If you are gluten free and vegan (or one or the other) this place is phenomenal. I got the chicken and waffles and the flavors were spot on! Their pimento is delicious here too. The servings are quite large, so you will definitely have leftovers if you don't spilt your meal.

My Husband is Gluten Free and this came up on the internet. Was perfect opens at 5.00pm and after walking miles around this glorious town we were ready for an early supper. Welcome excellent, lovely table in the window. Small menu but well thought out. We both had the Salmon bowl. Oh my the tastes exploded on your tongue. Waitress excellent. This restaurant is excellent.

This is a MUST GO for people with celiac. I had the best experience. They have a gluten free menu, just have to ask for it. And it has plenty of options from the main menu that you can have. Our waiter was very thoughtful and even put my husband’s croutons on the side of his salad just in case we shared it. When my food came each time, he acknowledged the safety of my meal to me. The place is a little upscale but laid back at the same time.

An all around spectacular meal. First the service was first class from the greeting and seating to the table service. Every single dish was fantastic but the Beef Carpaccio and BBQ Tuna really stood out. Great selection of Gluten Free options on the menu, very accommodating. Out late on a late night date w the hubs in his hometown and looking to NOSH!! This place was recommended by our rickshaw driver strolling down King street. This place is SUPER CUTE!! We actually had passed by it and didn’t even notice!! 😵‍💫 Accross from the Apple Store; with kitschy-modern vibes we loved it as soon as we walked in! 90s tunes wash over us as we enter and we are taken back to simpler days; when we were young and without the cares of kids and adulting. Our server Katie greets us as we sit down at our cozy little booth - she is Super Cute and upbeat! We love her energy! And she knows her Sh*%#! She thoroughly explains how things work in her world, and we know exactly what to expect and respect how much she loves what she does! She educates us on the freshness of the E back bar ingredients? As well as that we should expect the highest of quality Ingredients in the tacos and such as well! We also love that these tacos are served street tacos style and explains that each will be 2-3 bites. This is very helpful in Gauging how many we should order! We decide to get a little of everything! The cucumber salad and sliced cucumbers came first. Then came the Korean Beef Bulgogi Bowl - The Baja fish tacos - in CA they are usually grilled. But here they are fried. I was skeptical but when I added the jalapeño sauce and took a bite MAN!! So lite and flaky!! Fish was tender and the batter was melt in your mouth! Not at All great! And not breast either! Katie explained later that it is a tempera rice batter and that it’s gluten free. Super lite and DELISH!! The addition of the slaw gives it just the right vinegar mayo kick as well YUM 🤤 The mushroom taco is very light and mild. Bits of mushroom; they tasted like shiitake or even just an umami mix including some king mushrooms even had a very mild and meaty texture and mild flavor. I added the rojo sauce for a bit of a kick. The given tortilla adding the perfect nuttiness. The crispy shrimp taco uses the same lite tempura batter. This batter has a little kick to it. Not sure if they add something else to the batter to make it slightly different than the fish but it’s slightly spicier. Which I Loved. We eat a lot of spicy foods and I loved this one. I ate this with the cucumber salad as well for more of a crunch factor. The pork belly taco had a bit of a crunchy pork skin bite to it, and the porky goodness that you can ONLY get from pork belly!!! This one was next level taco yumminess!!! We ate this one with the Happy Habanero sauce and let me tell you - NO. This one you hafta taste for yourself to believe!!! PORK BELLY. NEED I SAY MORE??? Now we had also ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Taco but we had forgotten about it and the kitchen had also forgotten about it , so by the time they brought it out we were so stuffed we didn’t get to try it before my review. I’ll try to update this tho once I try it! It looked awesome, and I will include the picture! The only thing the hubs wasn’t too impressed with was the bulgogi bowl. The bees was sliced too thinly he said and was a bit dry. He expected more juiciness. Especially for bulgogi and I hafta agree on that - having had a LOT of bulgogi in my lifetime lol. I LOVED the kimchi and spinach in the bowl tho and helped him to polish those off. 😝 Oh!!! We also tried some agua fresca - the Berry Colada which was FANTASMIC I cannot say this enough. This drink tasted of fresh coconut water, blueberries and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Not sure if that’s the mix but that’s what it tasted like to me. It was so refreshing and didn’t make me feel light headed like fruit juice normally does. The hubs has a Tito’s n Grapefruit juice which he absolutely LOVED. We were really impressed with Bartaco! Late night nosh as its finest! And Thanks again Ms Katie!

We were on a mission to try She Crab soup while visiting the Charleston area and found Halls! I am gluten free and we struggled to find any restaurants that had authentic GF She Crab soup. We ate at the bar as we were not up for a full meal. Our service was very attentive, the environment was great and the soup and drinks were top notch. If you are looking for high quality food and service and have any dietary restrictions I definitely recommend visiting Halls!

Delicious ice cream made with all natural ingredients! Has gluten free waffle cone options - which is so rare!!!! They have champagne and chocolate sorbets - and both are absolutely delicious. Chocolate is handmade by the owners. Blown away by this place!!! Both the King Street and Sullivan locations are awesome with super friendly staff!

We love our Mellow Mushroom, this was our first time at this location. I had the custom burger with bacon mushrooms and onion. It is a double patty smash burger style. Slamming good. Service was good the waitress was training and serving several other tables we went during the lunch rush. My wife had the steak and cheese calzone. Good could use a little more cheese. My sone had the gluten free pizza he has severe food allergies and this is the only place he can eat pizza other than if we make at home.

Second night in Charleston celebrating our tenth anniversary. Hanks definitely met the high expectations we had of good seafood in Charleston! I ordered the flounder and the flavor was out of this world! My husband ordered the oysters casino as an appetizer which were a “ decadent delight” as he described them. For his entree he ordered the grouper which was a tender but meaty and delicious entree! Our server, Drew, was very attentive and pleasant. There was a separate gluten free menu with many options. Both of our main entrees were GF.

We chose to celebrate our ten year anniversary at Husk. We had scallops for our appetizer, that were fresh and light but I would prefer a sear or for them to be warm. I appreciate the creativity of the chef though! I am celiac so wanted to have the cornbread which was a savory delight! We were surprised to only see one fish entree on the menu and that’s what I chose for my entree! It too was very creative with lots of flavor. My husband had the rabbit and while a much heavier and heartier dish, he enjoyed it as well. I think we both would have liked to see more fish on the menu but maybe there is on other nights. Our server was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and aware allergens. I felt very safe eating here with celiac and was so pleased with the options. One way to make a celiac happy is to have more options on the dessert menu and there were several! I couldn’t believe the cake we shared was gluten free! It was out of this world and probably my favorite part of the meal!

Great little place with a nice selection on the menu. They do accommodate gluten-free although it's not their specialty. You can get a $6 yuengling draft or pay as much as you want for mixed drinks. They truly have something for everyone.

This was our 2nd time here... We went for my birthday and truly enjoyed it again!! Our sever Molly was beyond fantastic!! She truly made my birthday so special!! The food was delicious! We had the she crab soup, calamari, loaded mash potatoes and the Ribeye!! All gluten free!!!!! And when we told Molly we just couldn't eat anymore she was so sweet and brought me some strawberries and whipped cream with a candle so I could make my birthday wish ❤️❤️❤️ which is so important to me ☺️☺️☺️ We truly recommend everything about high cotton!!

I cannot emphasize strongly enough how wonderful my sister's birthday carrot cake turned out. We both have autoimmune conditions that do not allow us to have gluten or eggs, and I cannot have dairy. So when it comes to dessert, we've just given up. I was so skeptical when I ordered a gf vegan cake but I was *astounded* at how delicious it was... we even double checked the bakery's website to make sure it was actually dairy free because we couldn't believe it! I am dying to know how they managed to replicate actual cream cheese frosting! I know it sounds dramatic but this cake meant a lot to us. It made us feel normal again in a world where we always feel like we're missing out. I wish Mabel Mae's could franchise across the US! I'd invest!!

GLUTEN FREE WAFFLES!!! They are delicious, light and fluffy. We had the banana peanut butter and prosciutto which was great to swap with my wife, sweet and savory. We will be back for sure!!

We had such a fun time here for our friends birthday trip! Our girl Rachel was so sweet and took the best care of our large group! The drinks were delicious and the food came out quickly and was very tasty! Also loved that they had a gluten free menu for my friend! Highly recommend

I was there with my daughter who has some food allergies. They make any dishes on their menu to your liking. She had the linguine which they were able to make gluten free and duck breast with simple spices as she wanted. They make wonderful dishes here. This was not the first time we had dinned here but unfortunately it might be out last due to their parking. When we got to our car it had a boot on it. The owner of the lot thought we were dishonest people and called the authorities to boot our car. I still had to pay the fine to get it off. Please be careful when you park here. It's a good thing that Charleston has other restaurants that are even better then this one. Thank you

The perfect spot for a more casual but still delicious dinner in downtown. Lots of well marked gluten free options, and some creative/fun options for folks who might not want seafood. Our server was attentive, friendly, and quick. We were seated immediately on a Monday evening despite the no-reservation policy. Would definitely return!

I got the smokehouse salad with smoked turkey which was juicy and flavorful. My party also got a serving of smoked turkey with sides that were substantial, the smoked turkey sandwich was absolutely phenomenal with the pimento cheese and beautifully toasted bun, the pulled pork tacos which were displayed well and were stuffed substantially. We also tried to zero proof mocktails. Highly recommend the sweet sereni-tea and the "nojito". Fresh and beautiful presentation. Our server Meghan was attentive and pleasant the entire meal. They were also accommodating and attentive towards my dietary restriction of gluten. 10/10

I live in Texas and Miller’s is at the top of my list of places to go when I visit Charleston. Every time I go I try something new and I’m NEVER disappointed . The cinnamon roll, Avacado toast, the monster cookie (extra points for it being gluten free) and espresso martini are a few of my favorites. The James Island location is such a quaint, family friendly place that my 5 year old absolutely loves and the downtown location has such a fun vibe. When you go, ask for Brandon Procell, he’s the best and makes our experience so special!

Service was very slow and hard to get a hold of servers for assistance. I have a gluten allergy and checked with the waiter before ordering and specified- reminded him of my gluten allergy with each course and every single plate I got had gluten on it- first my salad with crunchy toppings fried in the fryer with gluten items, then my crab dip had bread crumbs on it. It was very disappointing and also scary to get one dish after another with gluten in or on it. Additionally every single person at the table finished their drinks and the server was no where to be found for 30-45 minutes. I was with a large group celebrating a friend so did not make a fuss. Both dishes were sent back and fixed. Appreciate that but not the level of service I expect from an establishment like this.

Ms. Rose’s Fine Food is a treat in Charleston! The food was absolutely delicious—highly recommend the avocado burger with the gluten-free bun, which was sturdy, flavorful, and a perfect match. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans was another standout. Don’t leave without trying the brisket fries—mouthwatering! The restaurant is spacious, the staff is warm and welcoming, and our waitress Raven gave top-notch service with great recommendations for us first-timers. We’ll definitely be back!

We did 2 gluten free and 1 regular biscuit. These were the BEST Gluten Free biscuits we've ever had! The regular biscuit was absolutely amazing also. We got lucky and did not have to wait so long in the line but noticed many were coming back letting the staff know that their order was wrong. We made sure we checked ours before we left and it was also wrong. They threw away our GF ones and remade them. After trying how good the biscuit was, I went back to get another GF one but was told there were no more GF left. I was upset since I am not local and really wanted another one, if they would have gotten the orders right the first time, there would have been 2 more GF biscuits and many others they threw out before ours. I decided to buy the GF mix to bring back home.
