Today is my Mom's 75th birthday.
She has food allergies, so I expect to pay more for a good cake.
I ordered a small chocolate cake with vanilla frosting that's also gluten/soy/corn free. With the extra $15 for corn-free powdered sugar I paid $79. I told them it was for a celebration and asked them to put a 75 on top. They told me that, due to the ingredient limitations, they couldn't color the frosting and that the 75 would be white on white. I approved that and told them to just make it look nice.
This is what I got. Did a professional decorator do this? It's yellow (is that even safe to eat based on what they told me on the phone when I ordered?). It's not proportional. It isn't even remotely celebratory looking. I could've done it better myself. I'm so disappointed. 3 stars because at least the cake is good.
So, so good! We would go there every day if we lived close! I'm celiac and my sister is gluten free and dairy free and it was so great to have a server (shout out to Regan!) who was knowledgeable about cross contamination and a huge selection of the menu to choose from!
It's great to have a place that has fried chicken and sauces that are gluten-free. The portions are good, too.
I ordered online for pickup, and my food was ready at the correct time. They do have a couple of 3 min parking spots. Otherwise, parking in the area is challenging.
This has now become one of my favorite sushi places. Their food is a work of art. Seriously. Art that you get to fully enjoy. Their whole menu (minus one item) is gluten free. That's right. You can enjoy tempura! I teared up a bit about this. It's been almost 13 years since I have had tempura and this place did not disappoint! Their beverages are delicious and beautifully made. Their rolls are flavorful and filling. Their atmosphere is modern and simple, allowing you to focus on the food/art in front of you. Our server was top notch, friendly and knowledgeable. Parking can be difficult because it's the U Village, and it's totally worth it. Fresh, tasty, amazing and absolutely worth it.
Excellent seared duck breast. The French onion soup was good but unremarkable. We couldn't figure out what was "wrong" with the focaccia bread until we realized it was gluten free - dry and dense. Desserts were excellent. On the whole, a good dining experience and worth another shot
Lots of great gluten free options! I have celiac and i have never had a reaction from here! Their frier is all gluten free and they will change gloves if requested.
I found out about this place on Happy Cow and man was it great! The menu is very diverse, the portion sizes are huge, there are lots of gluten-free options, the prices are very reasonable for what you're getting, and the service and ambience are wonderful. It's no wonder why they've won Best of the Pacific Northwest honors at least twice. Even the meat eaters would be highly satisfied. I can't wait to come back!
I purchased a loaf of bread to take to dinner, most of the people there prefer glutenous bread which is why I bring my own. EVERYONE loved this bread! It was fluffy and went well with the meal. Thank you!
If you're on the lookout for a delicious vegan gluten-free pizza, look no further than Pi Pizza! I recently had the pleasure of trying their offerings, and I can confidently say that every ingredient was simply amazing.
Whether you opt for a classic pizza or a comforting calzone, the flavors are outstanding. The crust is perfectly baked, providing a delightful crunch while being soft and chewy inside. The toppings are fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully combined, ensuring that every bite is a burst of flavor.
What truly sets Pi Pizza apart is their commitment to accommodating dietary restrictions without sacrificing taste. It's a fantastic go-to spot for anyone avoiding dairy, meat, or gluten. You won’t feel like you're missing out; instead, you’ll be treated to a satisfying and hearty meal that will leave you craving more.
Overall, Pi Pizza is a must-visit for anyone seeking a tasty and inclusive dining experience. Highly recommend!
DJ is so incredibly kind!
I tried 2 Gluten and Dairy free donuts this morning. Both were absolutely incredible. They are worth the price 100%. DJ is passionate about making sure people celiac’s and other allergies are safe. He uses dedicated equipment and even dedicated clothing to make sure our food is safe. He doesn’t use any artificial dyes! Amazing!
DELICIOUS!! Gluten free, vegan, and SAFE!
Ate the donuts before I could get a picture.
Today was my first donut in years. He gave me a fresh, warm vanilla donut with rainbow sprinkles right out of the kitchen.
He’s got some new products coming out soon, and we got so lucky to get a taste. Everything this guy makes is awesome!
Thank you, DJ!
Love having a great tasting burger with a DELICIOUS gluten free option!!! I am often limited on what I'm able to eat because I don't eat wheat. But this was a game changer for me!!
I had the ahi which was great. The artichoke spinach dip had a nice flavor (order bread the crackers were fine but bread would be better), the peach 🍑 lemonade was delicious...then the surprise. I took home the mushroom tortellini and had it later for dinner and the flavor was AMAZING! My daughter loved her salmon too. The have so many options for vegan & gluten free diets as well!
Best best gluten free hamburger we’ve ever had!
Gluten free onion rings!!!!!
The service was super friendly and welcoming’ indoor outdoor seating our new favorite place!! Not super expensive YUM!!!
Highly recommend!! We went here while on vacation and it was a great experience! I have a gluten allergy and our waitress, Jessica, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind whenever I had questions and was super accommodating! The menu was also labeled with which items were GF as well which was very helpful. Everything tasted great!!
I wish I had found this restaurant sooner! If you're gluten-free, this place is absolute heaven!
Everything on the menu is gluten-free and the ingredients for the waffle batter are listed in the front of the menu. This is especially important for others who, like me, have multiple allergies.
Wait staff is excellent at answering questions about items on the menu. They have a wonderful variety of waffle dishes, both savory and sweet, which is their specialty. It's so hard to find a safe, gluten-free waffle when you eat out, and they not only have Celiac safe food, it's absolutely five-star yummy!
My partner, who can eat anything, says that he can't tell these are not traditional wheat waffles. Although he can order any item from the menu, he always get waffles. That's how good they are!
They also have a fun atmosphere with a fish aquarium on the big screen and a cozy setting where you can relax and enjoy your scrumptious food.
Go there and eat waffles for breakfast, brunch and lunch! You'll be glad that you did!
Absolutely fantastic service. Staff was helpful, eager to please, food made right in front of us and it was absolutely delicious. Super accommodating with any and all customizations on the fly, and bent over backwards for gluten free. Went so far as to give us other recommendations for Gluten Free in the area. Would absolutely go back!
I gave 4 stars because although they have a lovely selection of Gluten Free pastries (muffins, cinnamon rolls, and cookies), the soy latte I ordered came out burnt and sour! The muffin I got was good though and nice location!
I have celiac disease and seeing the "no outside food" sign up made me feel instantly at ease that this place was serious when they serve gluten free! The inside is cute as a button and feels very indie and local with the posters of local events and cute sweatshirts up on the display. The employees were so nice and the food was surisingly incredible. I had the fiesta toast which came out toasted to perfection with a ton of avocado and great flavors. The juices are kinda pricey but the food I think was a good value considering one toast kept me full all day long (which is saying something as a pregnant woman). Great spot, will be coming back!
Some of the best Indian food I've eaten (although if you're white and want heat order extra spicy rather than spicy). I do think the slightly higher prices are worth it for the food quality. Excellent service. Excellent gluten free and vegetarian options.
John Paul was an amazing server that went above and beyond to make our experience fun and memorable. He is a kind human who made us feel special and this really meant a great deal because my friends and I met for my birthday. We love the location and the food, but seriously Twigs is lucky to have John Paul on their staff. Thank you! I also appreciate that they have a vegan and a gluten free menu upon request.
We found this little gem while we were out and about. We came here because it had good ratings and gluten-free alternatives. The gluten-free bun was exceptional as was the burger. The service was very friendly. We will be going back the next time we're in Ballard.
Love the food and the people. Great options for Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan folks.
Would be perfect if there was a changing table in the bathroom for little ones!
The restaurant has not had a deep clean in an abysmal amount of time. The slats of the blinds were sticky, greasy and dusty. The floor had food ground into it from previous guests but it was not presenting as clean, with a mess. It just looks and feels grimy.
Service was lovely, friendly and quick. Our gluten-free folks were confident their food was safe because our server understood their needs and made sure everything was correct. Food was standard Red Robin fare, hot and consistent.
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed, we picked Hatch because we saw that they had an allergy aware menu as our family has some gluten and dairy allergies.
The automatic 20% gratuity means that everyone checked out and couldn't care about doing their job, or trying their best.
We waited a long time for any service, even though we were some of the only people in the restaurant, we eventually ordered everything all at once, once the server introduced herself.
Thankfully, our server understood the allergies, and we didn't have any allergy issues (which is the reason for the second star)
Everything else was terrible, and not worth the effort or the price.
The food was lackluster, the rice was overcooked and under seasoned, the meat was under seasoned, chewy, and super greasy. The service was terrible and I would have 100% considered not tipping at all I was so disappointed, and then to find out that I automatically tipped 20% was a pretty frustrating.
Won't be returning.
Great that there were so many gluten free options. Espresso drinks were great, service staff were very kind. Seating was okay- it was rainy when we went, so we couldn't sit outside but I bet that'd be nice. Highly recommend the herb/cheddar scone!
Part of being a good restaurant is fixing errors and making things right without fuss. They nailed that for me. Ordered a gluten free pizza, it was fantastic, too good! Turns out, it wasn't gluten free. I felt bad asking because if it was GF, I didn't want to insult them by questioning it. It was too late and I caught on after a couple slices. Anyways, the crew, handled it very nicely. I should mention that this occurred during rush hour when service was backed up and employees were at their busiest; there wasn't even a hint of annoyance that I have seen at other busy places when similar things happen. Overall, an unpleasant situation that was handled very well! I have no criticism with this review! Good food, good service, pizza parlor atmosphere! Can also confirm they have a very nice GF crust as well.
Thanks guys!
Green papaya salad was our table's favorite. Other highlights include the crab fried rice and the pad see ew. I found the tamarind pad thai to be too sweet and not with sour. This was a great restaurant for a large group (13 people) and also celiac friendly. Warm, efficient service with great recommendations. Would recommend and return for more tasty food.
The opposite of "Fast Food!"
Don’t get me wrong; the service here is quick, friendly, and attentive. But the food? It’s on another level. Thoughtfully prepared, gloriously fresh, and packed with nutrition, every bite feels like it’s doing your body a favor. It’s hearty, satisfying, and far better value than most salads in A-Town.
The shop itself is clean and cozy, with a team that clearly cares about what they’re serving. If you’re looking for a wholesome alternative to the usual drive-thru fare, this place is a must.
I am not vegan, vegetarian, or even restricted (gluten, lactose, whatever...) This has not stopped me from appreciating this great food. Everyone should try it, you may love it, you know I do!
The food was delicious and the portions were huge!!! The atmosphere was hectic even early in the Sonday morning. But I will recommend here for a quick breakfast. Also tons of vegetarian and gluten-free options!!
