I cannot comment on the rooms as never stayed but We come here basically all the time for pizza ! Always a great vibe and atmosphere, the pizza is the best offering gluten free option also - which is just as tasty as the regular . Garlic bread is on point also. Great drink options and local beers I’ve not tried but partner and friends love , i have never had a bad experience here and will keep coming back. Upstairs garden is nice too on a sunny day with open seating or sheltered, best pizza in Inverness.

We had visitors 2 were Coeliac and 1 was lactose intolerant and one was vegetarian, the staff could not have been better, GF and vegetarian menu were available and they even adapted something from the main menu for us. The atmosphere, food, service and drinks were amazing, I will definitely be back again. Amazing place, congratulations to you all.

Stopped at the restaurant on my journey across the country and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! Food and the view are both incredible, service was great and they have an entire menu for gluten free which I haven’t seen in months!

A great wheelchair accessible stop for lunch. Accessible parking bays right at the door, button to press that opens the door. A couple of different table styles to choose from (staff were great and offered a choice when we arrived). Lovely accessible toilet. Food wise, we were asked right away about allergies, and if we'd need the vegan or gluten free menus. A reasonable selection of vegan options. Service was friendly and attentive, but not fussy.

We were in Carbost for less than 24 hours and visited the Inn twice. For dinner on Tuesday night, they fit us in despite being busy and accommodated my husband's coeliac diet, were welcoming and friendly. On Wednesday morning we headed back up to take a chance on a table for breakfast. They were again welcoming and friendly and informed about allergens and cross contamination. Not to mention the glorious setting. We will be going again.

Just went to the restaurant for dinner, great gluten free GF options I had the venison which was cooked perfectly with an amazing sauce only desert options that were gluten free were ice cream or cheese board, didn't realise the ice cream came with non gluten free wafers but this was changed quickly when they realised, Gaelic coffee was lovely too, a bit more on the pricey end but well worth it and good value for the quality of the food and service.

Poor selection of gluten free food for a child, despite menu and website saying “gluten free alternatives available”. Staff didn’t have a clue and made enquiries. “How about toast for your brunch, sir, because you’re not having pancakes, porridge, sausages, black pudding, potato scones or anything at all on a roll.” Disappointing and misleading menu. Manager was rather disinterested. Gee, thanks. Shame, as I used to like this place. 👎

We hike the West Highland Way. The Oak Tree Inn is our third overnight stay. A pearl - it's hard to move on from here! There is live music on Thursdays and Sundays, the garden terrace is very inviting under the large oak tree. The staff is very friendly and the service to all the hikers is very efficient. The food is to die for! I ate the best gluten-free brownie ever! —> “Warm Chocolate & Salted Caramel Brownie with traditional dairy ice cream and chocolate sauce” Inside it is warmly decorated, atmospheric with lots of lights. The West Highland Way attracts extremely large numbers of hikers; but here you are not just a number. The service is warm & courteous. If you could beam yourself anywhere in short, this would certainly be on the list; but not just for one night. Thank you very much for everything, you are doing a great job!

We dined at this hotel 3 x during a one week stay elsewhere in the area, which says a lot! The breaded fish was so fresh and tasty. They catered for a gluten free diet too. Superb food and friendly service, highly recommended.

This is a review of the restaurant. To summarize: "Good food, immersed in chaos". The food was good and tasted like homemade. After a certain discussion the dish was made gluten and dairy free. Great. But the chaos: Despite the peak of the tourist season a shortage of staff, WiFI didn't work, no one cared to clean our messy table so we had dinner at a dirty table, after 10 min waiting my ordered drink still didn't arrive (but food did). Next time I will see if things have improved.

Lovely hotel right on the edge of Solway Firth with views across the water and also a golf course and mountain! Massive bed, fantastic, freshly cooked breakfasts and very friendly and attentive staff. Dinner menu very meat and fish heavy with only two vegetarian options. Dairy and gluten free options available on request.

Stumbled across this little place in the beautiful Inveraray. Throughly enjoyed the fresh crab salad. Having been caught that morning. Had a decent gluten-free menu, which was great to find after having to walk out two other local places due to poor selection. Would definitely recommend, staff were welcoming and friendly.

Went for food, last minute and on the off chance of a table. Great food, one Gluten and dairy free burger and one regular kids burger meal. All hot, fresh made and super tasty! A funeral tea, I hadn't warned them in advance that I'm gluten and dairy free as I wasn't 100% sure I'd be going. They had no problem doing gf sausage roll, sandwiches and homemade cake. I was well impressed.

The rooms were great, everything you could need, clean and tidy mattress was really comfy, my partner even said better than a Premier Inn bed. Ensuite bathroom was nice and clean as well. The fact that it's dog friendly as well is awesome, they even keep a jar of dog treats on the front desk. The bar is lovely, very cosy and good pricing. Breakfast was included and they were able to cater for gluten free as I'm coeliac, adapting the menu to make beans on toast which was really appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and served in the conservatory which was beautifully decorated. The location was great, close walk to everything. The only thing that would have made it better was parking. Overall a really great stay, would definitely recommend.

Met close but distant family there for lunch we had a lovely afternoon the food was excellent. I would like to congratulate the management on their choice of waiting staff we were in the Stags Head lounge area it was busy only one staff member in attendance serving the bar taking meal orders and waiting on tables, she was amazing in a friendly cheery manner. We were a vegan, gluten free and eat anything crowd she coped with 12 of us + 6 kids from 4years to 15 years with aplomb well done that girl.

We dined in the restaurant for lunch with a large group of 10 including small children. We were able to walk in without a reservation and we seated straight away. Restaurant staff were super friendly and patient with kids. Menu was creative and had options for dietary requirements/allergies including gluten free and dairy free. Portions were large and food high quality and delicious. Cosy atmosphere. Plenty of free street parking. Dog friendly. Definitely recommend.

Brilliant place to stay, room a reasonable size and good value, spotless and comfortable. Some noise when later parties came to bed, talking loudly but all quiet by 11 - suggested a notice might help. Great staff right through from welcome to restaurant. Fabulous (gluten free) supper in a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend for food as well as stays.

Arrived as a tired hiker and felt at home from the first moment. Top service at the reception, excellent service at the bar and then ate like kings in the restaurant. Gluten-free wasn't a problem and everyone was very knowledgeable. The rooms are very nice and clean :) I absolutely recommend staying here and visiting the bar and restaurant.

Great food at the Orocco tonight. A perfect ending to a holiday in the outer Hebrides. Aby, our waitress, had excellent knowledge of the wine, the food and the cheese. Nut roast was excellent (on a Sunday), Malaysian chicken very flavoursome and the cheeseboard superb. The gluten free biscuits work well too. What a discovery. Highly recommended!

Didn't have the best start to our short stay in the Altens as the male receptionist was not at all friendly on arrival, However we didn't see him again the rest of our stay and other members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable but chilly so I was glad I'd brought warm clothing. We couldn't get the heating to work and it was rather noisy when on. Luckily there was a bath to warm up in. I'm gluten and dairy free and was well looked after in the restaurant. My cooked breakfast was cooked separately to avoid cross contamination and I enjoyed an asparagus and pea risotto for dinner. The leisure facilities were great. A decent length swimming pool and a lovely hot Jacuzzi. There was a charge for parking in the hotel car park but it was only £3 a day. I'm surprised it's not included in the cost of the room. Hefty fines if you forget to pay. All in all a decent enough stay but lacked the coziness and personal touch of a smaller hotel.

This was our first time dining here since it re-opened under new management last week. The locally sourced food was very good, the service was friendly and efficient, and the price point was very reasonable for the high quality we experienced. There were gluten free options, which very enjoyable Our dinner cost around £106, for 3, but included big ticket items , lobster scallops etc., and 2 rounds of drinks. We will definitely revisit.

We had a lunch and a dinner,on 2 separate days,here. We weren't staying at the hotel itself. The food was tasty and well priced. Lots of choices and a good variety of gluten free and vegetarian options. They were very accommodating of our dog and provided water and a few dog biscuits. Good range of drinks,both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We would definitely go there again. Good location near the harbour.

Wonderful spot for takeaway fish and chips when staying locally. Gluten free options available with a tempura batter (not coeliac as it goes in same fryer). Star lost due to some soggy chips but hey, they were very very busy and they got in our takeaway order in which was so kind. And the beach in front adds to a great picnic spot.

Went for a casual lunch with my daughter and husband. Lovely friendly waitress, cheery and pleasant. Asked about allergies, I’m gluten intolerant and she brought a menu to suit. It had loads of choice, but were larger meals. So stuck with a baked potato and my husband had fish and chips, my daughter the chicken tenders, both looked amazing. My potato was HUGE bigger than I could eat. All portions ample for lunch and service excellent. Defo will go back again. Very reasonably priced for lunch with soft drinks for 3=£36

Zane was outstanding both in her knowledge and understanding of Gluten Free and she employed exceptional strategies to avoid cross contamination. I would highly recommend eating here to fellow Coeliacs. I felt 100% safe in her hands.

I can assure you I asked what I could have and was told that anything in breadcrumbs, batter or sauce couldn't be made gluten free so to say that I could have anything on the menu is untrue. Also, to top it off when I ordered panna cotta to finish, it was served with shortbread - I passed this to my husband as I was sure it wasn't gluten free. Perhaps you should remove your footnote from your menu or invest in some gluten free breadcrumbs and gluten free flour. Gluten makes me ill, it's not a fad. It's essential that I follow a gluten free diet. It's not difficult to cater for people like me. Any good restaurant can normally manage without any problems. So sad to say your establishment couldn't today.

Had a beautiful lunch with my friend. I had the beetroot carpaccio which was delicious, followed by the trout on a bed of asparagus. I am gluten and dairy free and all this was accommodated as usual without any issues. My friend had the duck pâté and apparently this and the cheek was delicious melt in the mouth food. Delicious and and a lovely catch up too.

Great restaurant with a varied menu from classics to modern Scottish, Asian and Mediterranean. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the portions were large. Everything came out hot and fresh and looked like it was made on the premises. One of our party needed gluten-free food, and although the menu had limited options on it, our server was able to offer some other options that could be modified to make them gluten-free.
