The Dough Room!
My pizza was so tasty 🍕
I’ve been to a few pizza places with gluten free and this spot had a delicious gluten free crust! 🤤
I topped my pizza with alot of tasty toppings like,
Olive oil
Crème fraiche
Onion
Broccolini
Garlic
Mushrooms
Black olives
Arugula
Herbs
Basil
SOOO GOOD
I ate it for dinner & breakfast 😄😄

Too salty / too much sauce.
We only ordered gluten free options and maybe their regular menus are fine. Their gluten free 'pasta' was, in fact, Korean starch noodle (for japchae). In fact they kind of warned it (they said it was 'sweet potato noodle' which wasn't wrong). The noodles stuck with each other and the texture didn't really go well with the pasta sauce. The Shrimp Scampi was super salty, the California Bowl and the pizza had too much sauce on it.
I really loved their menu selections and had high expectations, so it was quite a disappointment.
BTW, this place is a take out place with a single big table where you can also dine in.
With a vibrant ambiance, a gorgeous bar, and a cozy atmosphere, this spot is perfect for dates or catching up with friends.

We had a very nice server and there’s a great ambiance at Scopa, perfect for dates and connecting with friends alike. They have a gorgeous bar, large window, candles on the tables, and all of our food came perfectly coursed. We were easily able to make a same-day reservation via the Resy app, and I do recommend making a reservation in advance because it was popping when we arrived. For parking, you can either park in the connected valet lot ($13 on a Monday) or look for free street parking (we found it pretty easily, but then again it was a Monday).
There are the top four absolute must-order items you should order to share:
1. Hot Antipasti - Scallops Oreganata ($23) with brown butter, bread crumbs, & lemon. I’m gluten free so I asked for no breadcrumbs, and I also recommend ordering a side of gluten free bread to dip in the brown butter after you finish enjoying the scallops because they have the absolute best gluten free cheesecheese bread! They only came with 2 scallops in an order so consider ordering enough so each person can have at least 1 full scallop.
2. Hot Antipasti - Mortadella Meatballs ($21) with pistachio pesto, arugula, & parmesan cheese. This came with 3 medium-large sized meatballs covered in a delicious green pesto - don’t let looks deceive you, even if this isn’t how you expect meatballs to look they’re delish.
3. Cold Antipasti - Heirloom Tomatoes ($18) with sweet onion, basil, ricotta salata cheese, sherry vinegar, & olive oil. If you enjoy tomatoes of all shapes and sizes, this is the dish for you. My favorite were the little orange tomatoes.
4. Salad - Raw Brussels Sprouts Salad ($22) with generous pecorino romano cheese, parsley, grapes, olive oil, sherry vinegar, & toasted almonds. This was a good portion size and the best raw Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had.
While I did really enjoy the flavor of oysters themselves and their sauces, and I do want to put them as item 5 to order, each of the oysters had some shell bits had to spit out, and it only came with 1 spoon and 0 mini forks. The oysters come with lemon slices, cocktail sauce, shredded horseradish, mignonette, and are $4.50 each with a minimum of 6. I would order them again, but enjoy them carefully and hope that they’re shucked better next time.
However…
Maybe things were off because it was a Monday and they had multiple large last minute parties walk in. Maybe I should have gone for the pastas instead of the below because it is an Italian restaurant. Maybe I’m just a person who enjoys more seasoning on seafood or less sauce on pork chops, but a few of the dishes weren’t exactly as good as I was expecting.
Unless you love canned tuna, absolutely avoid the Sicilian Tuna Cold Antipasti ($19) with market green beans, fingerling potato, capers, lemon, & olive oil. It wasn’t until we mentioned to our server our strong disappointment with the dish, as we were expecting either Tuna Crudo or Seared Tuna, that our server told us that he usually steers guests away from it. It also had zero seasoning, and boy did it need it. It also feels like this dish should have automatically been served with crackers.
The Amberjack Crudo ($25) with watermelon radish, bulls blood micro greens, & herb oil needed a combo-sauce or a stronger flavored oil, as it was very bland as-is. Luckily not a fishy-fish, but still lackluster for their only fish crudo on the menu.
For the Mains, they were already sold out of the 24oz T-bone Steak ($82) when we arrived, and the server recommended the Pork Chop. The generous portion of Pork Chop ($66) came with crispy fingerling potatoes, roasted shallots, olives, capers, garlic, balsamic vinegar, & fresh herbs. The balsamic was more of a thick, sweet, heavy glaze, and it overpowered the meat. Personally, we both felt it was over-sauced.
A chill pizza joint with a lively atmosphere and attentive service, perfect for satisfying those late-night cravings in a pet-friendly space.

We ordered a gluten free peperoni pizza. It was one of the best gluten free pizzas I've ever tried.
Warning: if you really cannot eat sny gluten or cross contaminated food, don't go there, they use the same utensils for all the pizza, even if the dough is gluten free you can get sick.
The taste was amazing.
The guys making the pizzas and the bartender were very nice.
The neighbourhood at night looked scary and dangerous, even if inside the pizzeria was okey.

New fav place for Indian food! I was looking for a gluten free place on melrose and it did not disappoint! Im recovering from double jaw surgery so im not allowed to chew foods.. tired of soups! The Nirvana with tofu has been the best meal ive had during my recovery. Loved it! Thank you for a lovely dinner Roots❤️
Although we were very excited to try this restaurant, given the great reviews and gluten free options, the experience was a HUGE disappointment. The pizza was like eating frozen cardboard. I would’ve preferred a frozen pizza over this, 100 times over. It was just tasteless and textureless. In addition, the waiting staff had something to be desired. From having to ask for water refills to getting the kitten towel in our pizza and removing topping from half a slice, we were not impressed. Save your money and enjoy a pizza from dominos (I promise it tastes better than this and won’t cost you 25 a pizza).

Finally went here with a friend, both of us have visited family in Italy throughout our lives (for me: Salerno region) and needed to catch up and vent over good food. This pasta is so good. Everything there felt like being g back in Italy and not the tourist traps. They even had stelline/pastina and bone marrow!
We ended up getting bone marrow, tiramisu, and the Angus ragù and wild boar ragù pastas. Everything was incredible and I've had dreams about the tiramisu since. They also use really good flour here it seems because I'm someone who can't really digest most wheat, not gluten but all wheat in the US just makes me feel sick almost like an allergy. The bread and pasta here was the rare wheat outside of Italy that I didn't feel sick, I didn't feel bloated, I wasn't in pain for days. Just stelline-eyed thinking about when I could visit again and try the next pasta.
Friend is the same way and said the same thing.
I only wish they had little pasta flight samplers 😅
For allergies: they're very good. I have a shellfish allergy and cross contamination wasn't a concern and there were plenty of non-shellfish options that were fantastic.

The food, service, and outdoor dining ambiance were all fantastic. We came here for dinner because it's close to my moms place in MDR and they allow her to bring her emotional support dog on the patio. I would come back again for all the other reasons. In addition, I'm gluten-free, and they were very accommodating! One of the items I had was gluten-free pasta (I always ask for cooked well=soft) with their pesto cream sauce as a side. Very delicious!

Great Italian restaurant, enjoyed the good service. Really popular, whole place filled up by 6pm. I enjoyed the meatballs, portions were giant, could have fed a family. Wished there was a more keto offering, but hey it's an Italian restaurant known for good pasta dishes. Did offer gluten free pasta tho. Enjoyable.

Ordered a Gluten-Free crust as I have a strong gluten allergy - not it. Tough, dense cardboard :( The toppings were phenomenal so it's such a bummer that the crust ruined it.

Exceptional gluten free celiac safe pizza, in LA !!!
I have celiac disease, so finding safe joints to enjoy a warm pie is always tough. I called here ahead of time to ask if they can cater to someone with celiac, and the manager who picked up the phone (his name is Fred) was so nice!
Absolutely outstanding customer service. I felt right at home. I'll be completely honest though, as good as the pizza was, I've had tastier GF pizza in LA. However, I'll be darned to ever find customer service as amazing as I did tonight, so I'm not even complaining. 5-stars all-around!

I was on my own and wanted an outdoor table. There were no open tables so they sat me at the bar. Hannah behind the bar was amazing! Great energy and SO knowledgeable about the food. I had the ocean trout and it was beautifully presented, light and so flavorful. The gluten free chocolate hazelnut cake was delicious. Highly recommend.

I really love their pizzas! Especially since I have a gluten problem and their dough doesn't affect me at all. Only reason I'm giving them 4 stars, is because when my husband went there to buy raw pizza dough, they were very rude and dismissive towards him, and said they didn't sell dough, that was surprisingly because I've bought raw dough from them without an issue a few times. I still order from them though!

Our group of 7 stopped in here after a grueling day at Universal. The wait for a table took a long time, but we were patient and boy was it worth it!
3 hungry kids and 4 exhausted adults were all pleased as punch with our meals. My husband and I are gluten intolerant and the server was very confident in knowing what would work to be GF. The roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts were delicious! They have GF penne pasta as a substitute for most of their dishes and the chicken picatta I had was flavorful and plentiful!!
Everyone cleared their plates and were more than happy. Shout out to our hard working server - a Monday crew during a holiday rush time caused delays but he was attentive despite serving 4 big groups.

I have been to Maria's many times and the quality is on point each time. This past weekend I celebrated a milestone birthday and without question wanted to provide catering from Maria's. I ordered the pasta with pink sauce, a gluten/vegan pasta marina, 2 salads, garlic knotts, and bruschetta and it all got devoured. So many friends asked me where the food came from. I am so so happy how much everyone ate everything, hardly a drop left for leftovers!
Thank you Maria's for being a part of my birthday celebration. I look forward to the next time I come and eat in person!

It's a take away pizza place with a few tables and a funky statue. It's also conveniently open past midnight and has a commercially made gluten free pizza crust. Vegetarian pizza had generous toppings but we were too hungry to take a picture. Long read trip. Thanks Mr. Pizza.

Quaint corner pasta and pizza spot. It was busy on the Tuesday eve my friends and I visited. All three of us loved our pasta orders. The beet salad was delicious. I require gluten free, and the staff were readily knowledgeable about what could be offered as gluten free (which was most of the pasta options). Pizza can also be made gluten free, however for those who are celiac, the pizza is all made in the same oven so cross contamination can occur. Expansive wine menu with several by the glass options ranging from $15-25. Server was great!

Nested within Grand Central Market, a great find with gluten free past options. The Mac and cheese is what dreams are made of and such a good and cheesy Mac and cheese!! Definitely recommend. Their lemonade was great as well.
Super friendly staff comes by with a cheese grater or anything else you like but before you've even thought to ask. Gluten free options, service dog welcome, paperdalle with Italian sausage was excellent. Aanrader / recommended!

Visited last minute on a Tuesday night. Very busy which surprised me, to add to the excitement superb ambiance.
Love the dim lights and the best part was an available gluten free menu.
The staff made sure to communicate with the manager and chef.👌🏽
Highly recommend:
the pear & Brie pizza.
shrimp ceviche
Sea bass 👌🏽
Wine
Sangria
And to top it off the double chocolate cake 👌🏽
Really excited to come back and visit. Thank you.
I love this place! Everything is good, the mushroom & truffle oil flatbread is the best!! We also loved the pesto sauce w/ gluten free penne and beef meatballs and the cannolis!
Left: meatball - right top: gluten free pasta with salmon , bottom arabiata. Overall service was good. Pasta was over cooked and meatball was kinda old( i could taste the oldness) . Marinara sauce was delicious but the arabiata was supposed to be spicy with chili flakes which i didnt see any. Wont go back for a second time personally, but not bad just to try out.

This pizzeria offered inside and outside dining. I was greeted when I walked in and seated immediately. They offered bread rolls and our drinks were served promptly. The pizza was delicious. The pepperoni was good, it wasn't evenly distributed but the pizza was delicious and the dough was on point. They offer lunch specials and plenty parking available . It's a family friendly environment and I loved the wall decor. They also offer gluten-free pizza 👍👍

Today the business made a big mistake on my order. They sent a message the same day. I’ll give them a ton of credit for that. The store was virtually empty though, so I’m not fully convinced by the anyone can make a mistake excuse. I’m not calling foul play. I’m just saying pay attention to what you’re doing.
In any case the review went up one star and service went from one to four stars. They were very nice so I’ll trust them. They offered a panini on the house and that is kind but I don’t accept comped food. That’s a yelp thing.
Below is the original review.
They put tomatoes in my panini! Blech! I asked them to not put any in. Big mistake! I hate tomatoes! I actually bit into the sandwich and ate some tomato which is so gross! Ruined my first taste!
They would have gotten a better rating.
Anyway I really like the bread they use. It’s like high quality Mexican bolillos from Central Mexico. The panini is served warm and the bread is soft and tasty. The cold cuts have pistachios in them and are pretty good. the stracciatella is great. The pesto could be better but it’s ok. All in all you’ll enjoy the panini. It’s not the flat kind you’re used to. It’s more like a high quality roll. The panini is not big and it’s expensive. It’s just under $18 with a 20% tip. I also got an Italian lemon soda for under $3.
The place is small and narrow and looks cool. Cool music.
They have vegetarian and gluten free options. Vegan too I think.

Tried this place with a group for the first time last Saturday and everyone in the group was extremely satisfied! We all got pasta and loved our dishes and even some good gluten free pastas(not all dishes available gluten free, but most pastas are). Oh Oste, what can I say? Best Italian in LA? YES definitely, but who’s going to believe me considering all I seem to review are Thai restaurants? The staff is warm and attentive, the food is fabulous (fyi all their world-class pizzas just happen to be nearly gluten-free) and the whole space glows like a big bronze lantern. Come and see for yourself. Really picks up after 7pm— Xx
