We were looking for a solution for gluten free food in Bologna. The Vecchio Mercato restaurant met the requirements because it is an AIC certified restaurant. We came at different times for lunch. Let's start by saying that the pasta they offer is all homemade. There are appetizers, first and second courses, both meat and fish and finally also desserts and ice creams, always made by them and NOT packaged. We took some aubergine appetizers (croquettes, parmigiana and rolls) all with excellent flavor and tasty enough to make you want to have more. But let's go slowly. The first ones. The maccheroncini with bacon and the very tasty Bolognese balanzoni gave no hint of a different flavor compared to a dish made with classic flours. Huge portions!!!! Here too, for the flavor (and if there had been some room in the stomach) we would have taken another portion. The seconds. The bacon with a bed of polenta cooked to perfection, balanced in flavor and very tender meat, so much so that it could be cut with a fork and finally the Petroniana cutlet. Well, do you know ceramic trays? Well it was full of meat, here too cooked to perfection and loaded with ham (for those who know it, you know what I'm talking about) we struggled to finish it!! And finally the desserts... I repeat, the difference with those made with wheat flour is absolutely not noticeable! The staff, knowledgeable and kind, made us feel at home, even recommending dishes, which turned out to be excellent advice on pairings! A 10 out of 10 for the Vecchio Mercato!

We received a recommendation today for the best Lasagna Bolognese in Bologna - it was correct. We had a fantastic meal tonight at La Capriata. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we were offered a dedicated Gluten Free menu which was a nice touch. All four of us really enjoyed our dinner.

We had lunch in this restaurant for my graduation, the food was delicious, from the pizzas to the first courses and also the desserts, the staff was very kind, and the place was very welcoming. The gluten-free cuisine is reliable and is effectively gluten-free and contamination-free, as unfortunately does not happen in other restaurants. Even though we were a little late due to some problems and with lunch we exceeded the closing time of the restaurant, the staff was still very kind and helpful in understanding the situation, without making us feel it in any way. I highly recommend this restaurant, thanks again!

Cozy place and impeccable service. The chef, super attentive to quality, came to our table and told us about the menu, the local products used and all the gluten-free alternatives in a detailed and careful way. Very attentive to gluten-free and above all to contamination, in fact most of the dishes on the menu can be adapted gluten-free. We felt very pampered and will definitely return.

A iconic stereotypical Italian corner restaurant/cafe, which I would recommend everyone to visit. The topping of the sandwich was very tasty with a lot of flavor, but the gluten free bread was quite directly dry. So much dry that I wonder if the ones deciding the bread even has tried it, because even cheap supermarket bread would be preferred above it. But it should be mentioned that the breads with gluten were by the rest of the group met with better reviews. The staff was few making at one point a long queue, as of the one attending the cash register where helping preparing the food. To be fair, the restaurant were at this moment quite crowded.

“Al Tavolaccio” is the place I was looking for: hospitality, friendliness, professionalism and quality food. The pizzas are plentiful, tasty and easily digestible. It is possible to choose particular flours and lactose-free alternatives. Not to mention the desserts: the choice is varied and also includes gluten-free and lactose-free ones. I also recommend the vegetables, delicious and with a wide choice.

Fantastic service, amazing kindness from all the staff and added value: they are well equipped for gluten free. Here celiacs can come without problems and enjoy excellent dishes. This is no small feat given that in Bologna, much of the catering perhaps offers vegan menus but no gluten free menus.

Welcoming, smiling and discreet staff, and careful to try to safely satisfy a person with celiac disease. Great choice of wines. Very good homemade crostini. the potato pie, the scamorza with ham, and a killer crescent. Care is taken in the products used and in the presentation. It still remains a tavern albeit with good food details. Correct prices.

This year too we chose Il Sapore Antico for the Christmas greeting dinner... you can never go wrong! High quality traditional Bolognese dishes in a family environment. The owner Franco is an exquisite person who, together with his wife, make you feel at home. There were 25 of us and we made the same menu for everyone. I have celiac disease and I ate a delicious mushroom risotto... but the messy tortellini were brushed aside by adults and children. The meat always excellent. Very good and tender.. a plus for the chips.. they are so good.!! You can't stop eating them 😀 We also had dessert... I had mascarpone with chocolate flakes.... Thanks for the hospitality. Definitely a very high level restaurant. Wise search for combinations that go well with my tastes. Pre-appetizer finger food tasty and beautiful to look at and good quality bread products. With pigeon and quail I relived flavors of childhood recalling good memories and with the dessert a truly excellent finish with a refined mix of fruit and basil aromas. All in a historic location and truly impeccable service even on gluten free.
