Wow! Really enjoyed everything about Vela, I can’t believe I waited so long to try it! Went tonight for an anniversary dinner, and was very impressed with the food, service, and vibes. They are so accommodating for gluten free, the pasta was delicious and there was something to choose from throughout the whole menu that was gluten free! Only item pictured that wasn’t gluten free was the burrata canestri pasta. Missing was the gf brownie which was also so yummy!

Absolutely delicious. Great gluten free options. If only they had a dedicated fryer for their chips. You’ll understand why this little gem of a place has a Michelin sign out front!
Food at Oretta is alright but I like the restaurant for its ambience. It’s gluten friendly which is important for me since I’m allergic. They have gluten free pizzas but beware, they can be quite hard once they become slightly cold. Glad they have the option but in a city which is quite allergy friendly, I think Oretta can up its game with the gluten free options.
Brooklyn and Brandon took care of us for dinner one evening and they exceeded all customer service expectations! The atmosphere was inviting, warm, and always positive. Both Brandon and Brooklyn anticipated our needs of what we wanted without having to ask! Could not recommend the food or service anymore. The octopus, caprese, and penne alla vodka was superb. Would definitely come back and recommend :) The wine was also excellent and dietary restrictions were friendly as I am gluten intolerant!
We went to SARA to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The enviroment and vibe is super cute ( it looks like a cave inside). The service was also amazing. We all opted for the tasting menu ( 89$) and it was a magical experience. One of our friends is pescatarian and another one is Gluten sensitive. It was impressive to see each dish for those two was made with their dietary restrictions in mind, while we got to enjoy all the dishes. We got Theo and Espresso Martinis for drinks and they were really good too. The tasting menu started with the cheese bread . Then we had IKURA LATKES and Tuna tartare. The next items were hamachi sashimi and the chopped salad. The salad was phenomenal. I think we all agreed that the salad was in fact the best salad we ever had. We next tried the Reuben sandwich and green beans. I really liked how crispy the bread was on the Reuben sandwich. We then tried the eggplant which was also really good and the scallop tempura. The NY striploin and the sea bass were brought together with Brussels sprouts. The steak was out of this world delicious!!! If I were to return to this restaurant for only one dish it will likely be the steak. The sea bass was delicious too. Everything we tried was perfectly seasoned and so delicious. The dessert was also really tasty. Overall a great experience. I will definitely visit again. Their sister restaurant RASA is also equally good and you should check it out if you haven’t already :)

Taco Lupita was an incredible experience! The entire restaurant was gluten-free, which is great if you have a gluten allergy. The food was absolutely fantastic—everything was made fresh to order. They even had a great deal on three tacos for $16.95. Kira, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed. They also have convenient bar style seating as well as tables in the building. These tacos are definitely some of the best in the city. If you’re in the area, Taco Lupita is a must-try!
It’s an uber cool pizza place , at a convenient location. Was amazed to know they are open till 3 am on Friday and Saturday. I was with my friends and we ordered regular , vegan and gluten free pizzas and merrily chomped away the generous toppings and soft dough. Some of my friends also ordered craft yours pizza and beers and they were raving all the way about how good it was with all of their greediness ( read toppings!) on one pizza with a light budget. We actually ended up having a party kind of atmosphere because the place is huge unlike any downtown pizzeria and has so many board games to play! Thanks to courteous and fast service by Khushi and Santham serving pizza and drinks with a warm smile 😊
Great food and vibes, and the location is superb, of course. My only feedback is that I’d love to see more cider and gluten-free options on the menu. While it's nice that most pastas can be substituted with gluten-free penne, it would be even better to have another gluten-free pasta option that isn’t penne. Gluten-free farfalle, for example, would be a fantastic addition to your menu.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Baro a couple of years ago, so we were really looking forward to going back last night — this time post my fiancé’s celiac diagnosis. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment.
For starters, there is no legend or indication on the menu of which dishes are gluten-free. Thankfully, our server was excellent and took the time to walk us through the options. However, there were extremely limited choices — only one large plate option (also the most expensive dish), steaks starting at $95, and just four small plate options that could be made gluten-free.
We decided to order three small plates to share — which turned out to be shockingly small portions. It would’ve taken double or triple what we ordered just to feel remotely full. When we asked if one of the other large plates could simply be made gluten-free by removing the sauce, we were told the chef “really didn’t recommend it” because it would alter the flavour, and there were no alternative sauces (which made little sense since other sauces clearly exist for other dishes).
In total, for 3 tiny small plates (essentially appetizers), chips with guac & salsa, tuna ceviche, beef tartare, 1 cocktail, and 1 glass of sparkling wine, our bill was $115 before tip — and we left still very hungry.
We were so disappointed — especially with how unwilling the kitchen was to accommodate a very common dietary restriction like celiac. The experience was the opposite of our first visit, and sadly we will absolutely not be returning and would not recommend Baro to anyone with dietary needs or restrictions.
Such service, such food. So helpful and accommodating. Happily supported our gluten free and fructose allergies. Amazing, amazing restaurant. Worth every penny.
We came here for my best friends birthday & we were served by Robin (Robyn?) who was the bestest server EVER! She took care of us for dinner and then arranged us to have the best corner booth right by the Dj! She was a great vibe & so attentive! My only bad feedback about the venue is PLEASE PLAY BETTER MUSIC love you everything else was perfect otherwise & my gluten free pizza was so delicious!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent dining experience at Jacob's.
I celebrated my birthday here with my bestie this past Friday night. We got the Chef's tasting. My bestie liked the Canada Prime Angus PEI the best, meanwhile I liked the Oakleigh Ranch Wagyu. The A5 was just a bit too rich. I like this option of trying a few different items and appreciate this option being on the menu.
We also got the duck fat fries. They were tasty but nothing particularly special about them. I wanted to do the caesar salad and the guests next to our table gave their stamp of approval, but due to my bestie's gluten intolerance, it wasn't an option for us. I will have to come back to try it.
The steaks were perfectly cooked. Very tasty all around. The service was impeccable. Someone came over and personally wished me a happy birthday which was very nice. We ended up skipping dessert but we were given a small complimentary butter tart which was delectable. Happy birthday was written in chocolate on the plate and that chocolate was delicious as well.
The muffins they sent us home with were very good. I got to have both given my bestie's GF intolerance.
Shout out to our server Kateryna. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and endearing. She was sure to check with the chef about accommodating my friend's dietary restrictions and her suggestions were very helpful.
I look forward to my next occasion at Jacob's.
This was the first time in a long time I could order almost anything on the menu and it could be made gluten free. They have a dedicated fryer and a gluten free desert! Staff were all very knowledgeable I’ve been multiple times now.
I ordered an avocado salad. It was decent and good quality. I requested a boiled egg on the side, which they said they wouldn't! So I requested grilled chicken, which was delicious.
My friend ordered onion soup. The toast was a bit burnt. Also, we preferred more cheese.
They have naturally gluten-free stuff, which is good.
Good food if you don't have any issues with gluten. They've messed up at least 5 times (especially with online deliveries). The last time it happened my husband had called ahead and they still sent the wrong pasta. When we let them know the girl who answered the phone was rude and accused him of lying and asked my husband to drive down and show her and google had said they were closed by that time. It was a jarring experience. This is not the owner's fault. The owner admitted he can't do gluten free anymore because he can't trust the staff and my husband was pushing it because he does love the food. It's sad. If no issues with gluten it is great food but I want to warn people who do have issues stay away.
I have some food restrictions and this is a very good option for me since they have gluten free options and dairy free cheese! I really like the gluten free chicken. The pizza wasn’t my favorite but it’s good to have option.
tacos here just make you feel like life is good. fair price, tasty as hell, simple and delicious. their hot sauces are the best finishing touch to an already super high quality taco. like the choice of tortilla too - critical if you’re gluten sensitive or feeling crunchy or soft. they’ve got it all.
Honestly, I’m coming back because the service was impeccable
We had a celiac, vegan, pineapple allergy and vegetarian: they nailed it, food was tasty, but the service….if I could give a 10 I would.
They made sure we were comfortable the entire time
We loved almost everything
Top hits:
Snap peas, shishito peppers, fandango noodles, duck fried rice , pork bao
No one loved the black dumplings, was it because they were cold ? Not sure- but the service and the other food made up for it
We did dinner and karaoke, our host for karaoke was also amazing and kind- there was a printed sign with happy birthday and my besties name. The sound quality isn’t the greatest and it’s a little flat, but it didn’t matter that much because again, great service.
Every roll and pho was available gluten free, and everything tasted Delicious.
The waiter and the cooks all seemed knowledgeable about gluten and food allergies.
Gluten free!!!! This was awesome! First time having dumplings that were gluten free! The food was good and it was a great portion! We haven't been disappointed with the food since visiting Toronto and this was top of the list! Great good! Celiac safe!
It was out of chicken but the beef was good!
If I could give 10 stars I would. Our server Krista was amazing. I have celiac disease - a severe gluten allergy, and she knew exactly what to recommend on the menu. I split the steak frites and rigatoni alla vodka with my friend. Both were incredible. The fries have a designated frier making them fully gluten free and they also have gluten free noodles. Everything was very fairly priced for the quality you’re receiving.
My group was also celebrating a birthday and they went above and beyond taking care of us, bringing him an amazing pavlova dessert - gluten free as well!
The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. They have a 5-7 happy hour as well and everyone at my table loved their cocktails!
Overall, I will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend to anyone (especially people with celiac)!!
Fantastic experience here! I had my post wedding dinner here for 38 people. I didn’t realize the team would reserve the entire restaurant out for us, but it was a fantastic, intimate experience. We had a cocktail reception out at the front where they had excellent Asian inspired cocktails. We also added on some canapés. The menu was so remarkable. The team put together vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, pescatarian and normal menus for everyone. I was so impressed at the careful attention they paid to each different menu and all the dietary restrictions. The food was so, so, tasty. All the guests remarked how they would love to come back. The minimum spend was low enough where just ordering the canapés and the 5 course menu for everyone was enough to meet the threshold. Really fantastic experience and highly recommend to anyone thinking of hosting an intimate dinner. It was the perfect combination with Pop Up Chapel as well.
HUGE, super yummy doughy goodness!
Solid pie, I like this franchise their vegan pizza is flavorful, not overly cheesy nor greasy and a knock out franchise pizza joint on the east coast.
Being gluten free is no disadvantage, their gluten free dough and crust excels at kicking butt with maximum flavor and good texture, thoroughly enjoyed this and the store catered a large order for our event with zero flaws.
Support Canadian businesses!
Took my girl friend here for her birthday and we had a wonderful time. I have a few allergies and food sensitivities - nut and dairy allergy and I’m gluten-free. Our server Kenzie was incredible! From helping me navigate the menu, making sure everything anything I couldn’t have was removed or separated and was just a sweet human who made our night really great. The food was awesome, the views were beautiful. Will definitely be back this summer.
Incredible food and atmosphere. All the servers are so nice
GF - the staff were very helpful in explaining all the options that were, or could be modified, to be gluten free.
A lovely spot for drinks and a light meal. Gluten and dairy free options. Non alcoholic drinks as well. The service was friendly and professional. Views are really nice. Definitely will be back. Great place to watch the sunset in Toronto. Very pleasant atmosphere and good food and drinks
