After the acquisition of the business to the new owner, things have continued to slide downhill. This place used to be my favorite however the new owner also does not have celiac and is not aware of the quality required to run this bakery correctly. They've been continually chopping the quality of ingredients and no longer use purity protocol oats as I've gotten sick several times now from them. Additionally, they have an Okay rating in terms of health and food safety after having some incidents.
Great food and ambience. They have options for vegan and gluten free dishes and a very nice sun room with a fountain that helps provide a great atmosphere.
This was a truly amazing meal!! Fish of the day was Halibut and prepared gluten free. It was so good. My son had gluten free Fish & Chips - first time and is hooked!! We saved room for dessert of a cheesecake that is something we will get again this weekend! Of course gluten free!!
Amber was so kind and took great care of us! The place is cozy and great atmosphere!! We will eat again there soon.
**To note- my son and I both have Celiac Disease and had no issues. Truly gluten free!!
Portage Bay Cafe in South Lake Union is a gem for breakfast and brunch lovers! The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, with a trendy yet casual vibe. Their commitment to organic and locally sourced ingredients truly shines through in every dish. The Bananas Foster French Toast and berry toppings bar are absolute must-tries—fresh, delicious, and incredibly satisfying. The portions are generous, and the service is consistently friendly and efficient.
Whether you’re dining solo or with family, this spot caters to everyone, including vegan and gluten-free options. Outdoor seating is pet-friendly, making it a great choice for dog owners. Yes, there’s often a wait, but the food is worth it! Highly recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting on weekends. A fantastic place to start your day in Seattle! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We are Texans born and raised and was curious about the Mexican Food here in Seattle… we walked over to Cactus and we’re not disappointed! The service was stellar from the start, we were immediately greeted by the manager and walked to our table. We never had a moment of waiting and enjoyed the smiles all around! The vibe was nice and the food was good (I have a gluten and dairy allergy and they were accommodating). Must try (good margs)!
I do not recommend this place.
Food poisoning. No kids menu. Not accommodating. The waiter not knowing the difference between dairy-free and gluten-free. Unfortunately, that was from our experience at Rock Creek.
We dined with a large group (11 people) to celebrate a birthday/wedding. We were seated in a semi private area upstairs in a corner. Which was nice. I called ahead to ask if I could bring individually packed custom cookies as a gift for the couple we were celebrating. They informed me that it would be $3 per person to do that. Needless to say, we didn’t do that. So bizarre.
One family in our group had a small child. We were disappointed they didn’t have a kids menu. They offered pasta with butter or olive oil but then tried to sell us the sea bass. We asked if we could go next door and get a hot dog for the little one and they said no. We weren’t asking for much. Just something for the child to eat. The family ended up leaving our party, taking the child next door to eat first- then returning to eat their meal. So inconvenient!!
The child has food allergies, but the waiter kept interchanging dairy-free and gluten-free as if they were the same. It was really frustrating to be offered gluten-free food that has dairy in it, when we specifically said the child was ‘dairy-free’. Please educate your staff!
Lastly, a couple in our group ended up with food poisoning after the dinner and was out of sorts for days.
We will not be back.
The gal at the register was great. Kind, informative and patient, also fun!
My biscuit was great- so thankful for a good gluten free biscuit!! The sandwich was tasty and I wish I could grab these more often. Outside, you order at the window and wait for your to-go order. Not really seating- which I didn’t realize in advance.
Brownie, with their version of nut-free peanut butter, was INSANELY good. Loved this place. Dropped some $ on a selection of their goodies. Nothing has disappointed *chefs kiss* If you are in Seattle, and want/need gluten free, go here.
Unfortunately while dining here I ordered a pasta and asked for them to make it gluten free, however once I received it the noodles were off so I made sure to ask again if it was gluten free in which he said “isn’t that what the menu says” (it said to ask for it to be gluten free) and he later confirmed it was not. He did take it off at the end of the meal and the other food like the artichoke was delicious, but this is a problem unfortunately.
Obsessed with this place. Their gluten free fried chicken is the best gluten free fried chicken I've ever had - I honestly cannot even tell the difference and that's an incredible culinary feat.
Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in Seattle. I've tried so many dishes and love all of them. there are so many options for different diet restrictions such as vegetarian and gluten free. It's one of the few celiac-safer restaurants that my loved one feels safe to eat at too.
Service was nice, coffee was good but to people who eat gluten free I'd skip this place. Got the gf cinnamon rolls and gf pecan muffin both were bad. I've had really good gf before and this was a mixture of dry with dense and bland, not good. Flavor was good on the muffin but it was so dry. The non gf items looked good but if you have a gluten intolerance or celiac I'd find somewhere else to eat.
Only a couple dishes could be made gluten free and none of the desserts could really be modified to gluten free. Even so the pasta sauce was delicious and made up for the lack of options. We had a dessert red wine (recioto della valpolicella) that was absolutely delicious, the chocolate notes were mouthwatering. Even so for the price and the serving sizes I probably wouldn’t go back, especially if you have a food allergy.
Honestly was pretty disappointed in this place. Had been thinking of checking it out for a while with my partner who has celiac disease. Our server was great, knowledgeable and able identify gluten free items and get us gluten free chips. First off the restaurant seemed fairly busy and our server seemed to be the only one working the floor plus someone behind the bar. She did a great job considering how much she had to handle. Our three margaritas took 15+ minutes, though they were delicious. I had the blood orange flavor. For dinner I had the beef in chile Colorado burrito and it was FULL of rice and pickled jalapeño, I assumed there would be sauce/beef visible inside but I only found a small amount of meat closer to the center. My partner had the pollo asada plate and enjoyed it though also felt it took very long for what we got. Overall I appreciate the attention to gf/celiac options but I don’t think I will be returning here considering the price and quality.
All day and every day yes. I told myself I was going to be adventurous and not order their signature paella, but I ordered the paella 😀 The flavors and seafood was cooked to perfection, and I had enough to bring some home as well. I only wish that I had that char rice/ socarrat though there was like a little of it around the top of the paella pan. The wait staff was so attentive and recommended a delicious red (since I asked for red and enjoying their sangria) to go with the paella, so when she said it also tasted good with the gluten free cake I had to say yes. She spoke to me of her dreams of getting her sommelier certification- which I think she's already there!!

Great seats and atmosphere. Server was attentive but did not overly linger.
Food was ok. Chowder is star would probably just stick with that next time.
Lots of gluten free potions including gluten free desserts.
Food was decent. Appreciated that they have a lot of gluten free options. Their potatoes were mushy when I wished they were crispy. Good eggs benedict though!
The food was delicious and the portions were huge!!! The atmosphere was hectic even early in the Sonday morning. But I will recommend here for a quick breakfast. Also tons of vegetarian and gluten-free options!!
Great cafe in belltown! Organic and super clean ingredients. The owner was very nice and helped me order for dairy free. They have many gluten free and vegan out also do halal meat. Service was excellent and the atmosphere very comfortable. Plenty of seating and a good array of healthy options on the menu. Plenty of street parking and easy walk from public transit. Bathrooms available.
Dia de Los Muertos themed Mexican restaurant in Fremont that had vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options and a great bar! They also have choices of outdoor seating.
I was very skeptical to try this place because I have to eat gluten free due to having celiac disease. I was blown away at how amazing the service/staff, atmosphere, and food was! I informed the waiter that I was gluten free and he instantly removed the soy sauce from the table and brought me their house made gluten free soy sauce. 98% of their menu is gluten free and everything fried in the frier is gluten free. There is also a ton of vegetarian options. We ended up coming here twice on our trip to Seattle because it is THAT good! It’s about a 5 minute walk from the Climate Pledge stadium and they are opened late so this is a must after a hockey game. Some people have complained about the price but personally I would give my first born child to them just to eat their food.
We were a little worried when the menu constantly mentions "organic" and "gluten-free"... Some places like that can be pretentious and the food is often disappointing...
That wasn't the case here! The menu isn't smothered in meat, but they still offer plenty of options. Very tasty breakfast, although my boyfriend's egg still had very runny whites - but he didn't mind.
The only thing was I wish the server mentioned the berry bar to us. We didn't notice it until we were leaving but apparently there's a berry bar with fresh fruit and cream to make yourself a little parfait kind of thing? I'm not sure because we didn't know it was there, but there's a sign that says "one visit to the berry bar per entree."
The food was good enough that we will be back. And that berry bar is going to get some action next time!
This is my go-to restaurant whenever I'm on Queen Anne. The owners are so kind and funny, and the employees seem to really enjoy working there. As a former server and manager of a restaurant, this matters so much. I got the spicy green juice, loved it. The French lentil bowl with a poached egg, incredible. And split the gluten free cinnamon roll with a friend, be still my heart. Literally everything is delicious and you leave feeling light and glowy from the good vibes of the food, atmosphere, and sense of community.
The food was very good. Plenty of veggie and gluten free options as well as meat. We tried dolmas, salad, veggie and lamb burgers and harrisa vegetables. They were all pretty good and tasty although I would like a bit more spice or taste on the dolmas. The service was pretty good too. Nice casual place with reasonable pricing. I did not like that there were open messy boxes inside the restaurant. The washroom cleanliness could also improve. Overall, this is a place we liked and recommend and would like to go back to.
Had a wonderful meal here while in Seattle for business. Needed to take clients somewhere nice but also safe for me to eat with Celiac.
Menu was clearly marked Gluten Free and both hostess and wait staff made extra notes that I had celiac.
There is a decent amount of gluten free options to enjoy and not be left feeling like there’s only one or two things on the menu you can order.
Had zero issues after eating and 12 hours later still feeling good.
Atmosphere was awesome, oysters were fresh and amazing and the Scallops and Prawns were flavorful and delicious.
Great meal and great night out.
A few things:
1) loved the affirming environment and good vibes. Happy pride!
2) the wait for food was SIGNIFICANTLY longer than what we were told/what the sign said upon arrival. We even ordered ahead. Instead of 30 mins, it took over an hour to get our food. It was good, but not good enough to take that amount of time to make...
3) the small amount of seating outside consisted of rickety little chairs and tables, which are great for smaller folks, but not inclusive for bigger folks, or those with disabilities. This was disappointing.
4) the gluten free biscuit my partner got was like a dense, starchy, hockey puck. Do not recommend.
I think there are definitely some improvements that could be made to this restaurant's operations.
I was in Seattle for a conference and came to Tidal twice because it was so good.
The oysters, fish and chips, cocktails, and even desserts were phenomenal. Clearly, because I had to come back for their weekend breakfast (not pictured because I ate it so quickly).
A special thank you to Veasita, George, and Manty (I apologize if I misspelled names). They were so helpful, personable, and charming. Next time I am in Seattle I will be back for happy hour! I only wish I didn’t leave before the shuck and sip class, I would have been the first to sign up.
Note: AMAZING gluten free options here!

A place for folks with a sweet tooth.
I found the lava cakes to be like starbucks/dunkin/cheesecake factory level sweet. The creme brulee was my favorite and I would get again. It was really creamy. The $5 hard cider was good value.
A casual spot where you order up front, take a number and bus your own tables.
I am a fan of the inclusive menu ( gluten free and local) and also they make sure customers don't misgender their staff. There is also coffee, tea and wine.
Parking is difficult since it is caphill but it is less than 10 minutes from the caphill station and directly on a bus line.
Service = 10 stars! I can't say enough kind things about my experience at Terra Plata last evening. I have numerous food sensitivities and our wonderful server took pride in navigating the menu and making sure I could have a well-rounded meal (including the gluten free/vegan focaccia). I felt cared for and I could relax and enjoy. I look forward to returning soon!
This was a great find for us. The drinks were perfectly made. The food was exceptional. The best part was the service. We had 1 person in our group who was Gluten-free/Siliac. The chef and manager both came out to make sure they fully understood his diet and needs. They must have nailed it. He wasn't in pain before we left the restaurant or during the remainder of our evening. How many restaurants can say they care that much to make sure they get you and your health 100%?
Very impressive!! I would highly recommend them for this very reason.
So tasty and very welcoming. A great gem in the neighborhood. The combination platters are a great way to sample a variety of their dishes and they have vegetarian and gluten-free options!
Amazing food. Went for lunch and had great service. Got the Doro Wat and Shiro Wat and they were each amazing. There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Would definitely come back! There is also gluten-free injera which was cool.
Friendly local cafe with great coffee and homey food made on site. Great place for multiple lunch and breakfast options. If you’re meeting folks with dietary restrictions, Cloud City is perfect—vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options with good selection.

The best spot in Greenwood, Seattle, to watch local sports, especially hockey. The delicious and creative menue is fully gluten-free, in which the chefs are incredible at crafting. I recommend getting a drink and having a friendly conversation with Harley or Jeff.
I’m a huge fan of Filipino food so my partner brought me here for a late birthday dinner. Atmosphere inside is amazing, the space feels airy and homey. The staff is kind and excited to discuss the menu as well as give recommendations on what and how to order. The food was great and I enjoyed the dishes we got, don’t skip the short rib kare kare, it’s spectacular. Though I felt that some of the other dishes we got were a bit overly salty and by the end of my meal I was needing something to cut the saltiness.
For those with Celiac, the gluten free options are spectacular here! The staff was very knowledgeable and even brought over a menu showing clearly everything that would be gluten free and celiac safe!
Overall I would come back here for another celebration or date night in the future!
