Delicious food!! Atmosphere was crazy cool and an awesome view of the harbour. Also our server was absolutely awesome. A little expensive but definitely worth the experience. Also they gave me a birthday cake and it was very yummy. Very accommodating for someone in my party’s gluten intolerance as well.

Went for the Nutella noodle cheesecake (March 11-5, 2025 only) and left with the peanut butter cheesecake too. Sweet Hereafter is an adorable cheesecake and coffee/tea restaurant, perfect for a date, catch up, late night dessert or to take out. It’s a ‘Ma and Pa’ business, locally owned and operated and the Pa makes all the recipes. And they have gluten free options. They’re closed on Sundays and Mondays so plan ahead. So glad it’s on my dessert choice list now!
With a standout menu and fresh, locally sourced ingredients, this spot is a must-visit for a memorable dining experience that keeps guests coming back!

Went with some friends as two of us are celiac. This is an extremely easy place to eat gluten free! We were very pleased with the options. Maya was our server and she was absolutely lovely, she was very educated about the menu and was able to answer all of our questions. It was clear that she took the allergies very seriously as well.
The gnocchi didn't have a ton of flavour but admittedly we had to order it without the scallops, so I imagine that would change things. The kitchen accidentally made it with gluten but the mistake was caught before it got to our table and was very quickly remade!
The rissotto was incredible, and is naturally gluten free already. We will definitely go back to try the gf creme brûlée. Thanks!!
A cozy, lively spot with great service and a welcoming vibe, perfect for a fun meal out with friends or family.

Such a fun place to eat. Celiac safe (in my experience) and most of the menu can be made gf. It tends to be noisy so if you're not into that kind of thing it's something to be aware of. It's a cozy spot and the service is always top notch. Once a dish wasn't what I'd hoped and the server inquired why I wasn't eating much. I didn't want to complain but after I told them I wasn't into it they brought a free dessert after offering to replace the whole meal (I was already full so I didn't want another). The one time I didn't love what I got they more than made up for it with the service. That same day I ate a bunch of another persons pasta and theirs was excellent, I think what I had was a one off and have gone back with 0 issues since.
Expect unique flavors and huge portions that will have you craving more, with a laid-back vibe perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.

We had a gathering of 16 people and Talay Thai put together our take out order flawlessly. The food was delicious, and they were very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate my gluten sensitivity.

I went to this restaurant for a Deaf event. One of the servers new sign language and was able to serve the deaf people adequately and charismatically. As a gluten-free person, I had a delicious haddock taco and didn't feel the gluten-free options were any less delicious than the regular options! Prices are high, but fair for the overall experience. Will definitely be returning.

The interior is beautiful, romantic enough, cozy, but the light is too dim for me (but this is my subjective opinion).
Location - the restaurant is located in the down town, i.e. in the city center, which, unfortunately, means the absence of its own parking lot and you have to look for it, and it is paid even on weekends.
Food - not very many, in fact, menu items if we are talking about the main dishes. There are few gluten-free dishes, which, for example, was a problem for us. We had to order soup and salad because we have restrictions on the types of meat we can eat and therefore, actually, vegetarian soup is all we could order. It was delicious, I have no complaints, but it's still a pity that there is such a limited selection of gluten-free meat dishes.
We ordered tea and I liked that the tea cup was warm (despite the fact that it was empty), and the tea was served separately in a teapot).
Service - everything here was top notch, the girl who served us was as attentive as possible, she knew the menu and the composition of the dishes well, she could tell us what dishes we could order, taking into account the restrictions we had.
But still, I deducted one star. I was out of paper towels. As always, in the restaurant there is a cloth napkin in which the cutlery is wrapped and which we put on our laps when we eat, but I cannot wipe my lips, for example, with that napkin, for this I need paper ones, but they were not on the table and no one offered . This is my humble opinion, it was uncomfortable for me. Well, the shortcomings of the menu that I wrote about above also played a role in the evaluation.
And in general, I can recommend this place, we liked it.
Experience unique Mexican and Venezuelan flavors in a cozy spot with large portions and a menu that keeps you coming back for more.

I ordered a large amount of empanadas for a holiday party and they were so delicious!! They also had gluten free options which was so helpful. The ordering and pick up process went really smoothly, too. I would definitely recommend them for your next party!
Just went to Naan n Curry with my girlfriend. The food was tasty, the Naan portions were generous and overall it was a good deal for our money.
More importantly, we've had challenges finding good food in HRM because of her dairy allergy. The menu at Naan N curry specifically mentions if the option is gluten free, vegan or dairy free.
Very happy with our experience and will be back

As celiac, it's challenging to find some safe eats away from home. I ordered the gf option Lobster Roll & fries and oh my lord.... fantastic 😋
Thanks for being aware of dietary restrictions for some 🥳

I have had the pleasure of esting at Darya twice now and both experiences were wonderful. Amazing food and great service, such a beautiful restaursnt and you can't beat the location overlooking the harbour. One thing I love about Darya is that everyone can find something to enjoy on the menu, whether you are gluten free or vegan etc you aren't just stuck eating the one option for your needs on the menu, everyone is able to choose from a variety of dishes at Darya.

I LOVE The Soup Place. Ann’s soups are exceptional which is why I go to the Seaport Market every single Sunday to buy several soups for every week (see picture). What drew me to her booth was how outgoing but not aggressive her manner was offering samples. Ann is extremely personable with her customers; always friendly and willing to have a chat if she has time.
Being Celiac, I admire that the different kinds of soups are gluten free. However, there is the option of adding rice or pasta to your soup if you want it. I have tried them all (except the chicken noodle) and they are all fresh, delicious and clearly NOT from a can.
I despised lentil soup before trying Ann’s and quite possibly the only lentil soup I will ever eat - it is that good IMO. I hear everyone raving about the rolls and wish there was at least one kind that was gluten free so I could try them.
Also, the prices are definitely a deal considering the portion sizes and it is a delicious and healthy lunch (or any meal LOL).
A cozy spot with a great variety of unique dishes, but be ready for an early close and a cappuccino machine that might be out of order.

We are in town for four days and have had poor experiences 2 out of 3 attempts at Tempo. On Friday we had a great experience, the food was tasty, the waitress was great and the service was quick.
On Saturday, when I went down for brunch they were closed. After a phone call, I learned that they where closed early due to staffing issues.
Today, my wife and I, went down for breakfast. After placing our orders; bagel and cream cheese for her and Eggs Benedict on gluten free toast for me, we received our juice and coffee. Then we waited, and waited. After three or four couples who were seated after us had ordered and gotten their food, we stopped the waitress and asked about our orders. Five minutes later, she walked by and said "It's being taken care of now." She didn't stop to talk to us, and she certainly did not apologize.
A few minutes later my wife stopped her a asked to speak to the floor manager. Our waitress replied "I guess that's me". She continued to say that it was taking time to bring the water to a boil to poach the eggs.
It was nothing but deflections and avoidance of ownership of the problem. An honest apology would of calmed my wife a great deal.
My wife then said she wasn't sure if she to have breakfast any more and the waitress indicated that if we didn't want to stay, it was fine.
We chose to leave. In all a very dissatisfactory experience that left my wife in tears back in the hotel room.
Lively spot with a fantastic atmosphere, delicious offerings, and a great outdoor seating area to enjoy the vibe away from the noise.

Nestled at the Halifax waterfront amongst historical buildings, the A Mano is a beautiful Italian restaurant that serves traditional fares with great pairings of wines and the usual beers.
Service is smooth overall, but we did have a small issue with a gluten-free order, which needed to be rectified.
We were a group of 8 and a wide selection of food was ordered.
The Schiacciata, Sgabello, Calamari Fritti were good and perfect for a chilly evening. As the main course, Quattro Carni, fresh Halibut with Shrimps, Lasagna, Lamb Shank, Seafood Stew and the Linguini were good. We were too full and ordered the share Torta Per Due cheesecake and were not disappointed .
Overall, good restaurant and great vibes for a chilled dinner next to the water.

Nice place, good music. Gluten-free option. I had a cheesebuger poutine, it was very good! Fries with all the ingredients of a cheeseburger (except the bun) with a cheese sauce. My partner had the Smoked bacon mac and cheese served with toasted buns, delicious.
Really good lobster roll, recommend the half and half. Market price at the time was $29 per roll, no markup for a gluten free roll. Recommend the half and half!

I have now dined at Mappatura twice and just wow! The service was outstanding both times and the food was sooo good! Lovely Italian wine selection as well. Although the kitchen might be unsafe for celiacs due to the flour in the air, they have taken every other precaution to ensure my meals were prepared gluten free and I didn't get sick either time. Cannot wait to go back!

I have gluten and dairy allergies so it's hard to find restaurants that do a good job cooking a delicious meal without those two staples. The Harbourstone far exceeded my expectations.
While other restaurants include gluten-free options, the Harbourstone is the first I've seen in HRM to include both gluten-free options (GFO) and dairy free options (DFO) throughout their menu entire menu. They substituted the dairy with yummy equivalents rather than just taking it out and making the meal plain. Our meal was so good we went back the next day and had lunch.
Great Job Harbourstone!

Recently visited here for my birthday, spoke to some folks before hand about accommodating our dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten free). They were lovely and thoughtful, the chef seemed more than happy to create some ideas off menu to ensure our needs were met. The food was delicious and service was attentive. Would definitely visit again.
It is so hard to find upscale vegan dining in Nova Scotia, and that much harder for gluten free so this was really special. Would definitely recommend. ♥️

The atmosphere and ambiance is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been a couple times now, the food is fine, I do enjoy their coffee and pastries but there aren’t many options for pastries (more so sides as a restaurant than a café). The menu does allow for some gluten free substitutions which are celiac safe.

Fawn Offers lots of delicious gluten free and dairy sensitive options. We started with Oysters and the Tune Crudo with their sage and rosemary french fries. Followed by the spinach salad and the zucchini wrapped cod. Everything was very flavourful and felt satisfying without a ton of carbs. We finished with the lemon meringue pie that my friend described as the "closest she has ever come to bungee jumping". A great spot for a group gather or a private dinner for two.

I had been wanting to go here since they opened and I finally made it on my birthday. I am happy to note that the service and food did not disappoint. Emily was super kind and lovely to talk to. I had the baked rigatoni and my mom had the beet and goat cheese rigatoni and both were so delicious. They have a few gluten free options to choose from as well! For the quality of food, the prices are pretty reasonable. I suggest making a reservation before you go because they are typically very busy.

The atmosphere is great. The decor, music and overall vibe is very appealing. The acoustics are a bit off so it's hard to hear at the other end of the table.
Started out with the Garlic Lebneh, very refreshing and you got quite a bit of it. Also got to try the grape leaves and I liked that as well. Others had the Baba Ganoush and Hummus and really enjoyed those.
For mains a few at the table got the Kefta kebab (myself included) and chicken tawok. There were mixed reviews, with some enjoying it and others being extremely underwhelmed. I was thoroughly disappointed at the lack of flavour. Nothing about anything on that plate wowed me at all and I've had my fair share of Middle Eastern cuisine. Sad to say that it was barely a step up from Mezza, and for $36 I expect more than just 2 kebabs, 1/2 an onion, 1/2 tomato and 2 jalapeños. Some of us couldn't have the fries because we needed gluten free and there would be cross contamination and there was no real effort to supplement the portion with additional veggies, which really didn't matter in the end because they didn't taste of anything. Two of those who ordered the chicken Tawok expressed severe disappointment in how lacking in flavour their meal was.
Regarding drinks, one friend tried the mojito and thought it was disappointing. Another had a glass of wine and loved it.
Service was ok; the staff was very friendly but things did get a bit slow. It was almost an hour and a half before we got our mains.
I have no problem paying for quality meals, and this just did not deliver.
