Very affordable! Bright, clean, and with plenty of space. The food was delicious. Lots of options on the menu and meals for everyone (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) The employees were respectful and friendly. I will definitely be back!
TL;DR:
Visited Casa Manila a few weeks ago, excited to try a new cuisine. Staff assured me dishes were gluten-free — they weren’t. I got sick. When I raised it, management dismissed my concerns and showed no accountability. They also spoiled my birthday surprise by mentioning the expected cake with candle. Extremely disappointing. If you have dietary restrictions, avoid this place.

I visited Casa Manila for the first time and was excited to try a new cuisine. I appreciated the time and care they seemed to put into maintaining a well-labelled menu.
My sister arrived before I did and arranged for a candle to be added to the free birthday ice cream for me. The server told me about the surprise ahead of time, spoiling it, but I was still looking forward to the experience.
Unfortunately, the staff misguided me on what was gluten-free.
Server 1 said they could accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free and that the adobo could be made gluten-free, after confirming with the kitchen.
Server 2 said everything was fine except the jasmine rice, which was odd, but he confirmed after checking that the rice vermicelli could be made gluten-free.
After eating, I started feeling off and asked whether the dishes used soy sauce. Server 2 admitted they did, and I had to explain that regular soy sauce contains gluten unless a gluten-free version is used. He clearly didn’t know what he was talking about, so I requested the chef come out.
A lady came and instead of addressing the issue seriously, asked if I was just feeling "guilty" for eating gluten. I explained it’s a medical issue and that I was misled despite asking directly. She said customers are responsible for reading labels, but servers should not confidently recommend unsafe options. She admitted they had never dealt with this situation before.
I asked what they could do for me, but she offered no solution. I told her I wouldn’t be paying and left.
I cradled a bad stomachache and prepared for the onset of hives.
Extremely disappointed. If you have any dietary restrictions, be very careful — or better yet, go somewhere else.
We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Vanessa. She was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, especially when it came to accommodating a celiac allergy. Vanessa took the time to walk us through the gluten-free options, double-checked with the kitchen, and made sure everything was safe and delicious. Her friendly and professional approach made the whole experience feel easy and stress-free. Highly recommend—ask for Vanessa if you have dietary needs or just want great service!
One of my favourite go to places in the area! The crepes, sugarcane juice, mojito, and the mushroom soup are SO good. The owner and the employees (shout out to Kian!) are extremely nice, and professional. They set the customer service standard really high! So, kudos to the owner for creating such a welcoming and kind environment.
The food items are made in-house so not only are the crepes delicious, but guilt free or at least on the healthier side. They also have gluten free options - so they’re very accommodating when it comes to dieters accommodations! They also prepare the food pretty fast - so you’re in and out quickly.
Thanks for always providing great food and service - I’ll see you guys soon!
My go-to burrito place. They have many gluten free options, including a gluten free burrito. Their chicken burrito, steak burrito, and the chips and guac are fantastic. The burritos consistently have a good amount and dispersement of filling, and a great crunch. The burritos are also structurally sound - we don't often end up with the filling spilling out. In addition to the tasty food, the service is great. An overall great experience that I'll continue coming back for.
I've been to this place before and had quite a pleasurable experience. I came back for the last evening of Winterlicious. I made a reservation and they seated my self and one other person right away. It took over 25 minutes for a waiter to come check in. After one did (she apologized for the wait and said she wasn't even supposed to be our waitress) then 5 minutes later someone else came (over 30 mins total). The restaurant had some tables but it really wasn't too busy. The meal took a VERY long time to come out. The only decent thing was the Apetizers, but the food took so long to come it wasnt worth sending it back and waiting for more. The dessert did come quickly. Both meals were plain and tasted like nothing special. They were able to accommodate for a gluten allergy. I was disappointed since I have had such good experiences there before.
If you're looking for a fast food outlet that serves up more than just your average burger, Hero Burgers is a solid choice. With a menu that caters to a variety of tastes—whether you're a beef lover, a veggie enthusiast, or someone seeking gluten-free options—Hero Burgers manages to balance indulgence and inclusivity.
Their burgers are known for their bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfectly grilled patties. The build-your-own-burger option is a standout feature, letting you customize every bite to suit your cravings. Don't sleep on the sides either—the crispy sweet potato fries and onion rings are crowd favorites.
the staff is generally friendly and eager to make your experience enjoyable.
For 2, we didn't have to wait long. The table was small so couldn't put food and drinks around comfortably.
Server was nice, but a little slow and forgot we ordered the drinks first.
My food was delicious. I would recommend the Chicken Riesling. The dessert were great sizes and tasty. The gluten-free most popular dish (whatever it was called) was disappointing.
Free bread, but the prices were overall overpriced.
Free bread!
Visited Safari Bar and Grill for the first time on a Sunday night. The wait staff and bartender where incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. The food was fresh, cooked as requested, hot and delicious AND they have a huge selection of food for gluten sensitive individuals. The patio was covered and heated, which will be very useful when it rains or gets colder, and there was a great games room upstairs. It was a truly memorable visit, and I hope to return soon!
Fantastic gluten free crust, pesto, plant based pepperoni , dairy-free cheese, broccoli, and pineapple. Perfectly prepared and delivered hot and fresh.
Excellent!! every time I order from this Pizza Pizza location.
The food was super good and they added crushed chips to the bowls. I liked that there is a gluten free tortilla option and that they have mango salsa.
The staff was super nice and an overall great experience!
A wide-ranging Italian themed menu. Absolutely everything I’ve eaten there has been excellent: beef, lamb, fish, pasta, vegetable cooked to perfection. Friendly, unpretentious service. Offers summer patio, high-backed booths, bar, and event room in the rear. Vegetarian and gluten-free options. Lots of parking.
Slice N Bites is a pillar to the Toronto Jewish community. I have ordered from here many times, be it for a work event, a Shabbat dinner, or to feed my husband’s Pizza addiction.
Their pizza is so good. The toppings, which range anywhere from your classic cheese to a “meaty” Hawaiian, are incredible. I really appreciate the variety of choices and the high quality products they choose.
Their sushi is a staple in my orders- especially when I have to consider dietary restrictions. Vegans & gluten free individuals can look no further- Slice N Bites has the best sushi for you. At an event, this is always the first item to go fast- because people know how good Slice N Bites does it.
As of July ‘24- Slice N Bites is a participant on UberEat’s Happy Hour promo every day from 2-5pm, where you can get 25% off your order (with no limit).
Additionally, you can occasionally find Slice N Bites on TooGoodToGo, where I always receive generous portions.
Thank you Slice N Bites - you guys are truly the best. ❤️
Pizza Pizza is a convenient choice for a quick and satisfying meal in ellesmere . Their menu offers a wide variety of options, from classic pizzas to innovative creations, making it easy to find something for everyone.
What I liked:
• Quality: The crust is consistently well-baked, with a nice balance between crispy and chewy. Toppings are fresh, and the cheese has that perfect stretch.
• Variety: I appreciate the customizable options, including vegan cheese, cauliflower crust, and gluten-free choices for dietary preferences.
• Service: The staff is friendly and efficient, and delivery is usually on time.
• Deals: The value combos and discounts make it an affordable option without compromising on taste.
A special shoutout to Gautami, who provided exceptional service during my visit. She was welcoming, attentive, and ensured my order was prepared just right. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism truly enhanced my experience.
Room for improvement:
• Sometimes the pizza can feel a little under-seasoned, but that’s easily fixed with their wide range of dips.
• During peak hours, delivery can be slightly delayed, but the team is communicative about wait times.
Overall, Pizza Pizza on ellesmere is a reliable spot for tasty pizza at a reasonable price. Whether you’re dining in, ordering takeout, or getting delivery, it’s a solid choice for pizza lovers.
The place is always clean and the staff are always friendly.
I have celiac disease and the people always change their gloves to reduce chances of cross contamination.
Great time catching up with my friend - really appreciated the complimentary bubbles and the help with choosing gluten-free. Wonderful service from Shenelle and will definitely be back!
Landwer Café is my favorite place for breakfast or brunch. I had the Rustico Omelette and it was super tasty. Their Americano coffee is really good too, nice and strong. I’m obsessed with their crushed potato and tahini sauce . I love that they have a lot of healthy options, plus gluten-free and vegetarian choices too. I went on a weekday morning, and it wasn’t busy, so the service was really quick. My server, Shaurya, was amazing — super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!
Delicious authentic Chinese dishes. Very good Chinese restaurant with some adaptations to be gluten and lactose intolerant sensitive. Most Chinese food is safe for Lactose intolerant people, but any exception for gluten or lactose are marked in the menu. Great place to eat, 10/10 or 100%
I truly appreciate how the servers go out of their way to accommodate my dietary restrictions (I’m celiac and have a severe dairy allergy). For my upcoming birthday, they surprised my friend and I with a sparkler-topped shot since I couldn’t have any desserts, which was such a caring and thoughtful gesture.
I gave the food 4 stars because while everything I’ve had is delicious, I wish there were more than just 2 or 3 menu options for those with gluten restrictions. The atmosphere also gets 4 stars because during my last few visits, I noticed some tension among the staff that was audible, especially near the sushi bar. However, the service was otherwise excellent, and I wish I remembered the name of our server—she was absolutely lovely. I’ll definitely be returning for Shuck and Buck!
Food is amazing 🤩 but I do have an issue as to why there are no gluten free pasta and pizza in the Don Mills menu….I know the Queen location has gluten free pasta but in this day and age with so many food sensitivities and allergies they should be readily available at all Good Son locations!!
