Delicious food with an extensive GF menu! Great prices, very careful with allergen consideration and overall a great place for a bite to eat pre-theatre or just for a nice meal at a casual dine in establishment!
Amazing tasting food with plenty of coeliac safe gluten free options. I could even grab sushi from the sushi train, which was amazing! The soy sauce was even gluten free! Lovely staff too.

100% gluten free menu, didn’t get sick after as a sensitive coeliac.
Came here on a double date and got the $69 per person feed me.
There was SO much food, we have an appetite and came hungry and we could not finish it all, which was a shame as it was incredible.
We have been coming here for years but truly every time we come back it somehow gets better.
The staff are awesome & accomodating and really helpful, they made me a super zingy spicy margarita which was great too.
TLDR: amazing service, quality food with good portions, well trained staff, able to accommodate many dietary requirements and accommodate different budgets.

My most recent visit was my fourth time dining at Chin Chin, this time it was with work colleagues for a Christmas lunch.
The food was delicious as per usual, and it is worth noting that despite the fact that the restaurant was absolutely packed and insanely busy, all of our dietary requirements were met without fail (lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance).
In terms of cuisine you wont find anything “traditional” at Chin Chin, it is Asian fusion at its finest, but everything is well thought out, well balanced and also fun.
The service was excellent with the staff explaining each dish, making sure our drinks were topped up, checking in with us in between courses and even taking the time to have a quick chat with our table. Additionally when I passed by the kitchen it was very clear that they had their communication locked down.
Always a pleasure to dine here.
Total ripoff trying to charge $6 for a different type of flour. This is unjustifiable. You don't prey on people with a 25% fee because they're born allergic to gluten. It tastes worse, never has a good texture and you want people to pay more for the suffering? No thanks.

I popped in tonite and ordered the brisket, but I'm gluten and dairy free, the staff were fantastic it turns out for once dairy was a bigger issue than gluten (all options marked and a seperate fryer) but they swapped it over for steak. Which was safe and delicious. Thanks so much
Finding somewhere to eat as a coeliac, is always a very difficult task. WOW, not only did we feel truly welcomed by the fabulous manager, he also pulled up a seat and sat with us to ensure we would have a great dining experience. The coeliac meal was prepared with the utmost care and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
I always try to make my way here to get some gluten free pancakes when I'm in Melbourne. Today I was looked after by Deb, who although was busy working hard, she was friendly and efficient. I'm grateful for getting my food and drink in good time and that the toilets were very clean!!!!
Fantastic all round.
We didn't have a booking but the staff made room for us. Amazing food, great service and good pricing.
My partner is celioac and they brought her a specialised menu and made everything she wanted completely gluten free. They even used a separate fryer for the chicken.
Can recommend the feed me option.

Nice spot, tight and cosy with pretty of good options across the menu (including for those who are GF/Celiac like myself). Can be a bit loud considering the reasonably small space but no big deal
I was walking past and the staff assured me they could do gluten and dairy-free. Then pointed out the suitable options on the menu. I had the Paella, they confirmed it would be safe for me and it was delicious.
Lovely food. The jeera aloo (triple cooked potatoes in a delicious mystery sauce) were sensational. Gluten free & vegan.
The staff are great. Friendly and funny.
The music was 80s sing along bangers, but played quietly so we could have an easy conversation. Perfect.

Incredibly delicious food! I was very impressed! Each mouthful was bursting with flavour! I’d definitely recommend! The beef just melted in my mouth - it tasted heavenly! The price was reasonable too and the service was excellent! Plenty of gluten free coeliac safe options. 5 stars across the board!
Really lovely Indonesian restaurant. The staff here are so friendly, they were very patient and accommodating to all customers. The staff were knowledgeable about coeliac disease, so I felt safe eating here. Plenty of gluten free options! The food was delicious! Clean and a good atmosphere. Recommend!

The best gelato in Melbourne! Such a range of great flavours, and they always have exciting specials. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of coeliac disease. I believe almost every flavour was gluten free, and they also used a fresh spoon from a fresh batch of gelato to reduce cross contamination, after I advised I was coeliac. Cannot recommend this spot enough!
What an amazing find! Food was well prepared with incredible service!
Restaurant offers different tasting options, which I highly recommend. They are very accommodating for allergies as well. Chef easily worked around a gluten issue for us.
Amazing experience at MoVida, the first restaurant I’ve been to with dedicated celiac friendly options for almost every menu option! Food and service were exceptional, would recommend
Handy place to eat if you’re heading to the Regent or Athaneum theatres. Great atmosphere.
Emma looked after us beautifully.
Plenty of gluten free options. Only one GF dessert but it was full of flavour.
I am so glad I found this joint! A cool space with a good atmosphere and excellent customer service. If you’ve seen any of my food posts you’ll know I’m that person with a ridiculous food intolerance that is usually not considered. Here it was! They have a separate emu that lists the items open for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, fructose free, onion free and garlic and onion free! What? So good!
My bloke and I shared a few dishes when eating out for the first time in… for ever! Delicious cabbage and pork dumplings, legit fried rice, crispy pork belly and eye fillet steak - we had sauces on the side for him to enjoy and me to avoid and both thoroughly enjoyed a top notch, tasty meal along with a couple of crisp and light rice lagers. I bought some of the yummy smelling teas to go. A first class experience. Thanks!
A beautiful little Italian restaurant tucked away down one of Melbourne’s side streets. From the get go, they were welcoming and attentive. They made recommendations, and accommodated a few modifications we needed to make (my partner is gluten free). Great atmosphere! They were clearly passionate about what they do, and that shows.
A + standard, and what the food service industry should be about! Thank you for a great night!
Loved my time at Spaghetti Tree. First time coming here with a friend and everything was perfect!!! They have good Gluten Free Options too. Be sure to try it!!
House made soda was amazing. I had pineapple and lime. The corn on the cob was very nice. Good spices. I had gluten free and vegan burrito. I've never been able to order that at a restaurant. It was fresh and tasty. It had mushrooms and spinach in it. Very interesting flavours. Only bad thing about the place is that you have to go up stairs to get to the restaurant, but that's not their fault. Very busy place. Loved it.
Excellent spot especially for food allergies. Wife and I had an great 3 course meal that cater for low fodmap and celiac diets. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about our requirements and there recommendations of baked brie and the risotto were spot on! The low fodmap wagyu burger was one of the best I have eaten. This meal was the highlight of our stay in the city. Will definitely be back and will bring more people :-)
It's nice enough, though very crowded with the seating. I'm Coeliac and I only had 1 Entree option, 2 Main options and 1 desert option. I picked the Dahl, but to be honest, no better than what I get locally and far more expensive. Not somewhere I would pick.
My colleagues and I are obsessed with this place. The $25 lunch menu is sure to have everyone fed and happy. I'm coeliac and the options available are so delicious and I've never reacted to cross contamination.
The staff are so friendly and always good to have a laugh with!
I'm looking forward to heading here for a night out in the future!
Had a gluten free chicken & brie burger + lemon, lime & bitter. Best gluten free burger and bun I've had in a long time. The bun kept its shape and stayed crispy.
Hubby and I went here for our 10 year anniversary dinner in December and it was lovely. The venue was packed (definately recommend booking), the staff were lovely and the food was amazing. We had a gluten free pasta dish which was nice, but the gluten free Pizza was delish! The base was beautiful and soft...it felt like I was eating "normal" pizza! Very yummy. Highly recommend.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Do yourself a favour and get yourself a yummy meal! They have fantastic gluten free pasta safe for celiac and wonderful drinks! Clarisa looked after us well!!
Dinner for 2 on a Tuesday night which was packed with people, luckily we made a booking.
We got the signature set for $190 per person, which I felt was plenty of food.
Everything we had was delicious and cooked to perfection, especially the citrus butter scallops, glazed fish collar, wagyu shish and slow roasted lamb shoulder. They tried to accomodate my gluten intolerance by swapping for gf bread, gf breadcrumbs and gf chocolate mousse which was great!
Atmosphere was classy and dark however was noisy due to being cramped with people.
Service was amazing with waiters explaining each dish however again it was too noisy to hear them.
It is on the pricier side, we spent almost $500 including drinks for 2 of us, so not a place I’d come to often. But it was nice for a birthday celebration.

We were very disappointed with our recent experience at Osteria Renata. (Friday 6th June, 6:30pm)
Our group of four included two guests with dietary requirements—one with an egg allergy and another with gluten, garlic, and onion intolerances. While our waitress initially seemed helpful, she spoke very quickly, making it difficult for us to follow. When we asked follow-up questions, she became visibly frustrated and seemed unsure of the answers. When we requested she double-check with the kitchen, her response was, “I can’t keep going back because the chef is stressed and the restaurant is fully booked.” This was disheartening to hear, as we were simply trying to ensure the meals were safe and appropriate for us. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, every table should receive adequate care and attention—especially when dietary restrictions are involved.
After further discussion among ourselves, we were able to clarify the egg allergy. However, the gluten, garlic, and onion dietary needs remained unresolved. When we asked the waitress for a recommendation between the market fish and the mushroom pasta, she rudely replied, “If you want fish, you have fish. If you want pasta, you have pasta.” There was no attempt to guide us or explain the preparation of either dish.
At that point, the bar manager stepped in and abruptly asked to take our drink order—seemingly to move the waitress along to other tables so he can manage the situation better. He was more pleasant and did make an effort to confirm whether the wines were free from egg or cross-contamination, which we appreciated. However, the overall service left a lot to be desired.
The food itself was also underwhelming—especially considering the high price point:
• Vodka Pasta: Watery, overly tomato-heavy, and lacked any chilli/spice.
• Bolognese: Pasta was undercooked and not quite al dente, though the sauce was decent.
• Mushroom Pasta: Very mild mushroom flavour and poorly seasoned.
• Frites: These were the highlight—crispy and well-executed.
• Wine Selection: Solid range and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, none of the main dishes impressed us, and the overall value just wasn’t there. We were really hoping for a more enjoyable experience, but we’ll be looking elsewhere in future.
Gorgeous venue!
Staff were attentive at the appropriate times, loved the rice cakes (actually preferred the gluten free ones over the regular).
Lobster rolls were delicious and the snapper was a stand out!
We enjoyed the set menu dining experience and enjoyed every mouthful. We were greeted with a tasty cocktail and then the food came out soon after. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance and was catered for very well. Staff were efficient and friendly. Nice place for a romantic/ quiet meal away from the hustle & bustle of busy Melbourne.
Beautiful food, great vibes, friendly staff. Reasonably pricing for size & quality of meals.
This was mid November, so Christmas decorations around the fed square area.
My gluten free pals were very happy with their meals.
Lots of seagulls around pecking at people's food scraps when they left.... Whilst amusing for us, glad it wasn't to our own food.
Loved the vibe of this cafe! Buzzing and mostly corporate clientele during the week.
Very thick fluffy gluten free bread which is always a good surprise! Lovely presentation of the scrambled eggs which were creamy and big portion. Good selection of pastries and amazing breakfast menu.
They do a pretty good matcha. Not the best I’ve had but still good.
Would absolutely come back on a weekend where I have more time to sit back and enjoy.
ORDERED: Tasting Selection ($45.00pp)
🐟 Kingfish sashimi: ponzu yuzu, chilli oil, shallot
🦪 Baked scallops: on shell, Vietnamese potato cheese sauce
🥣 Green Chicken Curry: Bamboo, capsicum, zucchini, snake beans, fried kale
🐖 Crispy Pork Belly: Chinese celery, puffed rice, coriander, caramel soy sauce
🍚 Coconut rice
We spent $51.77 each for 2 people, which included juice!
REVIEW:
📖 I love Kiss & Tell's approach to affordable food. For $45pp, we got to pick 2 entrees, 2 mains and a side dish which turned out just to be the right amount of food for us!
When you can also pick what to get from the menu to make up the Tasting Selection, it's hard to go wrong (unless you pick things you don't like). 😅
❤️ My favourites from our selection:
1. Baked scallops. The Vietnamese cheese sauce was heavenly and added this savoury kick that I appreciated. It's a classic treat that always goes down well. 🧀
2. Green curry chicken. The fried kale was an excellent addition to the dish that added an amazing savouriness and texture. Fried kale is my kryptonite and it elevated this dish to drool-worthy heights. ☘️
3. Coconut rice. It's a simple thing but incredible when restaurants go the extra mile to drown the coconut rice in coconut milk and give it the royal treatment it deserves. 🤍
Big love to the kitchen for the amazing food we had that night!
My friend is gluten free. The food we had didn't detract from my experience at all. I can see why Kiss & Tell were so popular on a Friday night - it was packed to the rafters by the time I left!
Bookings HIGHLY encouraged. ⭐
Service lost points on being unable to manage my water levels.
I never got a refill on my water cup (sad) and would've appreciated a carafe if my water wasn't going to be topped up throughout the night. 🌧️
Other than that, we found that our food came out in a pretty timely manner! No complaints here. 👍
