We came to this restaurant because they have a separate gluten free menu. The options are quite extensive, from gluten free spaghetti and pici to Tuscan beef tripe. They don't make the pasta themselves though. You do need to reserve in advance because the place is quite touristy and we found the atmosphere to be quite hectic.

A decent spot for a celiac trying to navigate eating out while traveling. Being handed an entirely separate and gluten free menu felt comforting after walking out of a restaurant who wouldn’t indicate which, if any, dishes were safe. The meal itself was good for being gluten free. I’m only a few months in to my diagnosis so I still compare to regular pastas and dishes which can be tough. I ordered the ravioli which was semi-bland but I still enjoyed it.

If you are looking for a restaurant that offers its entire menu with AND gluten-free + lactose-free, each cooked in its own isolated kitchen then look no further! Mama Eat is THE restaurant in Florence where food intolerances can share their table with people without intolerance without any restrictions on the menu. The staff is very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice, a little away from the busy places which allows you to be calm even outside.

Very good food, friendly service, Ribollita the best I've ever eaten. Upon arrival, you will receive free bread, a glass of Proseco and a small dessert at the end. One of the few restaurants with a gluten-free menu. I will definitely come back here.

By chance from Carrara we went to dinner in this paradise for celiacs and non-celiacs. Ciccia pizza, desserts and top service... Go there, I recommend it.

I have a gluten allergy and they were amazing! They brought me a separate bowl of gluten free bread and made sure to carefully prepare my meal, making sure there was no cross contamination. This restaurant is a must try, DELICIOUS food!!

The food is excellent: the pizza, the starters, the first courses, the second courses, etc. it's all very good. For celiacs it is a paradise, all pizzas are gluten-free on request, they also have gluten-free pasta on request, bread and focaccia. The staff is kind, welcoming and attentive to customer needs. The dress does not make the priest! Come in and try... wide choice, we tried everything: fish, appetizer, GLUTEN-FREE pizza (excellent) and first courses with fresh pasta. Everything was really excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful.

I give 1 star because you can't give 0. By phone I had explicitly asked if the gluten-free pizza dough was fresh, they told me yes, obviously the base was packaged of poor quality and the water was from the tap and hot with a strong chlorine flavour. Really poor quality/price ratio. We will never go back again really bad experience

The gluten-free red tagliatelle with wild boar are really good and tasty, the homemade gluten-free bread is served hot and is delicious... very kind staff. It's a restaurant in Florence that does almost everything gluten-free, without contamination, I really liked it!❤❤❤

What can I say to you Marco, first of all thank you very much. Hospitality, friendliness, advice and recommendations, all PERFECT! Let's start with the wines, or rather, the warm and enveloping atmosphere and welcome. Wine: poetry in a bottle, 2 out of 2 highly appreciated recommendations! Mixed appetizer to share, top quality raw materials typical of the area, expertly enhanced and without corrupting the taste, on the contrary! Sharing first course: Scrigni cheese, pepper and truffle with a little pear which gave a sweet note to the dish... another 10+! And then the triumph on the table: The Fried Steak! A must for this place that works meat like a master! We are doing the review before the dessert and the bill but by now it is clear: Here you don't eat, you fly! Keep up the good work and thanks again for the memorable experience! Ps also many choices of desserts and gluten-free dishes

As someone who has celiac disease, I loved having dinner here! You can clearly tell that they care about their gluten free clients, they make sure they eat safely. I was told that they use different ovens for gf pizzas, and they take a lot of care for crossed contamination. So, it’s really safe for gf people to eat here. Also, the food was really good. I ordered the MAIALONA, and it was an amazing pizza. The service was really good, and the atmosphere was amazing. We had an outside table and we were really comfortable. The price was really good, we will definitely come back.

I took a Florentine ossobuco with accompanying beans (served not hot enough). Even though the need for a gluten-free option was indicated in the booking, they did not provide gluten-free bread and a whole series of fried dishes are contaminated with gluten and therefore not suitable for celiacs. The tiramisu was good. The place is characteristic and close to S. Maria Novella (station). Ultimately sufficient judgment no more.

If you’re looking for a local no nonsense restaurant with great food, this is the place. The menu covers all the essentials and features amazing pasta and local wines. They also cater for gluten free pasta. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome (speaking English, French and Italian). Highly recommend!

Restaurant a stone's throw from the Duomo. My wife and I spent a Florentine weekend to appreciate the culture that splendid Florence has to offer. We had lunch and dinner at Lo Scudo, in the hope that they would offer gluten free alternatives. My wife, who is celiac, ate an excellent pasta with wild boar ragù and some delicious strips of lemon chicken with spinach and roasted potatoes. The staff was attentive both in taking orders and in delivering what was requested, with due care. So thank you and see you next time!

Ate there twice, one was a gluten-free pasta dish (you have to ask for the gluten-free pasta but it is a not a problem for them), the other was steak. Both dishes were super tasteful and the portion size was also good. The service was also great and professional. Would recommend it to anybody.

I've been coming with my friends for about a year and we always leave with full bellies and satisfied. I am gluten intolerant and gluten-free focaccia is served instead of bread (which is not to be taken for granted when receiving a good product and not packaged bread), but the first courses can be made gluten-free. Really delicious and lean meat, cured meats and cheeses. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quality dinner or lunch!!! Excellent service and Fabio (the waiter) is very competent, polite and attentive to the customer

A great Italian restaurant with indoor as well as a beautiful outdoor patio for seating!! The staff were very friendly and helpful! I told them I had celiac and they told me that they could make GF pasta for me and showed me which sauces I could choose from. I ended up getting Paccheri Cacio e Pepe which is a cheese and black pepper sauce.

If you are in Florence or the surrounding area you definitely have to go here! We have rarely eaten so well! There is also gluten-free bread, gluten-free pasta and gluten-free pizza! We were in culinary heaven... the meat was incredibly tender and good, the starters were just the perfect amount and everything was a superlative taste experience! We ate here twice during our 4 day stay. The service team welcomed us with family warmth and we felt completely at ease and we were also given excellent advice when it came to wine. Price performance is top class and the ambience is stylishly casual and you feel very comfortable! Thank you very much and keep it up! We'll be back ❤️

If you are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner of 10 for a very reasonable price, this is the place. We returned the next day and we would continue doing so, if our vacation were not over. The shame was not finding it sooner. If you pass by and don't go, you miss it...
