You can sprout a new love for gluten-free eats at this local cafe, and you'll hardly miss the gluten. The sandwich is as satisfying as it looks, with ingredients that come together to deliver a delicious bite where basil is the star. They also have a mini side salad, but I opted for an orange almond cake too, and the citrusy addition pairs nicely with the sweet, nutty almond base.

! Celiac disease friendly !
So many options/substitutions for celiacs. My husband was able to enjoy a breakfast sandwich with home fries... that looked and tasted great! The pricing was fair and affordable which was also a plus. This will be our go to spot when visiting Toronto.
Wow! I was visiting from the states for a concert that got cancelled but I guess that was a blessing in disguise as that gave us a chance to stop here to eat. The owner/server was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic! I have celiac so I was absolutely drawn here for the GF options. They asked about dietary restrictions up front and I felt comfortable and safe. The food was delicious and my non GF fiancé loved it as well. Dedicated fryers are hard to come by (at least back home) so I took advantage of having one of my old favorites, poutine! It was perfectly layered so each bite was tasty, not like a lot of places that will just dump the gravy and cheese on top leaving you with a plate of dry fries underneath. It was also my first crab cake in years, and it really took me back to the Lexington Market in Baltimore when I was younger (it was actually better). The margarita hit the spot and the homemade hot sauce was super tasty. I will 100% be stopping back next time in I’m Toronto, thank you so much!!!
I came here to dine in last weekend for the first time, closer to their closing time and was greeted very nicely and food was very amazing! I love all gluten free idea. My drink was a bit bitter so i went and asked for a different drink, the supervisor (im assuming, short brown guy) was very rude to me and said, “what do you want then?” And then slammed the drink on the floor. This is ridiculous behaviour. I understand the hurry to close but this is not the way to go!

I am embarrassingly obsessed with the sriracha pineapple cauliflower wings here. They’re gluten-free, dairy-free, sweet, spicy, crispy, and served on a bed of crunchy kale. It’s technically an appetizer it’s honestly a full meal lol. The portion is huge and so so good. Whenever I’m hungry and don’t know what I want, my boyfriend knows to just pick these up for me and I’ll be a happy girl.
We’re moving out of the city soon, so they shared the recipe for the wings and the sauce with me for when I’m craving it - 10/10 staff.
Whether you're plant-based or not, get them.
Wow! Really enjoyed everything about Vela, I can’t believe I waited so long to try it! Went tonight for an anniversary dinner, and was very impressed with the food, service, and vibes. They are so accommodating for gluten free, the pasta was delicious and there was something to choose from throughout the whole menu that was gluten free! Only item pictured that wasn’t gluten free was the burrata canestri pasta. Missing was the gf brownie which was also so yummy!
Had to come back to this spot for a slap up breakfast. Conveniently located around the corner from where East meets West (King St). The menu is filled with options for anyone, with a nicely elevated complementary pairing of flavours and gluten free options above and beyond bacon and eggs.
It’s a bit on the noisy side with the open kitchen so if you or your party are sensitive to noise I’d keep that in mind. Reservations recommended - it’s busy because it’s good!
Shout out to Jill who remembered us from our trip last summer :) all of the staff who served us today were wonderful!
I love Beertown. Not just because they satisfy my foodie cravings for meat, nutrition and flavour…but also because they cater to the dairy and gluten-free side of me with an ENTIRE MENU OF GOODNESS.
This cozy cafe had an amazing selection of delicious and beautiful treats.
Vegan, gluten-free, savoury and sweet....it met all our needs!!!! We will make this a regular stop between Ottawa and Kitchener !!!!
A great place to create your own gluten-free bowl, just the way you like it. A special mention for their paleo pecan pie bar: delicious 🤤
Build-your-own gluten-free bowls + their paleo pecan pie bar = 🤤
Dave's Genuine is comfort food—pure and simple—especially if you grew up eating deli sandwiches, or Kosher favorites like matzoh ball soup. The turkey club is probably my favorite sandwich of all time, and Dave's Genuine makes a killer one. Best of all, it can be made gluten-free—safe for someone who has Celiac disease, like me. In fact, Dave's Genuine makes a real effort to accommodate gluten allergies because the owner's daughter also has Celiac, so he understands the ins and outs of cross contamination. In my most recent order, Dave's even sent me a free batch of fries with a kind note on it, promising they're prepared separately and fried in their own GF fryer. After trying these fries for the first time—crispy and light, by the way—I knew I needed to write this review. The customer service here is truly impeccable, and so is the quality of the food. Pro-tip: Try the smoked meat, it's insanely good.
They have a lot of different waffles choices on the menu. I ordered the Churros one with some cinnamon sugar and syrup on the waffles. It was delicious and i love it.
The environment was nice, good for people who want to chill or gathering with friends.
They also have gluten free and vegan options. Good for vegan people to enjoy waffles.
One thing a little bit inconvenient to me is they only accept debit/cash. not really a big deal but just i prefer pay in credit card.
As a Celiac, it can be difficult to find restaurants where I can safely eat. I dropped in to No Bull for lunch just to see if they could accommodate my diet and was amazed at just how prepared they were. The beef has no filler, they have gluten-free buns and they even have a dedicated fryer (which isn’t a perfect guarantee but I didn’t react to the fries). The server was cheerful and helpful, the food tasted great, I was only sorry the outside patio wasn’t opened because it was the first sunny day in a week! At least I have a safe place to eat in the Beach.
Love this place! So many gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options that are actually delicious! The atmosphere is also very cute and the rooftop patio is lovely! Expect to come by when you have some time to relax and enjoy the experience as the food doesn’t always come out super fast but it’s been delicious every time
Our server, Imaan was also absolutely lovely!
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to sip overpriced coffee in a space curated entirely for instagram but devoid of real warmth - congrats, you've found it. This place doesn't know if it wants to be a cafe, a store, or something else entirely so it excels at nothing. Vegan or not vegan? Keto or not keto? Gluten free or gluten? Caters to "everyone" but if you have severe allergies the cross contamination risk is high. The "community" is more like a rotating cast of people conveniently used for photo ops.
Absolutely loved the brunch here, including the space, the food, and the friendly service. The menu strikes a great balance between sweet and savory, with lighter options like crêpes and heartier ones like waffles (including a gluten-free choice). I had the Spinach and Feta crêpe, which was delicious. The touch of sumac added a zesty, flavorful kick. The hash browns were small, crispy on the outside, and soft inside. The patio is tiny but feels private and peaceful. So happy to have discovered this gem in the Beach neighborhood!
Been ordering from here for a while. They're great for people that need to eat gluten free and have celiac. They even wrote some labels onto the containers on our last order ❤️
Had a work night dinner with some out of country guests and oh my goodness did this restaurant went above and beyond. Attentive service, fully could accommodate the menu for each dietary allergy (dairy and gluten), and had an amazing variety of options from land sea and farm. A bit of a spend but it was worth it for a lovely night out, and the ambiance was divine.
Fantastic experience. I am celiac and was accommodated very well; most of the menu is safe for gluten free. Great service and the food is some of the best in the city, easily.
We came here for my best friends birthday & we were served by Robin (Robyn?) who was the bestest server EVER! She took care of us for dinner and then arranged us to have the best corner booth right by the Dj! She was a great vibe & so attentive! My only bad feedback about the venue is PLEASE PLAY BETTER MUSIC love you everything else was perfect otherwise & my gluten free pizza was so delicious!!
Got their gluten free poutine was pretty good, fries were crispy lots of cheese and perfect amount of sauce they also have gluten free fish and chips !
Had lunch at Taylor’s at Shops at Don Mills with my daughter. We both have a gluten allergy and Sam was amazing to ensure we had a meal that met our dietary restrictions. Service 5*!! Thank you Sam! See you again soon :)
Once again LBB did not disappoint.
One of the main reasons that I love this place is JJ, the Manager.
He introduces himself to each guest and asks each guest their name. He visited our table throughout our time there, to see how things were and just to chat. He excels at customer service and in this day and age, it is lacking at many establishments.
The food was amazing. We had classic lobster rolls (regular and gluten free) and lobster risotto.
I highly recommend this for pre-show dinner, actually for any occasion.
Lovely diner with great food and accommodated for gluten free.
I had the Shakshuka with sausage and gluten free bread, with a freshly squeezed orange juice.
Delicious food, just make sure to ask how you prefer your eggs, it was a bit too runny for me so next time I will specify. Overall great place and lovely staff.
Best restaurant, food is absolutely amazing and good vibes. I am celiac and they are very knowledgeable and have a lot of gluten free options that have no cross contamination at all. Would highly recommend!
Great tequila and mezcal cocktails. Chill but social vibe. Personal favourite for sitting at the bar or patio. Can't count the number of times we've found our way to end the night here. Gluten free food is available.
I can't usually eat Asian food, due to having celiac disease, but I was DELIGHTED to see a page in the menu with dedicated, gluten-free entrees!
I had never been able to try soondubu before, so I jumped on the chance, though I had no idea this would be a spicy dish 🔥🥵. I also got the "mild" japche, which I shared with my partner.
Everything was DELICIOUS and I was so grateful with how the owners made it their personal mission to ensure that my food would be safe for me to eat.
I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Korean food, especially if someone in their party had food allergies like myself. I even got pork fried rice to go, and it was delicious too!
Great arepa honestly. Maybe a bit overpriced but there’s a lotttt of meat in there - they’re really stuffed. It’s an amazing gluten free option. Very fast and very delicious. Portable so you can eat it on the train. Filling.
Great spot.
While waiting for our ice cream in the same location, we couldn't help but order a pizza to go. Everything smelled amazing and it seemed rather busy (always a good sign)
Menu is fun as far as names go, and I appreciate a brand who puts some creative twists into things!
We were not disappointed. 2 small pizzas to go, one was gluten free and I'm told was amazing. Crust was fresh, fluffy, ingredients taste fresh + pricing is great for made to order "different" types of pizzas.
Definitely worth going to try it out!
Honestly worth waiting for. We waited around 30 minutes on a Friday night in May and it was fire. The mango pudding, toasted pineapples, and totaro (taro) are delicious.
The miso cherry was wayyyy too salty and not good honestly. The cookies smell amazing! And they have gluten free cookies too.
The line actually doesn’t move as fast as I’d expect it to.
At 8:45 they had only run out of 2 flavours.
I do not recommend the coffee at Aroma (particularly when there are so many great coffee places nearby). They have a variety of food offerings, including a lot of healthy salads, sandwiches and breakfasts. They are also pretty accommodatjng and are one of the only places in the Path to offer gluten free bread. Only complaint is the $1.75 gf charge to a $2.50 order of toast - kind of high for 2 slices of bread.
We had an amazing experience at khau gully for an annual client get-together. The service was fantastic — super attentive and friendly — and the team went out of their way to make the last night special, and even tailored dishes to accommodate a few guests with food preferences and restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, etc.) while still being flawless with the execution.
Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. You could really tell how much care went into the food and service.
Our clients were extremely impressed and everyone can’t wait to return. Highly recommend.
Had a wonderful meal on the patio. Listened to some live music! Drinks were great, food was incredible. I have a gluten allergy and I felt safe eating there, tons of options available!
TL;DR:
Visited Casa Manila a few weeks ago, excited to try a new cuisine. Staff assured me dishes were gluten-free — they weren’t. I got sick. When I raised it, management dismissed my concerns and showed no accountability. They also spoiled my birthday surprise by mentioning the expected cake with candle. Extremely disappointing. If you have dietary restrictions, avoid this place.

I visited Casa Manila for the first time and was excited to try a new cuisine. I appreciated the time and care they seemed to put into maintaining a well-labelled menu.
My sister arrived before I did and arranged for a candle to be added to the free birthday ice cream for me. The server told me about the surprise ahead of time, spoiling it, but I was still looking forward to the experience.
Unfortunately, the staff misguided me on what was gluten-free.
Server 1 said they could accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free and that the adobo could be made gluten-free, after confirming with the kitchen.
Server 2 said everything was fine except the jasmine rice, which was odd, but he confirmed after checking that the rice vermicelli could be made gluten-free.
After eating, I started feeling off and asked whether the dishes used soy sauce. Server 2 admitted they did, and I had to explain that regular soy sauce contains gluten unless a gluten-free version is used. He clearly didn’t know what he was talking about, so I requested the chef come out.
A lady came and instead of addressing the issue seriously, asked if I was just feeling "guilty" for eating gluten. I explained it’s a medical issue and that I was misled despite asking directly. She said customers are responsible for reading labels, but servers should not confidently recommend unsafe options. She admitted they had never dealt with this situation before.
I asked what they could do for me, but she offered no solution. I told her I wouldn’t be paying and left.
I cradled a bad stomachache and prepared for the onset of hives.
Extremely disappointed. If you have any dietary restrictions, be very careful — or better yet, go somewhere else.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR GLUTEN FREE
$2 surcharge for the smallest piece of gluten free bread I've seen in 15 years - this coupled with the fact their homemade fries are done in the same oil as items containing wheat so I couldn't have them. I even asked for a second slice of bread and was told I couldn't have it.
The brunch should include tea or coffee which was not provided either and still charged.
Also the Shakshouka was too sweet (and too spicy) - the latter I can give some as that can be preference, but why so much sweetness.
For almost $24, no potatoes or drink and a very small slice of bread (which bread is already included in the dish) - Definitely not worth the money in these times.
I want to give six stars. This place is amazing. They are very knowledgeable and considerate about gluten allergy. We tried a lot different things on the menu and they were all great. Thank you so much, we'll be back to try the rest of the menu soon.
Being dairy sensitive, it's wonderful to find a place with several dairy-free options! And they were delicious! Staff is awesome too. They also offer gluten-free options. This will be my go-to place this summer!
The prices are high for average burgers. It’s like a takeout joint but with dine in prices. $16 for a double pattie burger only is crazy. A single is enough for a child. Since these are smash burgers, there isn’t much meat on them. There are also no gluten free buns which is odd, had to get a lettuce “bun” and was still hungry after a single bun. Mg husband got the double Pattie and he too wasn’t satisfied. Also the restaurant is hot and there is no air conditioning, not an ideal dining experience. Lastly, the windows are dirty and it’s not appealing to sit on the bar stools. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back. For the high prices you’re charging the quality and experience is just not there. There are so many better options even within close proximity.
