Food was amazing & our server, Jack, was really great. He helped direct me to the gluten free options, he was incredibly kind and checked in on our table throughout service.
We had the Chesapeake eggs Benedict, corn beef hash, and oysters. No complaints whatsoever.
The food was very disappointing. We had the lasagna, the basil chicken pasta. The taste was mediocre, the gluten free pasta was good. The portions, especially the lasagna was ridiculously small. We got cocktail, something with ginger, lemon, honey that was flat and bland. The afogatto was also average.
The service was pretty good and the place was packed.
This restaurant has great atmosphere, really accommodating servers and really beautiful decor. We called ahead they do allow outside cake but we needed to bring our own serving materials so we came prepared cutlery, plates, and knives, but it turns out you only need bring a knife and cut it yourself to avoid the $3 per person cake fee that we learned about upon arrival. (On the phone they just said bring everything and they ended up bringing out plates and silverware??) But no cake fee was incurred so that was nice!
THE MENU did a great labeling of dietary restrictions cause our group had a celiac, nuts allergy, and dairy allergy separately which made it hard to share plates and eat family style as intended. However our server didn't know which dip was which on the sampler platter and we had a brave allergic and restriction-less soul figure it out but she wasn't sure other than the fishy one.
Also I had a coconut allergy and that ingredient wasn't listed but must have been in some of the dishes cuz my throat was a little itchy when I left.
However this is a fancy restaurant and I was disappointed in almost everything I tried. Dip platter was hit and miss the cauliflower was the best but it's hard to mess up cauliflower, the rice seemed like it had cloves in it, I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd noticed that in the ingredients list, the borek was most disappointing of all, and the portions where tiny. The beef noodles the meat was hard. My friend that ordered the lamb kebab seemed most happy and she's the only one who finished her portion without comments. I will say other people liked the borek and maybe Turkish neighbors at the dupont farmers market raised my expectations for that particular dish too high cuz they give me really good and big borek every week lol.
Price: We spent 50-100 per person that included a compulsory 20% tip but it would have been in the 35-40 range if we hadn't been covering for the birthday girls portion.
We enjoyed a great dinner at Joe's. We were able to get a last-minute reservation while in town for one night. The food was excellent, but the service was top-notch, and I would give our server, Jeffery, 10 stars if I could.
First, they were extremely accommodating with my extensive food allergies. My son and husband have no food allergies, so they got to enjoy a lot more than me.
I opted for the grilled seafood platter that came with scallops, lobster, and shrimp and for a side sautted mushrooms. Everything was made gluten-free, also dairy, soy, peanut, and treenut free.
It was hearty and delicious and I don't often enjoy a meal so much, especiallyseafood. It's hard to find places that can accommodating me.
My son got filet with crab Oscar and my husband a ribeye with bearnaise. They shared a mashed potatoe and a lobster mac.
Jeffery was attentive and funny, and we enjoyed his stories. It made the experience even better.
We are looking forward to eating there again next time we are in town.
Absolutely fabulous experience. Our waitress was wonderful, customizing our "tour of the world" to accommodate my gluten allergy. Every single dish we had was amazing.

I enjoy the Royal for relatively celiac safe gluten free brunch. I haven’t tried their evening food options, but they do have lovely cocktails. It is a QR code type place, so fellow celiacs should ask for the gf menu before ordering and mark their dishes with gluten allergy/celiac. I’ve approached the counter before with questions and staff were chill and helpful. Good brunch spot, good first date spot on quiet evenings. The food and drinks are consistently tasty. I usually get one of the arepas for brunch. They usually seem to use Oatly, though I ask each time I order a coffee drink that has milk.
Note, it is quite loud inside at busy times (and occasionally loud outside from sirens passing by). Recommend reservations for busy times.
I would usually rate this restaurant higher. I have been to a different location before and had good service as well as they have gluten free options. This time after moving apartments I did a pick up order. I was excited for the lamb burger with the gluten free bread. My boyfriend got a burger and roommate got a Cuban panini. I would say the food was okay a 3.5 but my issue is how my boyfriend was treated when getting into the restaurant.
I sent my boyfriend in because I was driving. Told him to pick up the order with my name on it. He texts me asking for confirmation. That’s okay because a guy is picking up a girls order. He comes to the car and says the guy “looked him up and down and told he needs to show proof”.
I understand the asking for proof but it’s the tone. It’s the way you ask for things, the attitude you have. My boyfriend is North African/Arabic and it’s GIVING RACIAL PROFILING.
So imagine being emotionally exhausted from moving in the DC humidity and heat and then someone makes you feel like that at the end of your day. All to have a sub par burger.
**Satisfying Experience at The Capital Burger 🍔🍟**
Dining at The Capital Burger was an absolutely delightful experience that I am eager to recount. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting, perfectly setting the stage for a wonderful meal. 🌟
Our party indulged in a variety of selections from their tempting menu, beginning with the delectable bacon cheeseburgers. Each burger was crafted with precision, featuring juicy patties complemented by the rich, smoky flavor of bacon and perfectly melted cheese. The Capital Burger, a signature dish, did not disappoint either; it stood out with its harmonious blend of flavors and tender texture. 🍔
For those in our group with dietary preferences, the bacon cheeseburger with a gluten-free bun was a notable highlight. The bun held up beautifully, maintaining the integrity and taste of the classic burger experience. It’s heartening to see such considerate options available, ensuring everyone has a satisfying meal.
For our little one, the children’s grilled cheese meal was a hit. Simple yet delicious, it was a comforting choice that appealed to their taste perfectly. 🧀
What truly enhanced our dining adventure was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and kind, ensuring our experience was seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. 🙌
In conclusion, The Capital Burger offers not just fantastic food but an overall exceptional dining experience. It’s a place I look forward to visiting again soon, and I highly recommend it to others seeking both taste and quality. 🍽️
The food is quite good. I really enjoy the oysters Rockefeller as it is one of the first I have seen that is gluten free and tastes good. Typically I order the steak frites which is always good. The other times when I have ordered things such as the chicken sandwich and schnitzel, I have not always been pleased. I believe the chicken sandwich is juicy, but a tad bland. For the schnitzel, it is definitely not traditional. I saw the idea of what was being put out, but it did not fully resonate with my palate. Nonetheless, I hope to be back soon for a couple drinks and oysters.
The reason I think this is an amazing restaurant, is because me my brother and sister and I all got kid’s menus, and all kids meals come with a ice cream ,but we only ordered two kids meals but since we have three kids they gave us three ice-creams. Also my sister is slightly allergic to gluten so when they gave us normal noodles 🍜 and my mom said that she really need gluten free, they still gave us gluten free noodles for free, and overall the decorations, staff, and food were just amazing.-Cyrus age 10
Service was excellent - I have Celiac and the waiter knew the difference between being gluten free and celiac immediately noted that the fried items are cross contaminated. Very knowledgeable about the wine list. Excellent Indian food! Some of the moistest boneless chicken tandoori I’ve had! Will come back!
The food is amazing! We had a conference where we rented the whole place and they did 4 courses with 13 dishes. Each dish was a five star dish! I definitely recommend going here! We also had a person with us that can't eat gluten and they made her separate dishes that were all gluten free, making the service awesome too!
First time at this location but not first time at the franchise.
Atmosphere and general service:
We had to wait a minute or two for the hostess to come talk to us and seat us (it was a Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones standing at the door so it wasn’t busy). After seating, we waited about 10-15 minutes to get water or any type of service. We flagged down two servers and the manager in the process. The menu for that specific time (brunch) had multiple items marked as unavailable for weekend brunch, which made no sense…why put it on if it’s not available? Or at least, write it in something else other than 8.5 font. The restaurant was at less than 50% capacity but food took almost 30 mins. We came in at 2:20, they took our order at around 2:35, food came out at 3:01 (two basic entrees and an app).
Food runner was fake-nice and passive-aggressive…uncalled for.
Server (after assignment) was really nice. He did his best, all things considered.
Manager tried to help as well, which was nice.
Food:
App: we got crispy Brussels sports. Perfect amount of sweet and savory, pretty on point. Would absolutely get it again.
Entree #1: vegan chicken sandwich. Was meh. The soy protein had good texture and consistency but it was lacking flavor. Even dipping it in ketchup and dowsing it in hot sauce couldn’t rescue it.
Entree #2: Lamb burger with gluten free bread. Meat was pretty good, well seasoned. But bread was cold. Not warm, just cold.
Fries with entrees: cooked perfectly but again, they lack flavor (but ketchup and bbq sauce rescued them…thank god).
I will not come back to this location and I’ll think twice before going back to another location. But I just might door dash them Brussels sprouts.
Worst experience ever! I went with 2 friends for dinner and we unfortunately did not have a good experience at the Blue Jacket today. Starting with a racial comment made by the waitress about the way I spoke (because I have an accent) and ending with another rude comment about my gluten restrictions. We had to correct the order and the food did not taste good. The service and the wait was awful even though the place was empty. I would never return to this place!
Went to Silver for the first time. Dined at Sliver Diner many many times. Went for my kids bday lunch with Mom, sister and grandma. Went around 3pm after lunch and before dinner so it was pretty empty. Ordered lots of food, apps , entrees, gluten free stuff for my kid and ultimately subdaes. Service was great, The young but experienced waitress memorized our order without writing down like 15 + items and said she won't forget anything and she was right! The food was good and fancied up a bit from Sliver Diner. Burgers were good but seemed much smaller than the Diners version. Same with Sundaes which I was expecting large glass filled with ice cream, hot fudge and whip cream but for a smaller bowl with a brownie with ice cream on top. It was good, no complaints but you can downsize the food a bit but not the dessert ! The chimichurra chicken wings are unique and really good! They took care of us well , even grandma enjoyed the food which is unusual. Lastly they brought out a candle for my kid without having to ask. We will be back , without the kids next time !
Great atmosphere and amazing service! Cool place to sit down and get some homework done. I was lucky enough to find a seat right away, but it was crowded- the place seems very popular!
I got an iced oat milk latte with lavender and it was very good! I also got a gluten-free chocolate muffin, but it was honestly pretty dry, so I wouldn't recommend it.
We visited the restaurant for Restaurant Week. Menu was great and staff was amazing. Good gluten free options on the menu. Really great food per dollar value!
Totally recommend
My boyfriend and I tried to get into Nobu in Malibu and LA with no luck. Finally we were able to get a reservation at the DC location and it did not disappoint! I won’t lie I had my guard up because I thought it might just be a celebrity hotspot but I was pleasantly surprised.
The food was amazing. We had the crispy rice and avocado, Chilean sea bass, baked crab and tuna rolls, and some other crab dish. Everything was so flavorful.
On top of that the service was great. Our waiter Ziggy was very knowledgeable and they were able to accommodate my gluten intolerance with no issue.
Overall the experience was well worth the price. I will definitely be back.
It's a solid brunch spot. Coffee is so-so, but staff is very friendly. I can't eat gluten and appreciated being able to chose an extra side over the bread. It's a busy place but the wait is never too long and the food is good!

I’ve been here twice with Zach as my server- he provides the absolute best experience. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with my gluten allergy. One of the best servers I’ve ever had!
I had a delicious meal here this weekend. They have a gluten free menu and it is much more limited than their regular menu but there were still very tasty options. I had the winter salad, the kimchi jjigae and the 30 day kimchi side. It was delicious! I also enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Fun place!

I tried the chicken mac n cheese and it was incredibly good. They gave a generous amount of meat, and the chicken was way better than any other place I've tried! 10/10 I would go here again the food came out very fast too. I also love that they had options that are gluten free for my wife (no gluten free mac n cheese though)
Chic place, separate menu for celiacs/coeliacs/celiac disease/gluten-free/gluten free/without gluten.
Attentive and friendly service, the food wasn't the best but no problems whatsoever.
Loved FFB. Great menu choices to offer veggies, gluten free, vegan, carnivores all yummy options. We had 8 folks, 8 cocktails, 8 entrees, 5 apps and 2 desserts. Everything was so good. Big place and a bit noisy. Not great for intimate dining. We had a great time.

Great for gluten free vegans!!!! menu is well-marked and there are multiple items for folks living (eating) at the intersection of GF& vegan. however, DO NOT order the “smoothie bowl” i immediately wanted to send it back (but i would never cuz that’s crazy, ab as crazy as this review). the smoothie bowl is liquidy-soupy like a drinking a drink with a spoon and it comes in a mug. coupe, yall need to rethink that one or remove it. i rlly regretted ordering it and i usually LOVE smoothie bowls.
I went to Ambar with my friends early Saturday morning. They are extremely efficient and our server Peter (Pex) was AMAZING. He was quick, friendly, and super alert to my gluten allergy. I would highly recommend in terms of the environment and atmosphere. Plus the food was absolutely to die for. I would get the unlimited breakfast tapas style with a bunch of friends with the mimosas!
Really nice spot for holiday tea, with outstanding service from Allison, who was well versed in the wide variety of teas, and the rest of the crew. We liked the tower of sandwiches and sweets better than tea at the Willard.
The Blue Duck Tavern easily accommodated Gluten-Free allergy. It’s a little noiisy but very comfortable setting.
The GreenBee Café is my favorite cafe in Washington to enjoy local seasonal cooking. Their dishes are a burst of flavor with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. I love their classic cobb salad and blackened catfish sandwich– fresh, and satisfying. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for a lunch date or solo meal. They cater well to my dietary needs, which is a big plus for me. You can enjoy their all-day breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, and pasta. Evergreen Eats Cafe proves that healthy eating can be a delight for the taste buds. It's my go-to place for guilt-free indulgence.
Thrilled to have a restaurant in DC that sources the highest quality food, which is sadly so rare in the U.S. Ordered 5 desserts for 4 people to celebrate my birthday and all were wonderful. Felt amazing afterwards - no crash or feeling crappy despite eating (unrefined) sugar. Sooo many delicious gluten-free dessert options. Amazing. And zero worries about seed oils. So relaxing and wholesome and delicious compared to the usual eating out options.
Stopped by to eat here after the pride parade. The food was delicious. A little pricey but good. They had a gluten free menu so that’s a plus. I had poke and my partner had the meatloaf. We shared the corn elote dip.
Asian dishes are sometimes hard to get gluten free but Beau Thai in Mount Pleasant had so many options! I was able to enjoy pad thai, tom kha soup, and parang curry. The real reason they earn these 5 stars is for the panang... this isn't a wimpy, runny curry but thick sauce with full flavor and depth. The pad thai was also peanut-y sweet which was perfect ti share with the kids. Would definitely eat here again.
I've eaten here many times on my trips to DC and I enjoy this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have to eat gluten free options and the menu is marked for gluten free items. I'm happy with the variety of items and everything I've eaten here has been delicious. It's a fun, lively restaurant.
I had a great gluten free experience here. The server was knowledgeable and explained the entire allergy-friendly process from order to delivery. They made menu modifications and a manager delivered my meal with additional assurance that it was cross contamination free. Highly recommended for those that are celiac or gluten sensitive.
I ordered delivery and I think I need to visit this place. The online menu is well explained! It shows what items are gluten free. The salsa and chips and guacamole are good!
Love this local spot! Great food, great drinks, the service and community here is fab. A perfect place to connect with your people during or after a long week. Also their breakfast tacos are the best in the city. :) I’m gluten free and it’s always super easy on that front too. Recommend!
