We were in the area and looking for somewhere tasty to go for lunch, and after seeing the reviews, we decided we wanted to come to blackies!
Even though we were a walk in, they were able to accommodate us and accommodate us, they did.
Most of the menu can be made GF, and there are pages, upon pages to this menu. Not only did I enjoy my meal (I got the French Onion Cheesesteak with Fries and it was SUPERB 🤌🏽), but my gluten eating family also had a meal. My Dad even said it was the BEST Ruben he's ever had (and he loves a ruben).
Since it was our first time there, our wonderful server was able to field all of my GF/Celiac-related questions with ease.
The restaurant is owned by two lovely women: one of whom has Celiac. They have dedicated fryers, AND they have separate kitchen tools (knives, utensils, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) for the preparation of GF meals. On top of all that, my food was brought out FIRST and SEPARATELY. Our server even brought out a new bottle of ketchup with my food so that there wasn't any CC.
I felt so well taken care of by the staff, and so safe while we were there, it was a new level of Celiac-care in this dining experience. I cannot more highly recommend blackies if you're ever in RI/Providence!!!
During my recent four-day stay at the Residence Inn while attending Flight Sim Expo 2025, I was so happy to discover that 110 Grill was conveniently attached right to the hotel. It felt like such a treat to have a quality dining spot just steps from my room, especially after long days exploring the expo.
The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere, with a stylish interior featuring sleek wood finishes, cozy lighting, and an inviting open kitchen concept that lets you watch the chefs in action. It is spacious yet comfortable, making it perfect for both solo dining at the bar and gathering with friends at a table.
One of the biggest highlights about 110 Grill is their dedication to accommodating dietary needs. They are known for having a completely gluten-free menu, right down to a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination. As someone who appreciates when restaurants go the extra mile for their guests, I thought that was fantastic.
I came in around noon on Sunday, and the place was surprisingly quiet, offering a peaceful escape from the busy weekend crowds. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. Although she seemed to be the only person working the floor at the time, she managed everything with such grace and friendliness. She was attentive and so kind, and she mixed some amazing drinks.
I enjoyed a couple of their signature 110 Margaritas, and they were both fantastic, perfectly balanced with fresh citrus flavors and just the right amount of tequila kick. For my meal, I ordered the Apricot Shrimp Risotto along with a side Caesar salad, and it completely blew me away. The risotto was creamy and rich without being heavy or mushy, and I was delighted that there were no diced onions hiding in it, since I usually find they overpower the dish. The shrimp were large and tender, and the hint of sweetness from the apricot created a beautiful harmony of flavors. It was one of those meals that stays with you long after you have left town because it was genuinely that delicious.
Looking through the menu, I noticed that 110 Grill offers a great variety of dishes ranging from hearty steaks and burgers to creative seafood options and vibrant vegetarian plates. Their menu often features seasonal specials and locally inspired flavors, keeping things fresh and exciting. They also have an impressive cocktail list and a nice selection of wines and local craft beers, which makes it a great spot for both dinner and drinks.
Service, even during quiet times, felt warm and personal, and I appreciated how attentive the staff were to details, especially when it comes to food allergies or dietary preferences.
If you find yourself staying at the Residence Inn or anywhere nearby, or you simply want a delicious meal in a modern, comfortable setting, I highly recommend checking out 110 Grill. It was the perfect place to relax, indulge in a fantastic meal, and treat myself during my trip to Flight Sim Expo. I am already looking forward to coming back the next time I am in town.
I wish I had known that their gluten free options were not the same as their on the menu options. I had heard the restaurant had a separate frier for gluten free orders and was so excited to try a new seafood spot, however the fried cod reuben I received was a cold batterless cod salad. The tarter sauce was more like a thin mayonnaise which soaked through the bread making it impossible to take out of the container. Beautiful establishment and friendly staff, but misleading info online led to an overall unpleasant experience.
Nice and classy environment with tasty food for both lunch and dinner. My go-to for a good and tasty salad, other food is awesome as well. Gluten free options too.
Nearly all items on the extensive menu can be made gluten free. I had fish and chips! Which was excellent. The fish was so fresh and tender, the chips were chip/French fries. I also got a little loaf of gluten free bread! Also amazing with the cinnamon maple butter. And if you are so fortunate enough to have the server Julianne, your whole experience will be made better. You will leave feeling happier and know she truly cared about your food and dining experience. Her knowledge about gluten free food, caring attitude and willingness to go above and beyond should well be noted. I love, love love everything about this restaurant and can't wait to go back, and hope that Julianne will be working. A++++
Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!
I was so over joyed to eat fish and chips out of a celiac safe deep fryer!! It tasted amazing and it was obvious they keep the oil very clean! I work in a kitchen and I know first hand how nasty deep fryers can get!! We went with friends that recently moved to Rhode Island and now we made a promise to go back to Celestial Cafe every time we visit! The chef even came out to check on us! We all loved our experience!
Came to Red Robin because they were very gluten friendly. Not any more. The menu no longer lists gluten free items. No gluten free buns. Fries were burnt stale and cold
This is the only chain where my friend with a gluten allergy has never (knock on wood) had an issue with cross-contamination. No matter which location we have gone to, the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.
One of the oldest restaurants in Rhode Island, and New England, is located across from an autobody shop, diagonal from a cemetery, and sitting on a rural road that feels like it's from the 70s.
Please do not judge a book by its cover, or a restaurant by its outside. I've yet to fully discover all that the Carriage Inn fully is, but here is what I've found:
An expansive menu. There are cocktails, wine, beer, and 11 rotating drafts. The end has all the typical American fixings, with gluten-free options such as rolls and pasta to substitute.
An amazing presentation of food. One time, I bought a burger to-go. When I forgot to ask for gluten-free rolls. What was picked up was a toasted burger bun that should have been in a FOOD COMMERCIAL. Normally, I don't write in all caps, but this bun was...George Clooney in glutinous form. Props to the chef!
A nice atmosphere. Some of the conversation I impolite overheard at my.last visit included an elementary schooler celebrating their summer, a family discussing the merits of a three legged picnic table, and some guy who goes to bachelor parties. The seating arrangements are spacious, and the interior has a blend of modern and traditional decor.
A lot of potential. Between the comedy events and the potential fundraiser opportunities that the Carriage Inn provides, there is a lot to do here.
As Arnold once said, "I'll be back!"
P.S. I recommend the Monday evening special for 2!
The goods - the cashier was extremely professional and courteous. He was also trying to stock everything, put out floor mats, and clean the tables all at lunch time.
Had three orders - one gluten free bun that was stale, dry and fell apart. Terrible.
The bathrooms, men’s and women’s, were disgusting.
Lastly, it smelled like they have t cleaned the grease in there ever.
I wouldn’t really mind, I’ve come to expect this as the New England Good Enough service, but I had raved about SB to some friends. They will it be back.

We love this place. We have been to the Cranston location before, but this was our first time at the Smithfield location. Unfortunately they don't have gluten free items marked on their menu, but the server was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. We went specifically to try the wings as part of the Lord of the Wings event, the wings were great! We also had a gf Biggie Mac Pizza, and one of the turkey burgers! So good!
Highly recommend this place. The food was delicious. I had a green salad with asparagus, winter squash with cilantro vinaigrette and seared scallops. My husband and my dad had chicken pot pie and my mom had a burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meals. For starters, we had gluten free fried calamari with rice flour.
This place is a hidden gem! It’s spotless and has a cool, modern vibe. Our family had an amazing time. The servers were super friendly and greeted us right away with a smile. The menu was huge, like a fresh take on breakfast! I was surprised to see how many unique, specially made menu options they had (including gluten free options) that I haven’t seen anywhere else in town. (It took me a while to decide!) The portions were huge, and the smoothie and coffee selection was incredible! The waitress was attentive and kept our coffees fresh. At the end of our meal, the manager came over to chat with us about our experience. We’ll definitely be back to Rachel’s Cafe this summer because it’s a great place to fill our belly’s directly on the way to our favorite beach!
Burger patties are solid here. Gochujang sauce wasn't great, and they used too much on mine. Bun is good. Would've liked a bit more substance in the burger at this price point. Fries were cold/a bit soft as well as a bit too salty so wouldn't recommend them. Would go back to try a different burger and maybe just pony up for an extra patty. Wife liked the gluten free bun and kid liked the Mac and cheese (which I tasted and thought was decent). Kid meal was a bit pricey for what it was (Mac and cheese with fries at $11), but the Mac as a side is $8, so just speaks to that maybe not being the best value on the menu. High chairs were good, bathrooms were clean, service was fast and responsive.
