We visited during our vacation and had an incredible experience. Our server, Ellie, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and ensured that my daughter, who has Celiac, had all the items clearly marked as gluten-free. They use separate fryers and cooktops, and even offer gluten-free buns and wings! The food was so delicious that we decided to come back the very next day!
Great atmosphere with unique upstairs seating, quick service, and a variety of options make it a must-visit spot for an enjoyable meal.

I had a great experience here with celiac disease. The server answered my questions confidently and personally walked me through the menu. They confirmed when bringing out the cauliflower appetizer that it had come from the dedicated fryer. I enjoyed a burger and tater tots. Highly recommend!
A charismatic owner serving outstanding and uniquely spiced delights that have swept folks off their feet! A must-visit!

Who thought with celiac disease you could go to a mall and be 100% safe to eat while you are out!! Not until today!! Food was delicious... Loved being able to get some fried food without worry of cross contamination. Everyone should try it... Even if you don't have a gluten problem! The cheese curds... Yum!!!
With a lively vibe and creative cocktails, this spot impresses with unique flavors and delicious vegetarian options that are hard to resist!

This was my 4th time dining here. We made a reservation for our party of 6, which worked out well, as the restaurant filled up fast. We were celebrating my oldests bday (fyi - they don't offer a dessert or anything if it's your day).
I have Celiac and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to ordering.
Our table shared cheese curds (amazing!) onion rings (not bad) as appetizers to start with. They have a variety of sauces. The harissa was great with the curds.
One Daughter said the cowboy burger was THE best burger she's ever had! My other daughter is vegan, and she enjoyed the mushroom tacos, and cauliflower bites. The tacos and bowls are very good, and filling ... The coconut curry soup is so flavorful.
The craft cocktails are delicious although a bit pricey. They make all their syrups in house though, so great quality. I recommend the rumpshaker. They offer a variety of beers on tap, mocktails, and a couple N/A beers, and liftbridge root beer.
There is a pinball machine near the bathrooms. Fun - but it's $2 per game.
There's a few parking spots next to the restaurant. Otherwise it's street parking.

Had a great experience here with celiac disease, dining out with a friend who also has celiac. The server answered our questions confidently, and we were happy to learn that they have a dedicated fryer. We were told that the bone-in wings are gluten free (along with most of the sauces), and the boneless wings do contain gluten. We opted for burgers, and they were delicious! So were the fries!
Unique and quirky spot with an impressive menu and tasty dishes, making it a popular choice for satisfying meal experiences.

We used Donatellis Catering for our wedding day, and they were amazing to work with. The tasting was a great experience; they provided one of every dish to try as well a few gluten free options since I am gluten free myself. They also had all their linen, silverware, plate, and cup options laid out to choose from. They were helpful in making decisions to keep our costs as low as possible, while still making sure we got everything we wanted! The food was buffet style at our wedding and we went with the Caesar Salad, Tortellini Carbonara, Mostaccholi, and Tuscan Chicken. It also included garlic bread and roasted vegetables! Everyone raved about the food and said it was one of the few times they’ve actually left a wedding full and satisfied with their meal. We were able to pick up the linens the day before to get them on the tables the next morning, and an employee of Donatelli’s stayed until the end of the night to take everything with them and help clean up. The next day they had all our leftovers boxed up and ready to be picked up at the restaurant! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Expect a lively atmosphere with a range of healthy options, outdoor seating, and a mix of cuisines that makes for an inviting dining experience.

I’ve had much better tasting and textured gluten free and vegan selections elsewhere. I would not choose this place as my top option if I needed either of those as a serious accommodation. Pricing for the quality and the service was basically awful. My table got three drinks (two small hot teas and a small latte) and three cake slices and paid $45. The latte was up-charged $2 because I am lactose intolerant and ordered oat milk for it. I understand an up charge because the milk is typically more expensive than regular, but basically every other cafe for miles well out-competes a $2 extra charge. The most expensive I’ve seen locally before this was $1. In a perfect world allergy and intolerance accommodations would cost no extra, as people like me can’t really help wanting to live like others and have a little cafe latte that won’t hurt us. When asked if I wanted a box I said I would, as I still had a half slice of cake left. No box was ever brought to my table and the waiter never mentioned it again even as we said goodbye to him and left. In fact, almost every interaction with the waiter was tinted with what seemed like haughtiness or disdain on his end. Maybe because we only came and sat for desserts and coffee/tea and therefore were not “high value” customers. Overall this place seems full of itself and really not worth the trouble and expense to have sub-par cakes and a cup of tea. Hoping this is a rare experience.
Enjoy a delightful escape at this elegant spot in the mall, where tasty house-made dishes and a vibrant atmosphere await you.

Another wonderful meal. We love this restaurant. The only negative i could say is that the salad came out like a minute before the meal but otherwise the meal was delicious. I love that they have a gluten free menu. I got to try the gluten free bead at the beginning of the meal which was really tasty. I'm just thrilled when a dining establishment accommodates my dietary restriction and allows me to feel a part of the normal experience. The local cider beer was nice and my significant other enjoyed his Manhatten. We finished with a wonderful creme Brule which was prepared perfectly. The ribs fell off the bone and were incredibly tender. My significant other had the north woods fish fry and said it was good even though the coating was different this time (not as crisp). The staff was friendly. This is one of the best establishments in the mall.

A wonderful first experience for my Sugar and I. We both have a gluten allergy and the fact that they have a separate kitchen for those with Celiac Disease, is just awesome and progressive. The staff, our waitress, and anyone who interacted with us was polite and friendly. The food was DELICIOUS. We ate everything! No leftovers!! 10/10 recommend. We will be coming back!

Incredible! In town for a quick overnight trip and found the smokehouse because they are the same family of resultants as Duluth Grill. There was a little bit of a wait on a Friday night.
They asked right away about allergies and were so informed. I have celiac and they have a separate kitchen space. I was so impressed.
The staff was kind, fun and prompt.
And the salads….WOW!

Amazing! I can believe today was the first time I heard of this restaurant! The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. I have a dairy allergy (whole restaurant is vegan) and gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate me! (They do note that they can't guarantee no cross contamination, but they do have a separate fryer!). I was SUPER excited to see they have vegan milk shakes! They are AMAZING! So glad to have another great space I trust for my allergies. The atmosphere was super fun and cozy! I really liked that if I wanted to be antisocial that I can order through a QR code (which was VERY informative about gluten allergies!) You also have the option to order with the staff as well! They were always buzzing around so if you need assistance they are there. The food came out insanely fast and it was pretty busy at the time I was there.
They are a tip free restaurant, they price their food so that they can pay their staff livable wages (which they dont advertise as much as I think they should!) Definitely worth the price!
Can't express how excited I am about this restaurant from the food to their story AND paying their staff well - I love it!
Side note: for anyone scared of vegan food or are worried about trying it - this is the place to do it! (My boyfriend wanted me to add - as someone who doesn't have allergies or have any experience with vegan meats - he loved it and said he could hardly tell the difference)
This spot offers a unique dining experience with standout dishes, vibrant artwork, and a cozy atmosphere that’ll keep you coming back.

I've always been a fan...until today. I'm stuck with a gluten and dairy free diet so DG has always been a go-to thanks to their menu. It seems they no longer are so keen on being accommodating. Except for a couple of pork dishes there's no options for both without the pig and no substitution for the meats. I had an amazing server who tried to come up with something besides eggs and hash browns that I can make at home for a fraction of the $$$. I was stuck with a bland skillet with two eggs, a mountain of guacamole, and the dryest, hardest fake chorizo I could try to imagine. It was a very expensive, very disappointing, downright bad meal. (But no gluten or dairy.)

Our server was very friendly, just not super attentive. Sat many times waiting for a drink refill. That being said, as a Gluten Free gal, they have MANY options. The tacos were amazing. My friend got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and wasn’t impressed as it tasted more like curry sauce.

Best burger I've had in a long time! I have celiac and finding places to eat is very difficult. They have a separate fryer for only French fries, which are honestly amazing.the burgers are juice and cooked great, and the gluten free buns are soft and really good. First time coming here. My fiancée has Celiac Disease and we were thankful for their well marked menu for their GF options!
The hosts were very kind, quick and efficient. We were seated fairly quickly at 5pm on a Saturday.
Our waitress, Brittany S., was so helpful with the menu’s and was quick to show us their mocktail menu when we told her that we didn’t drink.
The food was amazing and also came out quickly! We got their GF chocolate cake to-go because we just couldn’t pass it up.
Food presentation, Service, the atmosphere and pricing is all 5 stars and worth it.

Dedicated fryer for the fries. Chicken wings can also be made gluten free. Gluten free bun available but had to make sure that the bun did not get toasted in the machine where the regular buns go. Very knowledgeable staff and if they don’t know, they make sure to ask before inputting your order. Just make sure that you advocate for yourself and ask about kitchen and prep practices.

TL;DR: Discovered Purple Goat on a gluten free FB page. Good food & knowledgeable staff.
We were in town over the weekend coming from the Twin Cities, and we stopped in on the way to our hotel, about an hour & a half before close. We hadn't eaten since that morning and were excited to try the menu. We ordered drinks, the pork nachos as an app, and a pair of burgers.
Our server April very patiently answered all my questions about the gluten free menu & was very helpful. I had quite a few questions because the menu has a little message about gluten free options posted on a corner of the menu, but none of the individual items are labeled "GF/GS"
The nachos were great, and I even ordered extra of the avocado verde salsa. Our burgers were good, juicy & flavorful. The fries they came with were also great.
Overall we had a good experience, and would love to come back when we're in town again. We would definitely order the pork nachos again and work our way through the menu. I think the only thing I would love to see is a gluten free dessert option.
Known for its flexible menu options that can be tailored to individual preferences, this spot is a go-to favorite for many seeking variety and quality.

Love the food! Absolutely delicious and fries. Some of my favorite fries in the cities.
I wish there was a little more space between stools because it gets a bit cramped. Booth was much better.
I'm gluten free and the staff were very knowledge. Fries are in a dedicated fryer. Fried onion is safe - fried chicken and fried fish are not.
My biggest complaint is they served my gluten free burger on a separate plate but left my fries on the tray with the gluten burger.
I do not recommend the chicken. It's fine, but overpriced for what it is.
Their old fashioneds are on tap which is an interesting take. I love that they rub the zest on the glass
Soft serve is phenomenal, highly recommend. The vanilla with the lavender and olive oil / salt is chef's kiss. Nice that the chocolate one is dairy free.

This was our first time here.
I asked if they had Gluten-Free burgers... I had read online that they did.
The person behind the register said yes we do. So I asked they're on gluten free buns? He said "it's more like a roll."
My daughter ordered a regular burger with extra crispy bacon, no cheese, raw onions and pickles... And a Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake.
I ordered a burger with cheese, extra crispy bacon, pickles, and tomato on a gluten free bun ( or "roll"). And asked for a cup for water.
They said it would be about 10 minutes... Understandable... there were 2 other tables with people when we got there.
When our food arrived 20 min later the gluten free burger was on 2 tiny pieces of wet gluten free bread. The bread was so soggy (from the dripping grease?) it came apart / fell off after only a couple bites. The burger itself was ok. We couldn't eat the bacon because it was grissley and not crisp at all. The fries were average. Not very warm.
My daughter said her shake was amazing though!
We also didn't see the signs until after we ordered, paid, and sat down for a "free shake when you sign up to be a rewards member."
Our bill was $35.69 ( plus tip).
I doubt we would go back.
