Crepe Heaven for anyone with celiac!! All savory crepes are gluten free and sweet crepes can be made to be gluten free!! I got the ham and cheese and it was amazing!!
One of the few, if not only gluten free and vegan restaurants in the area. I will definitely be back. My pesto sandwich was awesome. The cookies are a hit too 🙌🏿
This is always one of my favorite places to visit in Charleston! They have a large gluten-free menu and take any allergies very seriously! The food is always amazing! Lunch or dinner, it’s always so good!
An all around spectacular meal. First the service was first class from the greeting and seating to the table service. Every single dish was fantastic but the Beef Carpaccio and BBQ Tuna really stood out. Great selection of Gluten Free options on the menu, very accommodating. Thank you for the wonderful visit, can't wait to return.
This is an amazing restaurant! Great for a date night! They offer gluten-free pizza cooked in a separate oven and GF pasta cooked in separate water. We got the prosciutto board with gluten-free bread and the Spicy Soppressata pizza. It was absolutely amazing!!!
Always a nice dining experience for a special occasion or just a great dinner overall. They pay so much attention to detail to every dish and are willing to modify anything they can to make it GF. They have a separate fryer. I always get the fried okra coated in corn meal for an appetizer! The pepper jack creamed corn without the breadcrumbs is amazing!! The burrata salad needs to be ordered without the breadcrumbs on top. Their steaks are always delicious!!
A lovely restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We went for brunch and there were a few GF options on the menu. I was a little taken back that the chef was unwilling to modify a dish by substituting chicken for shrimp. I ended up with a salad and added chicken to it. My husband’s food came out cold with a film over it. I’ve heard such great things about this restaurant, so was a little disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day.
I was there for brunch, which is a little more difficult for GF options than dinner. No pancakes, no biscuits, no gravy, no fried chicken. They can modify some of the menu items to be GF. I got the short rib dirty rice with fried egg bc it didn’t need to be modified. The deviled eggs were amazing. I will say that they do want to accommodate wherever they can, but it is difficult with the breaded and fried items. I will go back for dinner some time though.
This was our 2nd time here...
We went for my birthday and truly enjoyed it again!! Our sever Molly was beyond fantastic!!
She truly made my birthday so special!! The food was delicious! We had the she crab soup, calamari, loaded mash potatoes and the Ribeye!! All gluten free!!!!!
And when we told Molly we just couldn't eat anymore she was so sweet and brought me some strawberries and whipped cream with a candle so I could make my birthday wish
❤️❤️❤️ which is so important to me ☺️☺️☺️
We truly recommend everything about high cotton!!
Great little place with a nice selection on the menu. They do accommodate gluten-free although it's not their specialty. You can get a $6 yuengling draft or pay as much as you want for mixed drinks. They truly have something for everyone.
I was there with my daughter who has some food allergies. They make any dishes on their menu to your liking. She had the linguine which they were able to make gluten free and duck breast with simple spices as she wanted. They make wonderful dishes here. This was not the first time we had dinned here but unfortunately it might be out last due to their parking. When we got to our car it had a boot on it. The owner of the lot thought we were dishonest people and called the authorities to boot our car. I still had to pay the fine to get it off. Please be careful when you park here. It's a good thing that Charleston has other restaurants that are even better then this one. Thank you
Service was friendly and quick, espresso tasted great - not too burnt - and the gluten free waffle was delicious! The interior left a little to be desired, but overall it was a good little shop.
Ms. Rose’s Fine Food is a treat in Charleston! The food was absolutely delicious—highly recommend the avocado burger with the gluten-free bun, which was sturdy, flavorful, and a perfect match. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans was another standout. Don’t leave without trying the brisket fries—mouthwatering! The restaurant is spacious, the staff is warm and welcoming, and our waitress Raven gave top-notch service with great recommendations for us first-timers. We’ll definitely be back!
Love this spot as my coffee stop before church every Sunday. They offer a good selection of vegan and/or gluten free options and excellent coffee and espresso drinks. The seating areas are aesthetic and peaceful, also.
A must for breakfast or brunch! They have a gluten friendly menu if you ask. They have a dedicated cooking space and fryer for GF food and they offer GF bread for burgers/sandwiches. The French toast is amazing!!
I ordered the fried bologna sandwich on gluten free bread. The gf bread was good. The quality of the food was delicious, although everything is overpriced given sides are à la carte. I got the home fries as a side, and the portion size is very small for what you get. With the price, lack of quantity, and lack of gluten free options, I wouldn’t recommend. Menu items say cornmeal, but they also use flour, so not gluten free…disappointing.
We did 2 gluten free and 1 regular biscuit. These were the BEST Gluten Free biscuits we've ever had! The regular biscuit was absolutely amazing also. We got lucky and did not have to wait so long in the line but noticed many were coming back letting the staff know that their order was wrong. We made sure we checked ours before we left and it was also wrong. They threw away our GF ones and remade them. After trying how good the biscuit was, I went back to get another GF one but was told there were no more GF left. I was upset since I am not local and really wanted another one, if they would have gotten the orders right the first time, there would have been 2 more GF biscuits and many others they threw out before ours. I decided to buy the GF mix to bring back home.
Delicious! Simply delicious! Affordable seafood with high end taste profile. Excellent service with Vladislav. That secret sauce is dangerous!!! They also have a gluten free and a vegan menu for those who like options!
We came with a large party and our server was great! Quick, attentive, knowledgeable about what was celiac safe on the menu which is a huge plus for me! Everything we had was so good, food and drinks! Would love to check out their patio next time.
Always a fabulous meal. Lots of gluten free options, and they’re clearly marked on the menu. The dishes are continually changing, and I love that they update the menu for the day on their website by noon. It’s a very homey and relaxed atmosphere. It’s small enough that you don’t feel crowded and you don’t have to yell to the others at the table to converse. We’ve been several times, and will definitely continue to go.
They offer 3 GF desserts. It was really hard to see the peanut butter chocolate cupcake and not be able to have it, but the chocolate mousse tart was delicious. It’s a great place to pick up dessert!
A Divine Experience at Church and Union Brunch!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Church and Union Brunch in historic Charleston, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! This unique establishment, nestled within the walls of a beautifully rehabbed old church, seamlessly blends history, ambiance, and culinary excellence.

Whether you're a local or a visitor to Charleston, this establishment is a must-visit for those seeking an exquisite brunch in a setting that pays homage to the city's rich heritage.
(Only complaint is there is no option of gluten free bread or toast for the brunch or burgers)
Best breakfast/brunch we’ve had in Charleston. Would highly recommend. Service was great & fast. Our waitress Amelia was kind & attentive. We loved the vibes & just what we were looking for. They also had gluten free toast which was an added bonus for me.
This place is absolutely amazing! The tacos are delicious and the salsa and queso are some of the best my family and I have ever had. We were so caught up in the food that we forgot to take pictures, but thankfully my girlfriend managed to snap a photo of her tres leches cake before we devoured it! The service was excellent. The only thing Taco Boy needs is some of my hotsos ;)
A great place for dinner with a beautiful waterfront view. Nothing is labeled GF on the menu, but a lot of their items are naturally GF or can be modified to be gluten free. For example, they can cook the brussel sprouts and potatoes in a pan rather than in the fryer. Or leave the bread off of the burrata appetizer. They are very knowledgeable about celiac and can customize your meal in their open view kitchen. They also have a rooftop bar which is more casual.

A great place for authentic Chinese food. GF options are listed on the menu and are cooked separately. I called before going in and they were very helpful and understood celiac. They do not have GF soy sauce, but you can bring your own in. My dish was fine without it.
Their gluten free bread is delish. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The outdoor seating was very relaxing. A great hidden gem downtown for some good food.
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Henry's today. I have celiac disease so need gluten free options and they had their options labeled on the menu. One of the options was the Steak Frites, but when I asked if they fried the fries in a separate fryer, unfortunately they said they don't have a clean fryer for gluten free fries. I don't think the Steak Frites should be labeled gluten free if they aren't going to accommodate a separate fryer for the fries. It is very important to be careful about cross contamination for people with celiac disease. Otherwise, the meal and the experience were great. Just be careful and make sure to speak up about your gluten allergy

Wonderful dinner experience with delicious food. They had sliced cucumber to have with the saganaki and the gluten free shrimp santorini was so warm and tasty.
I was in town with a dear friend for a conference, and got to celebrate her birthday with dinner. I called the day of to see if they could make her feel special. The hostess offered a slice of cake while being sung happy birthday. I told her my friend is gluten-free and wouldn't love being sung to. Sylvie got on the phone and told me they have a gluten-free dessert, agreed to put flowers on her table, and told me the manager (Brian) would make her feel special. Boy, did they exceed my expectations! When we checked in, they immediately catered to us. Brian was waiting at the hostess stand and introduced us to our server (Andrew). We had a lovely table by the window facing the park' including a small but classy vase of flowers. The water in the vase had a tinge of green, making me think they were originally used elsewhere in the hotel. LO V E multi-purpose ingenuity! Avoided extra cost to me (and them) while meaning so much to us! The ambiance is elegant yet simple. The piano player was great! Live piano was a plus! The room wasn't too loud, could still enjoy him. Noise level wasn't distracting. Andrew was knowledgeable about the menu, covertly attentive, and very courteous. The restaurant offers a good variety of gluten-free options (clearly marked on the menu). We finished dinner, I caught Andrew's attention, and he surprised my friend with a candle in a piece of gluten-free chocolate cake. Delightful. The experience was one of the best I've had (and I am no stranger to fine dining). Oh yea, and the food was to die for 😅 ( we shared a pear salad, she got the salmon, and I enjoyed the braised short rib pasta).
To the staff: You all were phenomenal. I'm sure many deserve thanks, but specifically Sylvie, Brian, and Andrew. You all helped my friend feel very special. I can easily say that was the best dining experience I've had. Sure, I enjoyed the food, but I've never had anyone coordinate with such care and attentiveness. Thank you.
We came for breakfast and tried a bit of everything. Honestly, we were not impressed with the food or the coffee. It was really good that gluten free bread was availble as one of us was gluten intorleant, so that's super. However the watermelon salad lacked any flavor and the chicken waffles were OK (waffles were a tad soggy). Overall, there are some improvement areas in the food department.
Brandon B. gave us outstanding service. My wife has multiple food allergies (Gluten and Dairy) and they were extremely accommodating! There were 5 of us and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed our experience. She crab soup was voted best in the city by everyone in our group (and we had a lot while in Charleston) and the up charge for the smoke experience in a cocktail is so worth it! If you’re vacillating between what restaurant to eat at…GO HERE!!!!!!
Went for dinner with a group of friends while visiting Charleston. We ordered a lot of different items - all were flavorful and paced well so we didn’t have too many plates on the table at once. The service was fantastic. The gluten free dessert was surprisingly delicious. Off street parking was a plus.
We had the loco oysters, crispy fish sandwich and the deviled crab cake sandwich. They did not have gluten-free bread but they did accommodate by making a salad out of my crab cake sandwich. Everything was very good, loved it!
Great brunch spot. Been here a few times now enjoyed it ever time. Great menu, great food, great service. Highly recommend. Oh and great gluten free menu available.
The gluten free options are gluten free toast and allegedly oatmeal and granola. The food is delicious here but they don't have any gf pancakes or French toast which is what our 6yo with celiac really wanted. All cooking happens on same surfaces as well. Frustrating that the options were pretty limited.
Quirky, hole-in-the-wall sort of breakfast place. Absolutely DELICIOUS crepes, including the gluten-free variety. This was one of the best breakfast places we had while in Charleston, and I highly recommend. Street parking was easy and close.
if you’re looking for the best chips and guacamole in town, you gotta check this place out! The guacamole is incredibly fresh and packed with flavor, and the warm, crispy chips are perfect. Honestly, it is the best I have ever had. While I am not sure where they source their ingredients, you can truly taste the quality.
The owner is a total sweetheart, making the whole atmosphere of the place very welcoming. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers, which is so nice.
Do not skip the tacos—they are just as amazing and definitely worth a try! They are also extremely considerate of dietary restrictions. My friend with celiac found plenty of options, making it very easy for us to order.
They have a fantastic selection of nonalcoholic beverages that pairs perfectly with the food. All in all, this spot has won me over, and I cannot wait to go back for more deliciousness. Highly recommended!
Always great service and food. Family friendly, gluten free options and they have their own parking lot which is helpful for locals who want to get something to eat while downtown. One of our favorite spots 😊
This is a small food stall at the Charleston City Market. We were looking for a place with gluten-free breakfast options, and we're so glad we stopped! The gluten-free biscuits are delicious. My non gf husband enjoyed his sausage, egg & pimento cheese as well. There is very little outdoor seating, so be prepared for the possibility of taking an order to go or eating standing up.
All the things you expect in southern hospitality and food. We had a big group and we all fit comfortably in our seating. Food came quickly and drinks were good. As expected most food was fried and few pork free, vegan or gluten free options.
I loved it we would def go back! There are a lot of new restaurants here and I’m not always a fan but Lenoir is great, I highly recommend!
They have a gluten free menu which is always a plus! We were there at 8 pm and it took a while for drinks and food because they were pretty busy, but that just tells you that it’s good 😎.
The drinks were awesome and pretty strong. The apps were amazing and large (enough for 2-3 ppl). I loved the tomato pie, fries, and fried collards. I liked my entree but I would def go back and just order a bunch of apps.
My recommendation: Go with a few friends and just drink, eat and have a good time, it’s a great atmosphere!
