The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast had so many choices even gluten free. The restsurant food was also delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel 1 mile walk to city center..Far enough away from the noise but close enough to walk to. I would definitely stay again.

Killashee Hotel is rated as 4 star hotel but I think it is 5 star because of all amenities, service this Hotel has. I stayed there with my children and couldn't ask for better place to spend our Easter holidays. They have brilliant swimming pool (in other building), outside play area, inside playroom (could be better if they updated it). Our room was very spacious despite all 6 of us staying in one room. We dined every night in their restaurants. Oak and Anvil was good for more casual dining with exceptional food and even better service. And Pippin Tree restaurant was great experience too with high quality dishes. Food was really well prepared and presented. We couldn't fault anything at all. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. Kids favourite was freshly made pancakes with amazing jams and nuttela spread. I liked cereal selection and different toppings to choose from. They even had large enough gluten free product display - pastries, bread, cereals.
Special mention I want to give to 3 waiters who looked after us - Jose R, Eabha D and another girl whose name I unfortunately didn't get, she was looking after us on 15th of April in Oak and Anvil restaurant at around 6-7.30pm. They all were so nice, attentive and kind, especially to my 5 children- it really made their stay at Killashee very special. They still talk about all 3 of them. Thank you Killashee Hotel for having us and we will definitely be back soon.

All staff are warm and attentive. Rooms are basic and if you are not looking out over the river the rooms are dark, dull and a little drab. Beds and pillows were very comfy. We had a bath and a walk-in shower which was great but no light in the shower which was odd.
Food and drinks were fine. Guinness wasn't great but overall a good spot, not too bad for families I would say and taff made up for anything lacking. They were all really nice. Selection for breakfast was good with some gluten free options if anything was gluten intolerant. One small detail... As my friend was finishing off his food that was still in his hand (he made a sandwich with his fry in his toast and was leaning over his plate to catch anything that fell) a member of staff came to take his plate and asked if they could have it while he was clearly still using it and wasn't finished. A bit odd but nothing major. Still a nice experience as we were there for a wedding and might return with kids for a family wknd.

Large rooms with nice big beds.
The breakfast buffet was great. Large selection of hot food for a full Irish, continental options like pastries, muffins, pancakes, banana bread, cereal, granola and yogurt pots as well as gluten free bagels and muffins. The staff were really accommodating and said that they could make omelettes to order for vegetarians as well as vegan options. (we got a vegan filled bagel with mushrooms, courgette and spinach which was very tasty) (I do wish there was vegan/veggie sausages).
There was also a decent coffee machine and lots of alternative milks
A great spot with a beautiful setting and a variety of options, perfect for those seeking a cozy and accommodating experience.

Having Gluten Free options was a bonus showing your inclusion of people with Dietary needs. Only negative was serving wine in small glass my preference is a nice glass to drink from. Not questioning the quantity that was perfect and price was reasonable.

Absolutely outstanding experience!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and beautifully styled — the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. What really impressed us, though, was the thoughtful attention to gluten-free options. As someone who has to eat gluten-free, it’s such a treat to find a restaurant that not only accommodates but excels in it.
We enjoyed the roast lamb and the fish pie, both of which were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The lamb was tender and full of rich, savory notes, while the fish pie was comforting and creamy without feeling heavy. And yes — both completely gluten free!
Dessert was another highlight. The chocolate nut dessert was indulgent and satisfying, while the pavlova was light, crisp, and topped with the freshest fruit — a perfect end to the meal. Again, all gluten free and absolutely delicious.
The staff were fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout, striking that perfect balance of attentive without being intrusive.
Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautifully redecorated rooms since our last visit, fab showers and comfy beds. Had breakfast one morning during our stay which was lovely, even catered for gluten free - which makes a great change! Location-wise, this hotel is perfect. It is 5-10 mins walk from the popular tourist bars, but there are better bars much closer. Also has a nice hotel bar for a night cap.
We have stayed here loads of times and will be back again!

We also ate in the restaurant, even though I'm gluten intolerant they catered for me by adapting what they already had on the menu and then our lovely waitress went and found me a gluten free brownie which wasn't on the menu!! Thanks for a lovely stay.

From the minute we arrived we had a lovely warm welcome, the rooms were lovely it was nice and central aswell as we went up to go to Elf Town and the Christmas Markets and nothing was more then a 15 min drive. My little man loved the games room it's a great touch to the place. The breakfast in the morning was fab aswell the chef went out of his way to prepare me a serperate cooked breakfast as I was coeliac and didn't want to risk the self service cooked breakfast bits that were gluten free . Will definitely return when in galway again.

Firstly we would like to thank Sean, Ruan, Rachel, Keith, Rachel and Megan for their excellent first aid skills they looked after my mother in law all weekend as she had had a little accident (her own fault) and they dressed her wound for her all weekend. Secondly thank you Sammy and Megan, Ruan for making sure she had gluten free food (I know that wasn't an easy task) All in all we had a great weekend hotel and staff are lovely. Thanks again Sean for everything, you are a credit to the hotel hope they know how much of a valuable asset you are and what a great dancer you are too 😉

Absolutely love this hotel. We have stayed here a few times in the past but most recently in September when our baby was only 3 weeks old. One of the staff was so kind as to bring our dinner to us without having to worry about room service charges as I was breastfeeding and didn't want to bring an upset hungry 3 week old into a restaurant. It made our stay so much easier!
Everything is reasonably priced, always a nice atmosphere and hosts gigs during town festivals at certain times of the year. Right in the heart of Leixlip so everything is easy to get to, and right beside the river with a relaxing walkway! They have a decent selection of gluten free options and even sell gluten free beer.

We stayed here for the night in a suite and it was an amazing room the beds were comfortable, the room was spacious ,we can not fault it. I have to give a mention to 3 staff in particular . Rita served us during our meal and she was so informative and just had such a friendly manner. Then Josh was in the lobby area while we had a drink and he was under pressure as it was extremely busy but he kept so calm and was able to assist everyone, while having breakfast I had enquired about gluten free options and the lovely Laura couldn’t have been more helpful and was so well educated on allergies. We will definitely be back again.

Came here for a family meal, my wife and 3 daughters and my parents. The meal was an absolute disaster, my wife is coeliac and made this point to our waiter so he would pass on this info to the kitchen staff, she was assured that her meal was gluten free, but was actually in the bathroom vomiting before we even left the hotel. My father and I ordered the rib eye steaks, both were overcooked and extremely tough and chewy, my dad ate nothing, he left three quarters of his meal as he just couldn't eat it, I left a quarter of my chewy meat, my daughter ordered the hake fish which tasted of detergent, our waiter never came back to check on our meals until way after everyone finished eating the bits that were edible. We pointed out the uneaten meals and he duly apologised and then came back and gave the 3 glasses of wine and a glass of cider on the house! The uneaten rib eye was E29.50 on its own, so the complimentary drinks didn't even cover the cost of that one dinner ! We've eaten here on at least 3 occasions before and never had a problem, it seems they saved up all the mistakes for our visit for this time. E168 of a meal wasted. Won't be back.
I was here for an all day meeting and the facilities were fine, good staff and a delicious lunch . Gluten free had 2 choices. Excellent. Great location
I had Sunday lunch here and the food was delicious. As a coeliac, I had so many options to choose from. The staff were lovely and the place was super stylish.

Great location, reasonable price. Staff were very nice, extremely comfortable beds and lovely rooms. I would say the shower was a little of a let down, hence the 4 stars. Unusual set up for breakfast, its menu order no buffet. Plenty of gluten free options for breakfast but the GF pancakes were a little doughy or stale maybe? I wasn’t 100% convinced on them. I did appreciate that I got my own bread basket with my own butter and fresh scone too! I would stay again even if for location alone

Girls trip away for 40th birthday:
Pros: hotel decor is lovely and glam, food was tasty and good portions. Wine was nice . Staff were friendly but not enough of them- see below . Breakfast service and food was really good. Bathroom in room was fab with strong rain shower and lots of toiletries.
Cons: Service for afternoon tea and dinner wasn’t great . Too little staff and seemed no one was over seeing operations so staff appeared a little chaotic trying to manage all the tables . Had booked afternoon tea well in advance with twice via telephone calls confirming coeliac options would be available. Our reservation was at 2pm but the two coeliacs didn’t get any food till after 3pm after the staff twice bringing out gluten options that had to be returned . At dinner , not enough staff and while the server was friendly she was also seating people so no one checking if we needed anything and took a long time to get basics like butter and water etc after asking multiple times . Hairdryer in room was faulty and the room lights weren’t all working.
All in all: nice stay but for the high price of accommodation and food would have expected more staff and more attentive to details.
Nestled in a stunning landscape, this venue offers a relaxed vibe and seamless service, perfect for unforgettable celebrations.

We got married in Hotel Doolin in September and are still struggling to put into words how incredible the entire experience was. We booked our wedding based on a wing and a prayer during covid, in the middle of a storm! We had no knowledge of the hotel or the area but immediately fell in love with the wild landscape and relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Our wedding coordinator, Niamh, was amazing and forthcoming with her expertise and advise. She was very responsive to any queries we had and helped us to navigate the wedding planning experience. We had our ceremony onsite, which also took the pressure off our guests trying to find their way around as we were all travelling up from Kerry.
While Niamh was amazing , we must also thank all the other staff such the accommodation staff, all front of house, as well as the Chefs and everyone behind the scenes. Furthermore, Loli was amazing on the morning of the wedding making sure the bridal party had everything they needed, sending over tea as and when required! The staff worked together seamlessly to provide an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were so pleasant and patient. We are a few months on now and our guests are still talking about how incredible the food was and how stunning and relaxed the venue was. What really affirmed our choice when booking hotel Doolin was the fact that our guests could park up for the weekend, we were able to book out the hotel and surrounding accommodation. Having the bar next door for afters and the next day was a big bonus. All dietary preferences catered for, specifically speaking coeliacs and vegan guests. The tasting meal we had was outstanding. There were so many additional thoughful little extras that were really appreciated. We enjoyed the experience so much that we are waiting to be invited back to another wedding as guests!

Went for bar food last evening, the place is always busy and the food is usually good.
The menu is way too fussy, too many choices, hard to read. Gluten free options should be on a separate menu so there can be no confusion about dietary requirements.
My daughter ordered a gluten free pizza but knew when her order arrived that the base was too elastic. The situation was promptly resolved without fuss, and she had a replacement pizza within minutes. It was loaded with good quality, fresh ingredients, it was a bit wet but overall very good.
My wife had the seafood medley, large portion of fresh fish, nicely seasoned and cooked with care. Her side of veg was overcooked, tasty but disappointing.
My mother had the "Ultimate Burger". Dried out bun containing overcooked beef that appeared to be processed. The bacon was inedible, appeared to be reheated as it was incinerated. After we left, she lamented that we need to get better at calling out bad food.
I had a toasted special with home cooked ham. The soup was good. The ham was pure fatty, the sandwich was greasy and soggy. It's hard to get a sandwich this wrong, it filled a gap but left an aftertaste of disappointment.
I've had better Guinness, it had all the flavour without the usual creaminess. I'd give it 4 out of 5. The pint glasses had a cloudy effect, like a chemical residue, it's hard to explain but the froth didn't hold to the glass as you'd normally see.
No doubt we'll go back, hopefully things are slightly better.

What a dreadful attitude this place has. Tried to book a celebratory meal for family, one of whom is coeliac. They do not cater for coeliacs nor would they let us bring our own food for him. Been to many places in Kerry and Spain but this is the first time we were flatly refused. I've eaten in the Arms many times but will never darken their doorstep again! PS last time I ate there, two weeks ago, the toilets were in a dreadful state. I had to speak to Reception who did not seem interested. Listowel Arms now renamed Armpits in our family.....interested to see if I get a response from the O'Callaghans!
