is uneven and kind of bothers me. The chair pads are somewhat dirty though and I don’t feel comfortable sitting on the padded chairs. I find the morning staff more friendly than the afternoon staff, although both parties are friendly enough.

First time here in years! I remember coming for their grand opening and back when they introduced their Hawaiian plates! Had a decent poke bowl (I built my own mini guy). I will say their portions were less than what I remembered from my first impressions. My bowl came to $14.18 including tax, which had a base, a sauce, 1 protein option (you pay by the scoop and my salmon was $3), 3 sides, and 1 crunch. It's drastically different compared to say, Steve's Poke Bar, where you can choose unlimited sides for a similar price. I always find it odd when a poke shop limits customers' number of "crunches" as the cost must be so minor to produce - items like furikake, fried onions, fried garlic, sesame seeds, etc. It would go a long way to allow people to have more than one as a topper. The sesame mayo sauce was great and I was told it didn't have dairy (milk/eggs) in it. I had the shoyu Atlantic salmon, with corn, edamame, and imitation crab. On the plus side, the staff were kind and patient as I ordered. I was asking about items with gluten/dairy due to a sensitivity, and they seemed to know their menu. They get quite a few online orders through delivery apps, as most people during a weekday lunch hour took their food to-go.

Wow! I brought my 13 yr old out to breakfast, and found this cute little coffee, café, bistro? Kranky's has a little of everything, and it is mostly made there, fresh! The owner and waitstaff were super friendly, kind(helped us find a tasty choice for me(I have Celiac), and had a joyful small-talk conversation with our daughter about her choices on a future pet :) Thank you, Cat, Hope? and ummm, dagnabit! The owner!! I know, I know her name, it is just out of my reach right now.

Brother ordered the Lamb Shank $36 Mother ordered the Wild Salmon Salad $15-17 Myself ordered the Pork Belly Bowl $20 Order Total came out to be about $76 Service was good. Kept refilling our water. Atmosphere didn't match the food because it made me think more of a Bar Grill rather than an Asian fusion restaurant. The Food made us feel like we tossed money for mostly Salad. Lamb Shank Dish has no Rice, Just a bone with a tiny bit of meat on top of a bed of Salad. This felt like the most rip off scam of them all. For something very highly priced. You can go to other surrounding restaurants for Lamb, same portions for a 1/3rd of the price. Wild Salmon Salad. Thin slices of salmon on top a bed of Salad. Crunched up peanuts and Edamame. With the portion ratio. At the same price you can get Fish and Chips. Offering you more substantially more portion to fill your stomach. Pork Belly Bowl. For something Gluten Sensitive. There's barely any Rice nor Pork Belly. 3 slices of pork belly, a bit of salad and rice lesser than a small bowl that goes for less than $5. $20 just makes you feel guilty for eating there not in a good way at all. Aesthetically the food is pleasing to the eyes in terms of appearance. Portion and ratio of ingredients are very poor. The Plating doesn't make up for how much money was thrown out of our pockets.

The food was amazing! And the staff were phenomenal under such busy conditions. We were accommodated as walk ins (we were there 10-15 mins prior to dinner service opening) and the staff sat us at the bar. My wife and I are both gluten intolerant, and the staff were so accommodating. The cocktails were fantastic. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had from every perspective: quality of food, friendliness of the wait and bar staff and the excellent drinks. Made our stay in Vancouver a lot better!

We sat at the chef’s table and ordered the chef’s tasting menu and it was a delight! Perfect amount for 2 people, it’s a wonderful journey through some of the best dishes they have to offer. Everything is vegan, and can be made gluten free upon request. Lovely staff, beautiful place, and you pay for what you get for and you wanna get on this Folke train, trust me!
