Ranch Camp is part bike store, part restaurant/bar. I want to spend more time at both. To sound like a nerd, the thing that grabbed the most of my attention was the stylish nature of some of the bike helmets. I noticed this before I took a gander at the menu.
The menu, the menu! Two different selections of fries made it a hard choice to pick only one carb, but the Friendly Fries were a definite win. The two different dipping sauces that came with the Friendly Fries were great. The sweet potato fries were fried and salted to taste, and provided an excellent platform to deliver the flavor sauces that came with it.
The portion size of the food is something to write about and notice. The Cobb Salad was healthy, designed for afternooners who are coming back from a hike or a bike ride. The pulled chicken, along with the bacon, gave it good texture along with the rest of the salad.
Gluten-free options were available, and their drink selection provided a few options for the person who is gluten-conscious. I'd say that it's hard for a business to run two separate functions, but somehow, Ranch Camp does it.
One last thing before you finish reading, if you plan on staying in the Stowe area for longer than 3 days, you may want to come back here to try some of the other menu items. It all looked so good...

I ate in the Burlington one while visiting from Pennsylvania. I really wish we had one of these near where I live. The abundance of gluten-free choice and dairy free choice was exciting for me. Food was very tasty but for the burger it costs $3 to add on sweet potato fries, 2 or $3 for a gluten free bun, and even $2 freaking dollars to add tomato and onion, what?!? All these things cost normal prices, are easily available, and should be options not requiring repricing. Furthermore the moment I walked in with my water bottle filled with spring water I was told I couldn't drink that in there due to policy, but they didn't have any non-sparkling pure water alternatives, instead forcing you to drink disgusting heavily chemical laden tap water. I never write reviews so the fact i'm writing this is your sign. We can't support businesses with practices like these with our hard earned money.

The food was fantastic. We ordered 2 different crepes but with buckwheat as one of us have celiacs. They took the allergy seriously which was much appreciated and the food was much better than we expected considering they were suing buckwheat as the alternative.
Will definitely be eating here again when we visit.
Loved that they are open a little late so when you’re in more of a breakfast for dinner mood they have options available.

I love the sesame chicken salad! You can sub out the grains for more greens. and The chicken is perfectly cooked in a delicious Asian marinade. The roasted broccoli and crunchy carrots add more interest and nutrition. The dressing is flavorful. This salad is so healthy and delicious that I actually prefer it to their excellent burgers.

The Meltdown and their staff consistently hit it out of the park. I have never had a bad meal or service at their establishment. Even the pickiest of eaters in my life dream over the next time they can dine here. What people have to remember is that each menu item is literally an entree made into a sandwich. The explosiveness of flavors, the freshness, and the dynamic ingredient list make every bite a culinary experience. The price of produce has gone up and so have menu items everywhere. As someone who travels for work, I’ve spent more on meals elsewhere and been disgusted and unfulfilled. A result which never happens at The Meltdown. While I dislike being gluten free, it’s an unfortunate reality for me. Options aren’t as widespread as people think and every GF meal I’ve had here makes me question “how can something this good be GF?!” I’m given the comfort of food I miss with every item and a plate so full that leftovers are always taken home. The owners expect a caliber from their staff which is sorely missing in today’s world, bringing the dining-out experience back to life. I had the GF Gobbler special and it’s no easy feat to make a whole separate group of dishes to cater to a small group that requires it. From the first bite, I felt the flavors of home and my childhood across my palate and it carried through to my last bite later in the evening.

A place that advertises an entirely separate GF oven and has vegan cheese sounds perfect for our family. But their GF dough is made of wheat starch, which is NOT sufficiently free of protein for many with celiac and anyone with allergies. No sense having a dedicated space if you are using ingredients that quite possibly contain gluten (speaking as a health professional who has done the research on wheat starch ppm of gluten). Only other item available for me on the menu was a $10 "salad" of just greens...which came salted?!...and the salty cured meat appetizers. Huge huge let down. Please avoid if you are wheat or gluten free.

We had a wonderful experience at Shakedown Barbecue and Stowe Cider. We arrived at 7 PM on a Saturday night and we’re quickly seated. The wait staff and chef were highly knowledgeable about gluten-free options and were very accommodating regarding our family's allergies. After dinner, the owner, Mark, gave us a brief tour of the cider production. The food and cider were delicious; we can't wait to return. PS. The nachos were the kind that is put together and then baked in the oven & the cheesy gooeyness that makes them the best! On top of all of this, Tim Reynolds was playing on the stage in the next room over!

We were looking for a breakfast place in Stowe around noontime and most of the places were already done serving breakfast. We kind of stumbled upon The Skinny Pancake while on our drive to town and called to see if they had gluten free options and were so excited to find out they did for our daughter with celiac. Upon entering you can instantly feel the Vermont warmth and style with the exposed wood, fresh made coffee from Artisan brand and smell of fresh crepes. The service was friendly and the crepes were delicious! My daughter loved her gluten free Chocolate Hazelnut crepe and asked to come back again! The vegetable crepe was so tasty and flavorful. I never write reviews but this is definitely the best and my favorite diner i've ever been to. We stumbled upon this place while staying in Montpelier for a skiing/VT winter trip. I am gluten free by preference and I was happily surprised to see gluten free french toast on the menu. It's also made from local bread that they sell at the co-op. Absolutely delicious with the VT maple syrup they serve. The coffee also tastes really good and so is everything else we got every day we came (We loved it so much we came back every morning) The homefries are so yummy and the maple meats are insanely good. My boyfriend and I kept waking up excited to come here to eat for breakfast because it's so good and affordable. The staff are also so friendly and cute. Do yourself a favor and eat at wayside it's worth every penny. Places like this are hard to come by where we live so we are so grateful we found it. Will absolutely come back to Montpelier to eat here!

Great food! Great service! While the four of us all had beautifully cooked and delicious food, we had to order a second round of the ice cream sandwich dessert because it was so good, lol. Over-priced toppings. My wife and I went to AFB specifically for gluten-free and dairy free Flatbread pizza. Unfortunately, they were out of dairy free cheese, so we had to get it without. However, we added toppings such as chicken, Olives, and sun-dried tomatoes. AFB charges $2.50 for each additional topping, so you'd expect the toppings to be generous, right? Nope. The chicken was thinly shredded and sparse. Same for the sun-dried tomatoes. The olive topping probably equated to one or two whole Olives cut up and distributed across the pizza. So we paid almost $8 for maybe $1 worth of toppings. Absurd.
