We were a party of eight for Easter brunch, we ordered the tomato mozzarella drizzled in balsamic vinegar. The tomato was thin and appeared to have been overproduced from Saturday or even Friday a fresh basil leaf would have enlivened the presentation. We also ordered fried mozzarella. The breading was fresh and nicely fried, there was no flavor transfer indicating good fryer discipline. The gluten free mushrooms and cheese pizza enjoyed by my companions was well presented but not distinctive. The Tomato sauce used for the chicken parm and as a basis for the other tomato pasta dishes was flavorful. I noticed all of the pasta dishes were made with linguini. Unfortunately, the pasta appears to have been cooked long past al dente in bulk long ahead of service. NOT cooked to order. I’m not even sure the pasta was rinsed and chilled in ice water because the texture was so starchy because it may not have been cooked in enough water. It may not have been reheated in water but rather brought up to heat in some kind of green congealed creamy sauce with little distinct flavor of pesto no visible arugula or basil leaf entwined in a vibrant pasta pesto. The sunflower seeds were interesting but my northern Italian culinary training pesto is Pinole. When the dish was presented it appeared to have been molded in a bowl and turned onto plate guaranteed to hold its shape. The Service was friendly customer focused and very responsive. Outdoors under the veranda was perfect. Overall we enjoyed each others company
The a waitress was amazing but that’s about it after we placed our order we almost left .. my husband had bariatric surgery they wouldn’t let him order off the kids menu, I am gluten free and had a hard time finding options so I ended up with just a side of chicken .. my husband got chicken fingers that didn’t come until we were done eating they did comp for that so I will be thankful and they gave my son an ice cream sorry just overall won’t go back proof Is right across the way and way better
Excellent Mexican cuisine...not just the regular dishes, tortilla stuffed chicken and shrimp poblano elegante enchiladas, plus more
Guacamole made table side.
One of the best micheladas I've had.
Almost everything can be gluten free (except burritos) with corn tortillas.
Service is friendly.
Outdoor seating when it's seasonable.
Great meal- I had the red enchilada special and a mesquite latte. Make sure to hit the salsa bar. Service was fast and friendly. Tons of gluten free options.
I have been frequenting this restaurant for years. The food is so good & capuchino is delightful. The employees are super always making sure you have everything & the employees who clear the table are on top it removing dirty dishes & refilling water.
They have a delicious freshly baked bakery. I tried their gluten, dairy free cinnamon cake which was an absolute 10.
Their gift shop is really great with unique & funny gifts.
I LOVE this place...they have the best burgers and fries!! The wheat free buns are fantastic...Im celiac and can't have any wheat/oats...I've never had cross contamination problems at Graze. I also can't eat any dairy and about 30 other foods...they are good about making sure my burger has no cheese and no Graze sauce.
Love this place! First the food is phenomenal and the staff are always so welcoming and helpful. But have you had their cakes??? OMG they are amazing!!! I have ordered cupcakes on multiple occasions and my guests are always impressed by how delicious they are and always say “I can’t believe these are vegan and gluten free!”. My daughter graduated UofA this week so I ordered a cake for her party. WOW! It was gorgeous and so yummy! Everyone must try this place vegan or not you will love the food!
My family and I went to have a nice meal at dinner time on Sunday. First of all, we waited a very long time to get our order and order to the chef. I have to order a gluten-free meal. They were out of gluten-free noodles. Which was OK. I substituted it for spaghetti squash. My husband, he had a salad that was supposed to have bacon in it. There was no bacon in it. And a glass of wine is normally $18 but Sundays are happy hour ,so the glass of wine was $14. I knew all this . anyway I think it’s pretty pricey , I was disappointed . Unfortunately, we are not going to Zona 78 Italian restaurant!

I have mixed feelings. When we arrived the service was great & the waitress took an interest in our allergies (gluten, dairy). She told us about cross contamination & was so great.
Two of us were served our sandwiches (which were very good) but our friend did not receive her salad. We ordered a cutlery board & it came 1/2 way through our meal but the hummus was covered in cheese. I had to send it back
We finished our meal & our plates were cleared . A waitress (Shane) came with just a plate of gluten free bread. I explained that I sent hummus cutlery board back because it had cheese & decided to just cancel.
However, I was charged for the hummus cutlery board even though it was never served. When I told her, she seemed upset, grabbed the receipt & said she would have it removed. Crazy experience.
The guy who refilled our drink & cleared out table was super excellent.

So, a few weeks ago, I had put up a scathing review. I can honestly say they have gone above and beyond to fix the situation and won me back as a customer. My girlfriend is celiac (severe gluten sensitivity) and loves BJs because there are many choices just for her and loves the strawberry lemonade.
Last night, we ordered via Door Dash for date night, and everything came hot and delicious. Cooked to perfection and 100% accuracy on the order.
Thank you for taking such good care of us and expect us as regulars for a long time.
Always delicious and I loved watching the employee take care of the teenage person in front of me who had Celiac disease. They did a great job changing gloves and looking up info on the sauces. (This issue is close to my heart since it affects my family too.)
Be careful coming here with a gluten allergy. Although we made it explicitly clear this is a life threatening allergy this situation was handled with no care. This pancake was very clearly not the one I ordered but the waitress insisted I eat it until 5 minutes later she takes it back and doesn’t even say a word, and guess what. I still got cross contaminated and am sick from this food. Absolutely terrible place I wish I never came.
Short & Sweet
Comfy, art-filled café on 4th Ave, perfect for a bite, local vibes, and supporting the community. Brewing coffee and connection in Tucson’s heart.
Longer Musings
Café Maggie’s on 4th Ave is the kind of coffee shop that fits you like an old pair of denim—comfortable, worn-in, and ready for all the possibilities. Nestled just steps from the 4th Ave Streetcar and close to the University of Arizona, it’s got an effortless artsy vibe that just is what it’s meant to be—an authentic local spot.
Inside, rotating local art fills the walls, community event flyers are tucked along the windows, and a mutual aid water station outside speaks to the café’s dedication to supporting neighbors. It’s the kind of space where chance meetings birth creative change, where ideas flow as easily as the coffee, and revolutionary conversations stoke impassioned visions for tomorrow.
You’ll find me here on sunny afternoons with my favorite drink, an extra dirty hot chai latte- perfection! ☕️ 🥧 Their menu has something for everyone, whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, have restrictions, or simply curious. Today I had the avocado toast and was pleasantly surprised to find they kept it simple and let the flavors speak for themselves! Not sure what to order? Just ask—the staff is as welcoming as the space itself.
With seating inside and out, nearby metered parking, and convenient options to pay with cash, card, or tap, Café Maggie’s makes grabbing a coffee or meal here easy. And don’t miss the people-watching! Located near the University and in the heart of historic 4th Ave, it’s perfect for a quick escape, gathering with friends, or just being in the moment.
Ate it so fast didn't grab a photo. But absolutely delish. One of our favorite weekend breakfast stops when we're near by. I love the gluten free omelette. The smoked tomato has the perfect extra flavor. It's absolutely yum. I tend to stick to one item once I find it, but my husband has tried many different offerings and never a complaint. Highly recommend stop by and take a try. Not sure the bloody Marys are gluten free, but I drool every time one walks by the table. Give it a try.
My husband and I came for lunch. They have a wonderful menu with tons of variety. My husband had scampi and angel hair pasta. I got a lobster & crab omelet. The omelet had way too much egg for filling. I don't like tomatoes so they were left off leaving the omelet dry and not enough cheese possibly to add moisture. A sauce like on eggs benny would have helped tremendously. There just wasn't much crab or lobster. My husbands dish was delicious. He loved it. He got a hearty portion and it was well seasoned. I'm GF so that always mades it a bit harder although they had really good gluten free bread as the option. Of course some of the salads etc were GF. I would not order an omelet again but something else. It was extremely loud when we were there and it was a full house.
First Watch is my kind of place. Excellent and happy service, good menu with healthy choices and delicious food. We enjoyed 2 different versions if The Elevated Egg. One with gluten- free bread and one with sourdough with coffee. Then enjoyed one of their truly good for you health drinks. Kale Tonic and the new Watermelon Lime Drinks. Never all sugared out .Thankyou for a good start to my day First Watch!
North Italia never disappoints. The short rib is incredible—rich, tender, and full of flavor. The shrimp scampi and eggplant appetizers are both delicious and perfectly executed. They also offer an excellent selection of wines to complement the meal.
The staff is always attentive and accommodating, especially with gluten-free and other special dietary needs, which is greatly appreciated.
The atmosphere is decent, but it can get quite noisy when the place is full—even out on the patio.
Despite that, it’s a fantastic dining experience overall. Highly recommend!
The service and atmosphere were nice. The food, however, was lacking. First off, I got the minestrone soup, but instead of having pasta in it it has potatoes. There were also very few other vegetables. I'm used to minestrone soup being loaded with vegetables and pasta. The broth was ok, but there was little substance other than the potatoes. My friend got a salad and that was really good. The house salad with the old Italian dressing. Definitely a good salad. I got the chicken piccata for dinner and my friend got the chicken parmigiana with gluten free noodles. The piccata sauce was brown.. couldn't find the capers and only had a hint of lemon. It was not at all what I expected. Also, I was asked if I wanted the red sauce on the noodles instead of the piccata sauce, which was very weird to me. My friends gluten free noodles were sticky and had little flavor. The red sauce of the parmigiana was very acidic. The portions were very large. All in all the food was disappointing, I would not recommend and we will certainly not be going back.
Stopped by for brunch. This was our first time coming here and was lucky enough to be seated right when we walked in (it was super packed)! The dishes we got (Smoked Salmon Benedict and Smoked Beet Sandwich) were very delicious and the gluten free English muffins were amazing! Our server was super nice and very informative of what they could/couldn’t do gluten free. We are definitely coming back to try the dinner menu.

I love La Indita. I give them 5 stars! They are like family to me and I feel like I am sitting at the family table when I am eating there. I had my first date with my spouse of 31 years. In fact they catered my wedding! They are good and try to accommodate for gluten-free needs, they are VERY informative about their foods when asked, and I have to tell you their flautas with dipping sauces are the greatest. I am a huge fan of their soups and often get their soups. I love their tacos and mushroom taco is a fav, however, their carne seca taco is fabulous! Their food is homemade and they follow the recipes of their family handed down generation to generation, and it shows. This is a must when you have out of town guests. I love this place.
Amazing first experience at Fleming's. They've got a slew of Gluten Free options, and even a separate menu. The petite filet was phenomenal, asparagus and mushrooms super tasty and Joe, our waiter, was absolutely kind and just wonderful! I'd be happy to go back some day!
One of my favourite places in Tucson. I've come several times and every experience has been amazing. The food is delicious, and I love it because there are gluten-free options for meals I can't usually eat (like French toast). The service has always been top-notch. The atmosphere in the morning is very chill and cosy, especially with the sun streaming in the windows. Towards lunch time it gets a little busier but the layout helps with separation.
If you let them know your gluten free they make extra care to not cross contaminate and they also will let you know you can pretty much modify majority of the menu to fit gluten free!
First trying Cafe a la c’Art in chandler and it was phenomenal. I have food allergies and sometimes worry about eating at places. They have gluten free options and I was able to order my breakfast without dairy as well. Ellie was amazing. She asked how she could accommodate me and not in an annoying way. She gave so many different options for dairy free items and knew what foods had it in and didn’t. The food was phenomenal. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had hands down. My husband has no allergies and loved his omelet. Their fresh juices are great as well as their tea selection. They have something for everyone there. You won’t be disappointed. Give it a try.
I love everything about REN ! Gluten free and vegan options . The mushroom latte ,vegan tamale & bagel with vegan cream cheese are my fave ! Indoor & outdoor courtyard seating . Typically very busy . Very vibey.

Both their regular pizzas and gluten free versions are delicious. For those that need a gluten free pizza, the large size is bigger than other pizza joints I've seen that tend to max out at a smaller size.
Great Mexican restaurant! The staff is. Ery friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Great food, many options and good size portions. There is also keto friendly menu, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. I recommend it 💯
This place was AMAZING!!! The food was AWESOME! It has vegetarian and gluten free options, as well. The service was JUST as amazing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Dutch.
Really enjoyed their house black bean burger and homemade fries. Vanilla gluten-free cupcake for dessert was awesome. The staff is super attentive and friendly ...very good vibe about the place. Purchased some deli meat from the refrigerated section and one of the staff gave us a sample of their homemade vegan roast beef. Look forward to trying that tonight.
The absolute SLOWEST SERVICE EVER.
We've given Hot Rod's many tries. The food is great and offers gluten-free options which is important to us but the service is the absolute slowest you'll ever be met with. Just today, we went in at 12:30. There was nobody up front to seat us. We waited several minutes. I saw an employee standing in a corner in the front area kitchen. I couldn't tell what she was doing. After some time, I asked "Should we seat ourselves?" this surprised the woman who quickly looked up and I was then able to see that she was on her phone this entire time. She agreed to us seating ourselves and then brought us menus. She said that she'd be right back to take our drink order. The rest of our party joined us, we waited for quite some time. There were only 2 other occupied tables. The woman never came out to take our drink order so we left. While walking out, we saw the same woman who said that she'd be back to obtain our drink order. The woman was right back in the same corner she was when we first walked in, on her cell phone.
This is not the first time that we've been met with this type of service and waiting an extensive time to just be acknowledged and seated at a table. Hot Rods is NEVER busy. Often times, there is nobody in the dining room when we've visited. If there is anyone there, it's never no more than 2 tables. Having worked in the Restaurant business, there is NO excuse for such poor service. It's quite a shame that Hot Rods still refuses to get it together in the service department because their food and atmosphere is not bad at all.
Great restaurant close to Albertsons and my dry cleaners. Perfect stop after errands. Everyone seems to love it too, very crowded and well staffed. Lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options to choose from on the menu.
I'm going back and sit out on the patio in the shade and soak up the vibes.
The $13 pazookie meal deal is amazing!
Just got diagnosed with celiac disease so finding a safe restaurant that has protocols in place is tough. But, BJs has it all set. I ordered the gluten free pizza and pazookie. Chad one of the managers came out of his way to let me know that all gloves were changed, separate utensils were used and extra cleaning was done to avoid cross contamination. Also our server Christiana was extremely knowledgeable on what items were GF. Great place to come! 10/10 experience!!!!
The vegan Bolognese was one of the best pastas I've ever had. The server informed me that they have a few off-menu vegan selections that are more veggie-based, so be sure to ask about those if you aren't a pasta person. They also have a gluten-free pasta if you are gluten-sensitive. The portion sizes are very generous. Maybe consider sharing a dish if you want to save a room for dessert 😉
Our server, Melissa, was smiling, friendly and seemed to enjoy her job which she did well. Plates were large and full of food. Next time, my husband and I will share and order a side with it. Corned beef hash was very good except for a few small gristley pieces. Home fries and bacon were delivered crisp as requested and coffee was very good and refilled regularly. Gluten free toast was good. Other GF options available. Atmosphere okay inside. There is a front covered patio for outdoor dining.
We used to go here with our daughter when she lived in town, but hadn't been there again until recently. The manager, server, and food were good with the exception of the change in the Gluten Free bun recently to Against the Grain, which has dairy and is like a brick. Please change back to something that isn't so hard and doesn't have dairy in it!!
Beautiful outside, a wee bit windy 💨 Great service. The phenomenal gluten free blueberry-oatmeal pancakes were not made as well as the Bisbee Breakfast Club on Kolb/Carondelet, (pancake batter not cooked and 2nd pancake, ok.) I picked at my pancakes. Had friends from out of town and didn’t want to complain. My colleagues meals were delicious! Next time will say something and of course WILL GO BACK AGAIN ❣️
I come here every time I visit Tucson! Today the coconut chutney and black eyed peas were especially good. Delicious & fresh every time and the courtyard is beautiful. Love this place! All vegetarian with vegan and gluten free options.
