My celiac daughter and I always eat here at least once each visit to the city. Never had any issues issue with symptoms and she is fairly sensitive to gluten. She always gets chicken fingers and fries while I’ve enjoyed several different sandwiches/burgers. Highly recommend as a quick stop restaurant

Came to Friedmans on W 72nd with my friend Jess and we had such a great time! The vibe was super warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and Jess got the shakshuka both were amazing. You can tell they really care about quality ingredients, and the gluten-free options were a huge bonus. We weren’t rushed at all and got to just hang out and catch up over great food. Definitely adding this to our regular brunch rotation!

Standard diner fare, but with gluten free options! The first thing the hostess asked us, was if anyone needed a gluten free menu. They have a dedicated fryers. My daughter enjoyed her meal.

Mythical place to eat a good burger in Times Square. They have a good menu of gluten-free products available. The decoration and rock atmosphere are certainly worth it and the burgers are very good, with prices in line with the city and the area. The desserts, although not cheap, are of a considerable size, so they can be shared. The attention and service are good. Mashed potatoes are recommended as a side dish rather than French fries, which are more normal.
Enjoy a welcoming vibe with unique decor, a diverse menu for everyone, and standout sweet potato fries in a cozy setting perfect for family outings.

Bareburger recently caught my attention, and I was thoroughly impressed with my recent visit. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, and the rustic decor and cozy ambiance created the perfect setting for a delightful dining experience.
The menu boasts a wide variety of options to cater to every palate. Whether you’re a burger enthusiast or prefer plant-based alternatives, Bareburger has something for everyone. I decided to indulge in the Sweet Bison Blues burger, and it was an absolute delight! The all-natural bison was cooked to perfection, and the harmonious blend of aged blue cheese, caramelized onion, and bacon bourbon jam infused each bite with an explosion of flavor. The juicy burger was perfectly seasoned and nestled on a fresh and fluffy bun.
For sides, the sweet potato fries and Honey Brussels sprouts were absolute standouts. Both were cooked to perfection, achieving the ideal balance of crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside. If you’re a sauce connoisseur, you’ll be delighted to know that Bareburger offers an array of sauces that add a unique and delectable twist to each dish.
One of the most commendable aspects of Bareburger is their unwavering commitment to inclusivity. They cater to various dietary preferences by offering vegan, gluten-free, and keto-friendly options that don’t compromise on taste. My friend, who opted for the My Sunshine (a vegan burger), couldn’t stop raving about it for hours.
The service at Bareburger was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and ensured our entire meal was attended to with utmost care. It’s evident that the staff at Bareburger genuinely cares about their food and the well-being of their customers.
In conclusion, if you’re seeking a place that offers delectable, high-quality burgers, a welcoming atmosphere, and accommodating dietary options, Bareburger is the ideal destination. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to explore more of their menu items and continue to savor the exceptional dining experience they provide. Highly recommend this culinary gem to anyone who appreciates a great burger and a memorable dining experience.

Very cute diner with delicious bagels and black and white cookies and super friendly staff. Most notably though — they have the most amazing gluten-free bagel I’ve ever had. It tastes like a normal bagel, like kinda suspiciously. If you’re GF, it’s a must try!!

This restaurant is dangerous for people with gluten allergies. The waitress was not knowledgeable about gluten on the menu. She was very rude and short as soon as my party told her that one of us has an allergy. She said the person could have a salad but nothing else, and they don’t have gluten free bread. Even if that wasn’t true, after that initial encounter we decided to leave.

Melanie was our server and was awesome. She was very attentive and very accommodating for my mom who has celiac disease. My mom always gets nervous ordering at places but Melanie made it a point to make sure she was as comfortable as possible and had nothing to worry about. Definitely recommend if you’re gluten intolerant or celiac!

We were jetlagged and looking for a place nearby to eat and open before 9am. The Grey Dog ended up being a great choice. They served both breakfast and lunch options even though it was morning, and had a variety of options for various dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free). All of our food was delicious. The coffee was strong. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts.
In a city like New York you need to find some places that are dependable. Places that have good food at prices that won't destroy you and going to any one of the grey dog locations in the city will yield you a delicious meal at a reasonable price.
Having a partner who is gluten and lactose-free provides its own restrictions and luckily those restraints are not a factor here. Any sandwich could be made with a gluten-free bun and the chicken wings are also gluten free. It's really wonderful to see and establishment with choices that doesn't make it a challenge for those with dietary restrictions.
The service took a little bit but it was slightly past lunch and you really can't be too upset about that but it was getting to the point of distraction. The chicken sandwich was moist and not overly fried and incredibly flavorful.
A cozy oasis with unique, delicious treats and a relaxed vibe, perfect for grabbing a snack or enjoying a coffee while you unwind.

I would not recommend this place for allergies, especially for people with celiacs. Unfortunately, places like this are the most dangerous for people with food allergies. The menu is marked and seems inclusive, but the staff I interacted with was not aware and did not care or take note when I asked about gluten free options and said that I have a gluten allergy.
The person working didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked if the fries are fried in a shared fryer and was annoyed when I asked if she could check. She left and didn’t come back with a clear answer so, I played it as safe as possible and my food still came out carelessly on bread. I brought it to the counter and they brought it right back out without the bread. No communication. At that point I started noticed the lipstick on marks on my water cup and the jars of shared condiments where anyone can dip whatever utensils they want into it (including contaminated knives spreading on bread and back). I was grossed out. I have celiacs. These details matter. I know how to navigate menus and how to respectfully advocate for the bare minimum. It’s not clean and it’s not safe.

Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent views! We did the lunch prefix and there were plenty of gluten free options, along with some of the best gluten free bread I've had!
The staff knew exactly what I could order and how to make changes to dishes so they could be gluten free. Would highly recommend!

I used to come to the Meatball Shop when I was in grad school in 2012/2013. It was wonderful then! BUT it was TERRIBLE yesterday. I usually don't write reviews but I want to make sure people understand how bad their food is. I ordered the chicken meatballs and they were undercooked, pink and raw inside. It smelled funny too. I ordered it on a bed of kale (worst decision ever) because they kale was sautéed but tasted rotten. Yuck. My husband who is gluten free ordered the chicken one too because that was the only one gf and he was nauseous and sick that night. He has bouts of nausea and a severe migraine because of the food. Thankfully I was already on a strong course of antibiotics for something else, so I was not affected as much. This was my first trip to NYC after 12 years and I was looking forward to eating here. BIG MISTAKE.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. I was only in NYC for a couple of days on business and went here on my last day on a whim for lunch. I had the fresh pressed grapefruit juice, hamachi, and citrus, fries and fennel salad. All were perfection. We sat outside in the courtyard for some early spring warmth it was magical! The staff and service were top notch!! It was the best dining experience I had in the short time I was there. Also lots of veggie and gluten free options, even pizza!

They have gluten free bread which can’t be toasted due to cross-contamination. Frustrating as someone with celiac disease, but fine. But beyond that, my sandwich came out with pieces of egg shell on it… the server saw it, and was like “oh it’s just egg shell it’s fine” and went on his way. Yikes. Would not recommend.

I’m really happy with my experience at Trinity Place! The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free options. They even have a separate gluten-free menu with a great variety of starters and main dishes. I had the tuna tartare and the salmon — both were absolutely delicious! They come with gluten-free bread, but can also be served with regular bread on the side for those who don’t need to eat gluten-free. For the main course, I had the duck risotto, which was spectacular. They also offer gluten-free drinks like beer. Everything was incredibly tasty, and best of all, my stomach felt great afterwards!

I recently moved into this neighborhood for work, (One block south across the street from The Smith). I have eaten here a half dozen times now easy and just love the food, the atmosphere and the amazing service. Want to say thank you to everyone there for creating an amazing space that serves clean delicious food. Had a friend who's child was gluten sensitive and they went out of their way to create a dish she could enjoy. I love the salmon, and I mean clean the plate kind of love. Great job everyone at the Smith and probably see you soon! Did I mention they make a killer Manhattan? yea the drinks are good too.

Pros: Outstanding views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Aesthetically beautiful and wonderfully decorated; fun, colorful, romantic and very intimate/private. Great service from an accommodating, friendly and professional staff. Inexpensive. Non-alcoholic options available. Free small bites for the table. Vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian options. Homemade ice cream and sorbets! Large portion sizes.
Cons: No parking. Tight dining space. Limited/small menu. Food was okay/good; the braised lamb fell apart like butter, but flavor wise could have used some seasoning. The restaurant is labeled as Modern Classic American Cuisine but I struggled to find any dishes on the dinner menu that felt familiar or in this style.
Ribollita: 3/5
Crab Cakes: 4/5
Brussel Sprouts: 3/5

Overall, I enjoyed dining at Robert. I would like to return to try brunch or lunch, and I would even try dinner again; overall I think the menu was interesting, ideal for those that are looking to try something new, without bold or overwhelming flavor. I would also love to experience a musical event, which they schedule regularly!
