Sometimes it's hard having celiac disease. Today our group went for sushi and I unfortunately couldn't eat anything there. Lucked out and Sweets from the Earth was close by! I met Olivia and she was so friendly and sweet! She gave me coupons and bonus cookies too!
Tabule has always been my favourite restaurant, my top choice for lunch in the neighborhood.
The menu offers a variety of healthy options including gluten free items. The staff here are all pleasant and helpful especially Mina. I look forward to see her there every time.

I visited my first time on Sat. May 10th. They had a gluten free menu now which was great. I bought a few items. The best item was the chocolate brownie and the spinach-feta quiche.
TL;DR:
Visited Casa Manila a few weeks ago, excited to try a new cuisine. Staff assured me dishes were gluten-free — they weren’t. I got sick. When I raised it, management dismissed my concerns and showed no accountability. They also spoiled my birthday surprise by mentioning the expected cake with candle. Extremely disappointing. If you have dietary restrictions, avoid this place.

I visited Casa Manila for the first time and was excited to try a new cuisine. I appreciated the time and care they seemed to put into maintaining a well-labelled menu.
My sister arrived before I did and arranged for a candle to be added to the free birthday ice cream for me. The server told me about the surprise ahead of time, spoiling it, but I was still looking forward to the experience.
Unfortunately, the staff misguided me on what was gluten-free.
Server 1 said they could accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free and that the adobo could be made gluten-free, after confirming with the kitchen.
Server 2 said everything was fine except the jasmine rice, which was odd, but he confirmed after checking that the rice vermicelli could be made gluten-free.
After eating, I started feeling off and asked whether the dishes used soy sauce. Server 2 admitted they did, and I had to explain that regular soy sauce contains gluten unless a gluten-free version is used. He clearly didn’t know what he was talking about, so I requested the chef come out.
A lady came and instead of addressing the issue seriously, asked if I was just feeling "guilty" for eating gluten. I explained it’s a medical issue and that I was misled despite asking directly. She said customers are responsible for reading labels, but servers should not confidently recommend unsafe options. She admitted they had never dealt with this situation before.
I asked what they could do for me, but she offered no solution. I told her I wouldn’t be paying and left.
I cradled a bad stomachache and prepared for the onset of hives.
Extremely disappointed. If you have any dietary restrictions, be very careful — or better yet, go somewhere else.

Friday lunch time waited in line for less than 5 minutes before getting my table. Staff was very polite well-trained and efficient. Table was clean and well supplied. Ordered a Gigi omelette with tomato slices as substitution for the fruit. It came with gluten-free toast which tasted very good and was not dry as many gluten-free toasts can be. The omelette was cooked perfectly and the tomato slices and a beautiful flavor and aroma. What can I say even the coffee was good. Overall an excellent experience for this gluten-free Celiac.
One of my favourite go to places in the area! The crepes, sugarcane juice, mojito, and the mushroom soup are SO good. The owner and the employees (shout out to Kian!) are extremely nice, and professional. They set the customer service standard really high! So, kudos to the owner for creating such a welcoming and kind environment.
The food items are made in-house so not only are the crepes delicious, but guilt free or at least on the healthier side. They also have gluten free options - so they’re very accommodating when it comes to dieters accommodations! They also prepare the food pretty fast - so you’re in and out quickly.
Thanks for always providing great food and service - I’ll see you guys soon!
For 2, we didn't have to wait long. The table was small so couldn't put food and drinks around comfortably.
Server was nice, but a little slow and forgot we ordered the drinks first.
My food was delicious. I would recommend the Chicken Riesling. The dessert were great sizes and tasty. The gluten-free most popular dish (whatever it was called) was disappointing.
Free bread, but the prices were overall overpriced.
Free bread!
A reliable favorite in Yorkdale Shopping Centre, this restaurant offers a cozy, vibrant vibe perfect for coffee, brunch, or dinner. With a diverse, cost-effective menu that suits all dietary needs—vegan, gluten-free, or classic comfort food—it’s a go-to spot for any time of day. Great atmosphere, great value, and consistently satisfying.
In the last 30 years, they added a handful of vegan options and some gluten-free items. Aside from that, the menu hasn’t changed, you know exactly what you’re going to get, and it’ll always be delicious served by friendly staff.
As Director of Donations for Blankets of Toronto -York University Chapter, I must extend my gratitude towards Gino and his team at the Great Canadian Bagel. The GCB team's kindness and consideration in donating 20 bagels for our upcoming event was a gesture that was beyond comparison to anything I have ever seen. The care that Gino took in making sure that all the bagels were gluten-free, halal-free, vegan, etc demonstrates to everyone that the Great Canadian Bagel is a company that fosters diversity and inclusion. I would 100% recommend the Great Canadian Bagel to anybody who asks me where the number 1 spot is to eat on the York University campus!
Sandra catered a milestone birthday party on June 7, 2025 for 26 people in East York. The food was delicious! The order was for Chicken Parm, Grilled Veggies, Baked Penne Bolognese, Foccacia and a mixed appetizer tray. Sandra also accommodated our gluten-free guests. All of our guests loved the food. The pricing was reasonable and the portions were generous. The delivery was on time. Ordering through Sandra was a pleasure. The delivery person was so helpful. Thank you Sandra's Kitchen!
The absolute best office lunch. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and restaurant is very clean and well organized. Food is always fresh fresh fresh!! and tastes amazing every time. I like the bamboo bowl; it's gluten free and good for a celiac. I add extra green curry sauce but don't feel the need to add an extra protein. Most days I can't finish the whole meal.
Landwer Café is my favorite place for breakfast or brunch. I had the Rustico Omelette and it was super tasty. Their Americano coffee is really good too, nice and strong. I’m obsessed with their crushed potato and tahini sauce . I love that they have a lot of healthy options, plus gluten-free and vegetarian choices too. I went on a weekday morning, and it wasn’t busy, so the service was really quick. My server, Shaurya, was amazing — super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!
Very clean, welcoming and tasty.
Affordable price and amazing service.
They catered to my request of no diary and no gluten.
We finished eating and had a pleasant talk for an hour without anyone getting to us to ask to leave as it’s now common in busy places.
Went here a couple of times and I only have good words to say. There are a variety of sweets and pastries and each time I go, I pick a different one and I loved all of them. The pizza and sandwiches were also very delicious and freshly made. I love that the bakery has a 100% almond flower and gluten free section, which I rarely see in other bakeries. Staff is friendly and the environment is always clean and well-maintained. Prices are okay considering the quality of sweets and pastries, however I think the lasagnas are overpriced. I never bought or saw such expensive frozen lasagna in other bakeries!
Will definitely come again 😃
I have eaten at this store before yet today I’m told this location doesn’t make sandwiches on gluten free bagels. The staff are saying I have to buy a WHOLE bag of frozen bagels but this location can’t make me a sandwich.
Staff told me to go another location 👎🏾👎🏾 Ridiculous!

This place has great food every time. My boss is gluten free and they offered to make him a gluten free meal from scratch. Was amazing. Great and accommodating service and even better food.
The whole plate of food and glass bottle of sparkling water for only $14
My Sunday brunch was amazing! A little cozy cafe with Mexican fusion food with regular brunch options too. The food was very flavourful and we loved the Mexican fusion. The owner was very hospitable, she looked after every single guest. It felt like a family environment with very good food.
We are definitely coming back to have dinner.
Highly recommend for vegetarian options or gluten free options.
We decided to check out Rustic Bakery after reading a Toronto Star review of this business. We stopped in for lunch around 1:30pm. I had tripe, rapini (okay) and rice with mushrooms and peas (good but cold). The tripe in tomato sauce tasted exactly like my mom’s; delicious. My husband had a veal sandwich with veggies and potatoes on the side; also good however barely warm. Lunch was priced by the pound. For dessert we had two cannoli, an Americano (watery) and a latte (very good). Total cost a little more than $50.
The grocery section of the shop has an extensive selection of pasta , gnocchi (gluten free options available), olives, olive oil, coffee beans, and biscuits. There is an excellent selection of cold meats, cheeses and anchovies. There’s a good selection of traditional sweets. Italian cards, candy and gift items are also available. They have a good selection of Bialetti espresso makers and accessories. If you’re looking for traditional Italian health and beauty items, they have a good selection; Borotalco, Neutro Roberts, Felce Azzurra and more.
Seating is limited. If you’re in the area, give it a try. When compared to other Italian bakery/hot table/coffee/grocery stores, I consider Rustic Bakery to be average. Prices were higher than expected for this type of shop.
Reopened for the season under new management - by Daniel & Daniel! Delicious sandwiches (served on plates!), reasonable prices. Not a lot of choice for people who can't eat gluten, but they do have a lovely green salad you can add chicken to. Some nicer seating would be good, but that is likely beyond the control of the cafe management.
We had lunch here by accident not knowing the restaurant we intended is closed on Tuesdays. We were the only diners (a slightly late lunch) but there were a number of takeout & delivery orders while we were there. My wife couldn’t eat much due to an upcoming medical matter but had a very good chicken kebab ( gluten-free ) with rice. I had the beef soup which was excellent and hearty, should have been my whole lunch, but I also had a chicken salad with interesting flavours. The decor is basic and the name unusual, both greatly exceeded by the food & friendly atmosphere. Although visitors to Toronto we would certainly go back when opportunity arises.
Something for everyone, hot table, espresso, even one gluten free bakery option, vegan choices from hot table too and alcohol and sandwiches, nice place laid back, I have been there with friends and my grown sons. Open early, so that is a big help to me and they di not rush you out. I am definitely going back!!!
