A superb experience at this restaurant, which offers gluten-free options with Sicilian specialties, from starters to desserts.
Very good, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices.
I recommend it.
To begin this review I want to preface that we are "regular" customers and that we have always appreciated the quality of the pizzas. When we do not have the possibility to go there we order their pizza home delivery, also by virtue of the fact that it is the only pizzeria to offer gluten free and deliver in our area.
The penultimate order made had already left us a little perplexed, both for the quality of the product and for the punctuality of the delivery. However, we decided not to contest anything, as having experience in catering we know well that it can happen once in a while in which products and services may not excel, especially on days usually full of work.
Confidently last night we again ordered two pizzas, one with gluten-free dough and one with classic dough (for an amount above € 40 that we are willing to spend for dietary needs, and of which we also know the costs of the raw materials well). The order arrived with a long delay, as in all honesty always happens, but I can understand the reasons. What I understand less is the quality of the products, which apparently has significantly worsened over time:
- the gluten-free pizza was missing one of the ingredients (one we had expressly asked to remove, the other was evidently forgotten/finished); - both pizzas were so full of oil that they seemed fried and very heavy to swallow;
- the dough, probably made last minute and not leavened, I believe was the cause (or contributory cause) of the indigestion, thirst, nausea and abdominal pain that accompanied the night and the following morning;
We are deeply sorry to write this review, which we are absolutely not used to doing especially for places like this that we have appreciated. We hope this place can recover in quality.
The place is gluten-free, ideal for celiacs. The arancinis are very good. They also have vegan options. We ordered a vegan pistachio ragu and a vegan ragu, both of which were very good. They're large, and one is enough for lunch. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews about them not being filled or crispy; you can see in the photos that they were filled well. We really wanted to try the cazzillos, which are like arancinis but with potatoes instead of rice.
The only things that could be improved are the service and the fact that they have bathrooms. But considering that it's street food and at a good price, I'll still give it 5 stars.
Great experience, excellent staff including Deborah, a very kind and helpful person, we ate the pizzas, really excellent, especially the gluten-free one, compliments to the pizza chef who creates the dough to perfection. Highly recommended place.
I'm sorry but we didn't like the pizza. We came for a person who is celiac, but basically, it seemed to us that all the pizzas were made for celiacs. The dough is biscuity. There are people who like pizza like that but we don't. The environment is small... normal prices.
Unfortunately, not everything was gluten free. My wife has celiac disease and became very ill right after we ate here. Apparently they are not fully aware of what is gluten free in their shop.
Very good cannoli and ice cream. In our case, we went because they had gluten-free cannoli, and it was delicious. It's a good place to try this typical Sicilian dessert.
Small but nice place, welcoming atmosphere, we took 1 gluten-free appetizer, 1 gluten-free pizza with tomato, buffalo mozzarella, bacon and parmesan flakes, and 2 with gluten, 1 Zarina and 1 Margherita. As far as I'm concerned it was the best gluten-free pizza I've ever tasted before... absolutely satisfied

Great place to eat gluten-free in Syracuse. We ate there two nights in a row, their pizza crust is just the right amount of crispy. We loved the seafood spaghetti and the tiramisu, excellent. Very nice setting in front of the Duomo. The servers are friendly, I absolutely don't understand all the negative comments. As for gluten-free, they are competent on the subject and validated by the Italian Celiac Association. They have a separate menu with gluten-free dishes, you have to ask for it when you arrive (it's less extensive than the normal menu but there's still plenty to enjoy). The dessert menu is the same, the desserts available in gluten-free are indicated with a symbol (be careful though, you have to specify when ordering that you want the gluten-free version, the symbol just indicates that both versions exist).
Very nice place with outdoor tables and indoor area, we were there for a pizza to celebrate a colleague's retirement. I found a good choice in the proposals also original, various types of dough also for celiacs. The service was impeccable, little waiting good coordination in the release of the dishes. The place is very nice and the food is good, I recommend it
Very atmospheric and pleasant place, in the very center. The choice fell on it, because of the presence of a choice of allergens (decaf coffee, gluten-free, etc.). Everything was very tasty, clean and pleasant service. The place is not cheap, breakfast for two was offended by 73 euros (rather it is our fault, since we wanted to try everything, tomorrow we will definitely come back and I think we will cut the bill in half, since we will already clearly know what we want). I highly recommend
There was (prepackaged) but delicious gluten-free bread. I was also offered other options with gluten-free pasta.
Service was fast, and the food was delicious. Even though it was certainly a tourist magnet, I still enjoyed it.
My partner and I had dinner at this restaurant specializing in mussel-based dishes. The atmosphere was very informal, we were the only customers in the room, which made the experience calm and relaxed. The waiters, two young guys, were really kind and friendly.
We appreciated the quality of the food: I had a starter of sweet and sour sardines and a second course of seared tuna with a pistachio crust. My partner, being gluten intolerant, was able to choose from a separate AIC certified menu and ate a plate of clams and one of gluten-free spaghetti with prawns and pistachios. We also shared a caponata as a side dish. Everything was very good.
The prices were adequate for the quality of the food and service (74 euros).
I would recommend La Cozzeria for family lunches or dinners, as a couple, and also for tourists who are in the area.
Gluten-free pizza, great for celiacs! It had a bit too much cheese for me but still very tasty. The staff is wonderful! They walk around constantly to check if everything is okay and are very friendly. Nice setting at the beach with an amazing view.
My brother asked for Gluten Free food and the food came with crumbs of bread on his dish. And 5 minutes after that a server comes and spill barbecue sauce on my white shirt. He doesn’t tell me sorry nor tells me that he dropped anything on me. Unacceptable. In the End we even had to pay for the dish.
It's a cozy little restaurant/wine bar in a beautiful part of town with historic buildings. The staff was super friendly and informed us from the start about the gluten-free options. Octopus salad was super fresh and delicious. The fried small fish were gluten free, not greasy, very fresh and very tasty. Wine selection was great. We chose Frizzante. Caffe was first class. Would recommend you.
Friendly atmosphere, partially open kitchen. An excellent place for breakfast/snacks and lunches also for veg and celiacs. Very important is that the raw materials are fresh. I will return
Verdechiaro is a true gem! Every visit is met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a sense of care that makes dining here a pleasure. The chef’s creativity shines through in every dish beautifully presented, full of flavor, and thoughtfully prepared.
We especially appreciate the wide range of gluten-free and vegan options, all part of their commitment to healthy, nourishing cuisine. It’s clear that quality and inclusivity are at the heart of everything they do, including beautifully designed spaces featuring light green (verde chiaro) items.
Thank you to the whole team at Verdechiaro for consistently delivering such a delightful experience!
Very friendly service. There's oat milk and gluten-free toast and a gluten-free muffin. The lattemaciato with oat milk was very good. There is also brown sugar, which tastes delicious with the milk foam. I'd love to come back.
Good pizza, right size, and with the option of eating a gluten-free version. A very good place, although passing cars outside gave us a bit of the smell of exhaust fumes. Reasonable prices, remember to pay 2 Euro for envelopes.
We spent a wonderful weekend at Agriturismo Vultaggio. The place is immersed in the quiet of the Trapani countryside, perfect for unplugging and relaxing. We really appreciated the quality of the food, the kindness of the staff and the impeccable cleanliness of the room. Even though the spa is small, it is still comfortable and well-maintained. Furthermore, being celiac, I was really satisfied: the staff is very knowledgeable and attentive to gluten free needs, making me feel completely at ease. The experience of the hydromassage, Turkish bath and massage was the icing on the cake, we returned home rejuvenated. An experience to repeat, highly recommended!
We stumbled upon it for dinner, they have many gluten-free options including pizzas, fried fish and fresh busiate! All the staff were very kind and helpful!
Excellent food, hyper inclusive (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and lactose free). Kind and knowledgeable staff. I recommend it for a quick lunch or a dinner with friends
We had a great experience!
The food was great!
Sea Bream is a must try imo, so is the clam pasta!
They have gluten free options, which is a big plus for us!
When we got in (lunch time), it was packed with locals. Which was a great sign. We were not disappointed.
We would come back to try other dishes, if we have enough time.
Excellent experience even gluten-free!
We usually get pizza (always excellent). This time we tried the restaurant, we went for Palm Sunday 2025 and what can I say? everything was plentiful, good and at an excellent price... the waiters even stopped by for an encore! Bottled wine, mix of appetizers, 1 first course and 2 second courses... also including dessert, fruit salad and coffee! €35
Super recommended!
The owner is celiac, therefore super careful about gluten-free and they prepared a special pasta, bread, etc. for my celiac wife.
We have just left the restaurant, everything was excellent, excellent staff, excellent fish, excellent pizza, global gluten-free frying and excellent pasta, I highly recommend it
We chose this place because it was listed as suitable for celiacs (I am), and we booked. We arrived at 9:45 pm and were immediately seated; the order was taken after a few minutes. Unfortunately, the first courses did not arrive until 11 pm. When we asked for information, we were told that the gluten-free pasta would take longer, but waiting over an hour for two first courses still seemed excessive.
For the second course, I ordered a slice of sea bass with mashed potatoes, specifying that it was to be shared. The waiter actually brought us an extra plate, to use to share it. When the plate arrived, however, the fish was breaded with breadcrumbs (not specified on the menu or when ordering), so absolutely not suitable for me. When we asked, the waiter replied that he thought it was only for my companion – but I had ordered it, and he had just brought us the plate to share.
Also, instead of the mashed potatoes listed on the menu, they had spinach as a side dish, without any communication from the staff.
The starters were good, but the overall experience was not good.
Great delicatessen and restaurant with house made bread (non house made gluten free bread available for sandwiches). The restaurant has a great variety of food options good for those that are gluten free or vegetarian. Kind staff and very reasonable prices and the food is filling and healthful. To try a variety, get the mixed plate option.
Bad communication in the kitchen room.
Little seriousness and little attention.
I asked if there was lactose in a product and was told that it was lactose-free, but this did not guarantee the absence of contamination. Not even 10 minutes after finishing dinner I felt ill inside the restaurant, even though I have a mild lactose intolerance for which the contamination has no effect, even attracting the attention of a doctor who advised me to go to the emergency room due to the severity of my condition. Nothing but contamination! The product contained lactose in high quantities and I felt ill for the following days.
We also called in the afternoon to find out if they had gluten-free products and they assured us they had pasta. In the evening, however, they told us they didn't have gluten-free pasta, which they however recovered following our complaints.
Living in the same city I have visited all the clubs, but none come close to these levels:
Simple, elegant and welcoming place;
Warm, kind, friendly and knowledgeable staff;
Very high quality food, all products are artisanal and cooked with care and passion, wide choice of dishes, including gluten-free and vegan.
It took them about one hour to serve our starters. The service was very slow. It is a family run place, and there were many people ordering around the same time. So it's understandable, but we were very hungry, so the wait was long. They serve a mini appetizer bread with sun-dried tomatoes. They brought me gluten-free bread. Our starter was octopus on top of beans with some lemon shavings. It was a unique dish and tasty. I had a gluten-free vongole, which was really good, but my partner was not very satisfied with his rabit pasta. The atmosphere is very quiet. There were mainly couples but also a few families. Other dishes around us looked good, and I think they have a good selection of wines. But it was a shame as it was really slow service and perhaps the not friendliest either.
I was delighted to find this small restaurant in a shady corner of a beautiful inner courtyard. The kind servers know everything about gluten, they prepared very fine dishes with a pleasant background of pop music.
