Total ripoff trying to charge $6 for a different type of flour. This is unjustifiable. You don't prey on people with a 25% fee because they're born allergic to gluten. It tastes worse, never has a good texture and you want people to pay more for the suffering? No thanks.

I popped in tonite and ordered the brisket, but I'm gluten and dairy free, the staff were fantastic it turns out for once dairy was a bigger issue than gluten (all options marked and a seperate fryer) but they swapped it over for steak. Which was safe and delicious. Thanks so much
Finding somewhere to eat as a coeliac, is always a very difficult task. WOW, not only did we feel truly welcomed by the fabulous manager, he also pulled up a seat and sat with us to ensure we would have a great dining experience. The coeliac meal was prepared with the utmost care and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
I always try to make my way here to get some gluten free pancakes when I'm in Melbourne. Today I was looked after by Deb, who although was busy working hard, she was friendly and efficient. I'm grateful for getting my food and drink in good time and that the toilets were very clean!!!!
No longer 100% gluten free, and can’t even cater for it adequately despite saying they can on their menu - didn’t notify us until 30 mins before our booking despite us specifying “gluten free” in our booking 5 days in advance, and couldn’t offer substitutions for their set menu (their menu now says only a couple of things aren’t gluten free, but we were told anything on the grill is no longer gluten free, so the menu is incorrect as well). To make matters worse, they take the full amount from your card for the set menu at the time of booking upfront, and then you have to wait days to get your money back if you’re not going.
This place was an institution for coeliacs - if that’s why you were going, don’t bother.
I was walking past and the staff assured me they could do gluten and dairy-free. Then pointed out the suitable options on the menu. I had the Paella, they confirmed it would be safe for me and it was delicious.
Incredibly delicious food! I was very impressed! Each mouthful was bursting with flavour! I’d definitely recommend! The beef just melted in my mouth - it tasted heavenly! The price was reasonable too and the service was excellent! Plenty of gluten free coeliac safe options. 5 stars across the board!
I am so glad I found this joint! A cool space with a good atmosphere and excellent customer service. If you’ve seen any of my food posts you’ll know I’m that person with a ridiculous food intolerance that is usually not considered. Here it was! They have a separate emu that lists the items open for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, fructose free, onion free and garlic and onion free! What? So good!
My bloke and I shared a few dishes when eating out for the first time in… for ever! Delicious cabbage and pork dumplings, legit fried rice, crispy pork belly and eye fillet steak - we had sauces on the side for him to enjoy and me to avoid and both thoroughly enjoyed a top notch, tasty meal along with a couple of crisp and light rice lagers. I bought some of the yummy smelling teas to go. A first class experience. Thanks!
Not celiac friendly. Their menu shows so many gluten free options which is why we choose to try it out but when I went to order I was informed only 2 dishes could be done properly gluten free (no pastas). Misleading. Further the dish I did get was one of the plainest tasting sauces I’ve ever had and cost way too much for plain tomato sauce with 2 basil leaves as the seasoning.
Awesome place. Food was amazing especially for the lower price tags. Really good service and atmosphere even under the pump they delivered. Good options for gluten free too. No soggy toast which has been a problem at other places. Definitely recommend
Excellent spot especially for food allergies. Wife and I had an great 3 course meal that cater for low fodmap and celiac diets. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about our requirements and there recommendations of baked brie and the risotto were spot on! The low fodmap wagyu burger was one of the best I have eaten. This meal was the highlight of our stay in the city. Will definitely be back and will bring more people :-)
Had a gluten free chicken & brie burger + lemon, lime & bitter. Best gluten free burger and bun I've had in a long time. The bun kept its shape and stayed crispy.
Hubby and I went here for our 10 year anniversary dinner in December and it was lovely. The venue was packed (definately recommend booking), the staff were lovely and the food was amazing. We had a gluten free pasta dish which was nice, but the gluten free Pizza was delish! The base was beautiful and soft...it felt like I was eating "normal" pizza! Very yummy. Highly recommend.
Plenty of gluten free coeliac options. The service was brilliant - they made sure that my food was prepared safely. The quality of the food was excellent! The best smoked salmon I’ve had in Australia! It’s ashame the same can’t be said about the matcha - quite grainy and the quality was disappointing.
We managed to get a table outside and were promptly attended to by wait staff. The menu is diverse with delicious options and cater for vegetarians and gluten intolerances.
All meals arrived in a timely manner and each was delectable with alterations made as requested (no mayo on burger, gf bread for teriyaki mushrooms and added fried egg). Burgers looked so good there was an appetite of food envy! Would come back esp to try those.
Loved the vibe of this cafe! Buzzing and mostly corporate clientele during the week.
Very thick fluffy gluten free bread which is always a good surprise! Lovely presentation of the scrambled eggs which were creamy and big portion. Good selection of pastries and amazing breakfast menu.
They do a pretty good matcha. Not the best I’ve had but still good.
Would absolutely come back on a weekend where I have more time to sit back and enjoy.

Second visit but first time we had eaten there. The restaurant was very relaxing and tables well spaced. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, as I am a coeliac and their mess are marked online and in-house with dietary options. We had the chicken and prawn past dishes both of which were really good.
They also stock two bays GF Pale ale, which is great as a coeliac.
Coffee and food is great. The service is outstanding. Lots of gluten free options, the gf bread is delicious and the chef's home made jam is to die for.
Food and service were great. They have gluten free options available. Cocktails are yummy. Staff lovely. It was a little loud and hard to hear conversations with the music and big groups.
This place truly captures a Parisian vibe—if only the Eiffel Tower were closer! The savory gluten-free crepes are absolutely amazing, and the eggs benedict was an excellent choice. The coffee was rich in flavor and perfectly textured. Starting the day with great coffee is always fantastic. Thank you!
Dine in- the restaurant is fun. Staff are really friendly, killer menu. We managed to get out of there without ordering dessert but I still have that bucket thing on my mind.
I had the chicken burger. Sauce and cheese were super tasty. And the chicken was high qual. My partner had the GF burger and the bun was decent (for being gluten free).
The food was above and beyond our expectations. We were a big group of adults and kids. The kindness of Joseph made us dine in and try the yummy dishes. If I could give more than five stars for Joseph service I absolutely would. The gluten-free options were yummy.
I visited this spot because I used to enjoy coffee with friends at Block Place. Unfortunately, there was a long hiatus due to COVID and the closure of many businesses.
I'm thrilled that those times are behind us and Block Place is bustling once more! This charming little lane in the city offers a variety of eateries and cafes to explore.
Vespa Rossa has maintained the same inviting atmosphere and decor from the previous owner. The space feels open and welcoming, with friendly staff and comforting food.
The menu is straightforward and includes a few gluten-free options, making it perfect for a casual lunch or a laid-back gathering with friends.
I tried the mashed avocado toast (I know, so cliché), and it was fresh and delightful. The coffee was equally satisfying, rich in aroma. I also indulged in the tiramisu at the end of my meal. To be honest, the tiramisu was a bit too firm and slightly bitter due to the choice of a darker coffee, but it was beautifully presented and still quite tasty.
I highly recommend checking this place out! Its close proximity to the shopping area makes it an ideal spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a cozy afternoon.
Delicious brunch, and coeliac friendly. They aren't a dedicated gluten free space, but they do have separate toasters and make every effort to offer a safe space to eat. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal here last night- beautiful quality and unique flavour. We got the calamari and ‘pigs head’ taco for entree and the duck with rice and okra for main. It was all delicious and serving sizes were very generous.
They have a $99 chefs menu and the table next door were coeliac and were well catered for.
The only bad side was that it was very noisy (concrete floors, walls) so may be hard for some to hear their companions’ conversation.
Really nice cafe, would definitely recommend! Big range of options including vegan and gluten free. The staff were knowledgeable about being celiac safe and have a gluten free toast option which was great.
Had dinner here on a Tuesday night and the vibe and atmosphere in Hardware Lane was buzzing.
The service was great - unfortunately we missed happy hour, but they have a large selection of drinks that includes gluten free beer! Very handy for the coeliac in our group.
The food was ok - the Birriataco was delicious, highly recommend. The dip platter was good - appreciate the corn chips and dips were not from a packet like some other venues. I would not recommend the Fajitas as it was a strange, tomato-saucy dish served with tortillas, some rice with peas and carrot (almost looked like fried rice), shredded iceberg lettuce and some refried beans.
Got vegan and gluten free Ortolano panini. Incredible taste! It could’ve been a little bigger as I was still hungry after finishing it. Glad I didn’t get charged extra for vegan cheese :)
Healthy fast food, they are using Olive oil instead of soy oil. They also have options for low carb or gluten free bun. Highly recommended their zucchini fries
Ordered Gluten free garlic bread and Pizza
Absolute garbage, if you have ever bitten into plaster board that’s what you will get
Garlic bread hard as nails, for Melbourne cuisine this is beyond disappointing.
Lovely view and delicious food, the gluten free pizzas was really really good never had gluten free pizza like it! Seemed exactly like normal pizza. tacos were really nice and food was all good sizes
Excellent food and good service. I asked for Coeliac safe (gluten free), vegetarian, not oily or too spicy, and it's exactly what I received. Totally recommend. I will be back.
Oats are 💯 not Gluten Free and dangerous for coeliacs no matter how loudly you shout over the top of me oh ill informed and rude waitress of Mr Tulk. And your cafe has been reported to Melbourne City Council food safety department who informed me they issued you with an offense warning. And thanks(not) for leaving me to smear jam on my toast with my fingers for fear of getting lectured again if I asked for a knife and serviette. What an unpleasant experience.
The cutest little gem of a restaurant. Great cocktails (half price from 5-6 for happy hour) and amazing share plates. The veg/gluten free options were excellent.
