I love the food at Vertical Diner. Everything is vegan and there are many clearly labeled gluten free options. Once in a while the service is “off,” but I’ve been going here for years and it is one of my favorite places to eat in SLC.
Very busy for dinner time, however the server was very helpful and attentive. She made sure to go over the cheeses and the types of food they serve since was our first time. Amazing pizzas. They were able to accommodate a special diet vegetarian and a gluten allergy with no issues. Love that you can choose from either sitting inside or outside to sit. The drink menu is extensive with soo many choices and varieties. You can even build your own pizza. Great place to try. Highly recommend!!
We've been going here for a while now. My husband happens to know the owners and their staff is super nice every time we go in. I love how authentic their Pakistani food is and the spice level is insane! Our favorites to get is the curry chicken, any of their veggies and of course, the samosas. Thank you for staying throughout the years and sticking around through the pandemic. I wish them nothing but continued success. If you are visiting Utah and want to try something different and you are in a "hurry" this place is for you! PS: all of their curry is gluten free.
The drag brunch was so much fun, the food was delicious, they had multiple gluten-free options, the drinks were affordable, and the staff were kind and responsive. Will absolutely be back!
I initially chose this place because it is wheelchair accessible. It did not disappoint. It is a lovely and spacious cafe. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. Coffee is great! I wish they had a slightly larger baked good selection but they did have a gluten free and vegan option. And what we had was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
Food is always good. Atmosphere could be improved its cold and dirty. They have good gluten free and vegetarian options. Expect a 0.56 noncash surcharge for card payment. Prices a bit high for type of food.
My husband ordered the Hot Chopped Cheese Sandwich and LOVED it. Left no crumbs, no notes. ❤️
I ordered the Kimchi Grilled Cheese with Gluten free bread. It was actually pretty good, the Kimchi on grilled cheese is a nice idea. My only issue is that the cheese tasted like Kraft Single American Cheese which has a very weird taste to it. Would be a 10/10 with a better cheese.
I went here with 3 other people. I like the ultimate platter to share. Our waitress recommended that as it's their culture to share food with friends. Great food. Great space. Food is not too spicy. The bread is gluten free, so light and spongy. This is definitely one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I've ever been to
If you’re looking for good sushi in salt lake I highly recommend coming to Sapa. Dan was our server and was amazing at accommodating me and my friends gluten allergy!

I am gluten free and 95% of the options were items I could eat. Everything was absolutely delicious!! I also FELT really good after I ate here as well. The vibes there are so good! You can tell that the owner really put his heart into everything there. The staff - all so friendly and attentive. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. Highly recommend.
This place was delish. Little pricey BUT the service and food were so good. I have celiac and the server told me specifically what I couldn’t have (super knowledgeable) and everything she recommended was original and mouthwatering great.
Skillets is the best!! The biggest portions ever! I eat gluten free (I have celiac disease) and their bread is phenomenal. It’s so difficult to find places that offer breakfast sandwiches on gluten free. We have been here twice now and their food is consistently delicious! My personal favorite is the pastrami with tots as a side and my fiancé loves their breakfast burrito. Each dish is full of flavor - their sauces are too good. Will has helped us each time, he is incredibly kind and always has a smile on his face. 10/10 would recommend this place to everyone! :)
TLDR: The best (and only) authentic Thai food in the valley. Food is authentically spicy on a 0-5 scale. I recommend ordering 0 for mild, 1 for medium, 2 or 3 for hot.
I have spent a lot of time abroad setting up and running healthcare clinics in remote areas of the world. One such place was in the mountains of northern Thailand. I've been chasing (and failing) to find those flavors in the valley for over a decade.
Thai in the valley come up short. Pad Thai that tastes like ketchup?! I mean what is that about?! Well... NOT SO AT ARANYA!
This place is AUTHENTIC Thai food, a first for SLC. I literally drive past several other Thai places to get the food from here. Service is friendly and responsive. The ambiance feels like I'm back in Chiang Mai with the red seats and modest decor.
Other SLC Thai places, take note.
Oh, and we have severe gluten allergies that were no problem for them to accommodate.
Tip: Unsurprisingly, they spice their food *authentically* HOT on a 0-5 scale. I recommend the following spice #'s: 0 for mild, 1 for medium, 2/3 for hot. 4 and 5 should be reserved for people with something to prove. You can also get the spice on the side and spice your dishes yourself.
As a gluten-free dairy free individual who often makes cross country trips via I 80 this has been added to my Salt Lake City stop list.
The Clubhouse massacre held up spectacularly (even with my alterations for diet). Good thick cut turkey that gives no impression of deli meat. Cold Brew that categorized as top 10 (a highly valued and vital part of my road trips).
To stop and derail into the city is not a light consideration for me, and I plan on doing it every time I can.
Also their bathroom was impressive and deserves a 10/10 review in itself. 🌈🚽
This place is always PUMPING. It is right by Smiths Ballpark therefore right by my house. I have tried something here that may have been a veggie burger or something since I don’t eat meat.
I have annoying food restrictions, I’m every restaurants worst nightmare! I don’t know if I’m celiac because they never tested me for it, but I do know I’m super gluten intolerant and same goes for dairy intolerant as well as an allergy to dairy.
Let the fun begin folks!! Their burgers are suppose to be some of the best. I haven’t had them but from everyone that has they have ranted and raved so I always think of what meat eater I can recommend a killer burger here!
Quaint little Mexican place with multiple gluten free options (meats, corn tortillas for tacos and quesadillas, nachos and salads are all gf). Nice atmosphere with an authentic flavor. Would go again.
